We've been going to the Pavilion for about 10 years now. Totally agreed. We just returned from a mid-November 2024 trip since they're about to close for a year to completely redo all the pipes and plumbing. Breakfast used to be a full breakfast ( eggs, pancakes, etc. ) but got downgraded to a continental breakfast a couple of years ago. That's okay, there's at least 4 breakfast spots close by for a full breakfast. The first floor does have three ADA rooms ( 301 through 305 ) with floor level showers you could roll a wheelchair into. One additional amenity is that the Pavilion's crew will meet you at the boat to porter your luggage to the room. Not many hotels on Catalina do that. The courtyard alone makes it worth it. I know other regular travelers who say there are hotels with nicer rooms but absolutely no sense of courtyard or community like the Pavilion has. Also, it's part of a small group of hotels/restaurants owned by the Wrigleys so there's a dedication to making everything the best it can be. Other hotels are famous for "high price, low value" but the Pavilion ( and Atwater ) are high value in return. We usually bring cat treats because there's two twin black/grey cats that come through the courtyard every night between 5pm to 6pm. We usually see one if not both.
