The way he instantly goes from fishy Cockney coroner to no-nonsense matron at 2:15, changing clothes right in front of the audience, is so insanely smooth I didn't realise it was happening until after the song had ended.

you can almost write her entire life story with just that one word. how she fell in love with a dashing soldier boy in her youth, just before he shipped out to the trenches of what was then called the Great War, only for him never to return. and due to either loyalty to his memory or for some other reason, she never gave her heart to another man again.
Hopefully you will get sued by the producer for recording…

Dear Bill is so special. In media you never get male presenting characters expressing their emotions like this. There are so many points in this song that have me sobbing. Specifically "and to tell you the truth Tom" and "no you're not galavanting". I am debating making this my audition song.
