If a company tried to actually get a unit for free for a customer there wouldnt be hvac companies. The truth is even when the unit had a failed heat exchanger under the manufacturers warranty my boss did not want to try and fix it just charge full price. The only thing we ever warrantied were compressors. Changed those on commercial units under warranty quite a few times. So glad I did almost 100 percent commercial. Hate having customers hoovering 2 ft behind my head breathing in my ear and asking 300 questions while im doing a diagnostic.
