Finding the partial skeleton of a large triceratops dinosaur | Part 1
Переглядів 433Місяць тому
#fossil #nature #dinosaurfossils As we continue to hunt the hell creek formation for 66 million year old fossils. We have come across what we believe to be an associated skeleton of a large triceratops, much more excavating needs to be done before we can figure out how much of this animal has been preserved, stay tuned for parts 2 and 3. #blackopal #nature #treasurehunting Australian black opals are some of the rarest and most valuable gems on earth but cutting them is almost never straight forward, each decision can potentially cost you thousands of dollars. Here I work to remove sand inclusions from a particularly tricky piece of Australian black opal rough. #australianopal #gems #gemstones

#fossil #nature #treasurehunting I’ve spent the last 10 years of my career looking for this ultra rare lizard fossil. This summer I finally found it, a nearly complete armored lizard skeleton (Peltosaurus) This specimen was found in the white river formation of Wyoming, and dates to about 35 million years. Great work
Thanks for the video
Awesome
Extraordinary find, congrats! I'm sure it will become your centerpiece ❤
Wow what an awesome find!
In your estimation, how big do you think that individual Rex was ?
as somebody who loves paleontology as a hobby but doesn't have any experience in the field, your videos are so insightful! i hardly ever see videos of people _actually finding and digging these things up,_ usually they just skip right to the restoration process. learning about all the pieces of knowledge and tools you use to get to the fossils is fascinating! prior to finding your channel, i never would've thought about using a special glue to keep fractured pieces together, or using a knife to chip through layers of dirt! awesome find, you ought to be proud of it!
What are the measurements?? What is the average size of T-Rex teeth that have been found? So cool!
Wow! Can only imagine the size of monster that came from.
Insane!
This is Awesome!!!!!!!!!
Super cool fossil
Holy cow! That is super cool! congrats on the crazy find!!
That knife is not exactly a paleontologist tool…
Beak= Bec
Absolutely outstanding! I envy you greatly sir. Thank you for posting.
Nice one! Congrats…
So fucking cool
Excellent find!
This is such an incredible find!
This is Just SO FREAKING cool!
So cool to hear you explain more about the geology at these sites! Can’t wait to see what else you find here
Ancients Natural History , you're a content legend
If you buy 6 more rings you can have one for every digit.... Im dying laughing rn
One would find more if one actually looks at the ground while walking instead of the camera bub. Jk ya bro
Lol Ur ring tho. Lol Feelin Purdy today
This is just too cool! can't wait to see part 2!
This is sick!! Such great narration and explanation of your thought process throughout the excavation. Could the second bone potentially be a rib?
Thank you, the second bone I was working on is potentially the scapula! In a few days we will see how much more of it is there !
Really cool! Looking forward to part 2
Coming soon!
Can’t wait for part 2!!
Great find!
Thank you! Excited to see what else is in this hill
@@Ancients17NaturalHistory Good Luck! - or perhaps “Break-a-Leg” would be more appropriate!?😁
wow! that black opal is intense!! love it!
Cool!
Petrified wood
No sir, most likely hadrosaur

@@Ancients17NaturalHistory hope so! Alor of people get their hopes very high about finding dinosaur bones but all they get are Petrified wood! Good luck to ya!
Why recover it with sand ? also how do you apply the glue without worrying that it will impact the fossil ?
That is bad ass dude! Think you just got me interested in a new hobby. Lol. Take care man and keep digging!
This looks so much nicer than looking for microfossils in Wyoming. Boy that was an experience.
It’s pretty exciting to dig up a large bone every now and then, but i must admit i do have a soft spot for microfossils, are you looking in the lance ?
Marvellous find. Great presentation…. Thank you!
Great find! Nice presentation. Simple , straightforward….”this is what we do…”. Subscribed, and looking forward to seeing more. Thank you!
I really appreciate this comment, thanks so much, lots more content coming soon. I will be out doing field work for at least another month 😁
That is just so cool! Love seeing these videos!
Thank you, this one was pretty exciting as the bone had just gotten exposed and hadn’t been destroyed by the elements yet.
Awesome! Will you dig more around that area?
Cool storytelling
WOW! Amazing
An absolutely crazy find and jaw-dropping fossil! Congratulations on the discovery and the awe-inspiring preparation! Such a dream specimen!
Thanks so much! I’ve been looking for this particular fossil for over a decade so it was a dream come true for me.
Incredible!!
Stunning
Fossils like this always make me nervous cause I know I will damage them and that stresses me out. I have a friend who specializes in mico fossils but I never handled something smaller than a turtle chip.
Micro prep can be stressful but it can also be calming once you really get used to it. Just absorbing yourself in that tiny world.
Damn what an incredible find! Great explanation about your process too, pretty special to see the journey of this little guy
No way! What a find!!
It’s like an ancient puzzle
