Cyclone Hudhud was a strong cyclone that heavily impacted eastern India and Nepal in October 2014. Hudhud made catastrophic snow storms in Nepal, killing 43 people. Visakhapatnam was significantly affected as it was the landfall area of Hudhud. Over 120 people died from the storm and about US$ 3.6 billion of damages were inflicted.
