The Brumby coin is mad coin love it👌
@@silvermad1 thanks mate. I love it! The brumby is a cool part of our national identity.
Good stuff Matt.
@@robertsimpson8729 cheers Simmo!
Go silver! Do you remember Charlie Brumby from Sacred Heart days? The roughest kid I ever met. He taught me the 'F" word when I was in Year 3. I brought it home and Mum flogged me and washed my mouth out with soap. Literally. Brumby was banned from my life by Mum.
@@robertsimpson8729 I don’t remember him but I do remember the threat of having my mouth washed out with soap 😆
Nice coin🤗
@@kevcump62 thanks mate.
Love the Perth Mint Swans. Worth the premium in my mind given the low mintage and quality.

As a Numismatic novice, I'm intrigued with the varieties of Australian coinage that are currently in use. As an American, however, I wonder if you have a local equivalent of the Whitman Red Book for researching Australian Dollars. 🤔 Either way, your channel is certainly underrated for your talent.
@@SeaDog1667-1st mate! Appreciate the huge compliment and for your commentary. We have a book called Rennicks Australian coin & bank note values. One day soon, I’ll do an episode of all of our current coins in circulation here in Australia.
From Rob.
Sad that I rarely see coins anymore. All transactions are on my card these days. I did find a very worse for wear 50c piece dated 1972 in the dirt after digging up part of my backyard. Finders keepers.
@@bernadettesimpson8159 That’s a big Luke a mini-treasure find. I love finding old coins, no matter where they are.
Very insightful review of the various QE2 effigies. With a fitting Royal blue background. I wonder what is your favourite?

Hi, Did you get this one directly from the Perth mint or from a secondary dealer?
@@kevcump62 I think I got it through Ainslie Bullion in Brisbane. If not them, I source my bullion through a few dealers in Melbourne - Thompson Coins, Bullion Now.
Fun fact : pockets of QUOKKA have been discovered living on the mainland in bushland around Manjimup in the south west of Western Australia not just on Rottnest . I’ve seen them while hunting many times .
@@kaynef6637 that’s excellent news. They used to exist on the mainland before the feral animals got there.

@@colcowboy I don’t have a lot myself, so I have none for sale. But I can highly recommend Thompson’s Coins in Boronia, as they often have the 1966 50 cent coins at reasonable prices when compared to most others.
Informative presentation with a relaxed style. Very enjoyable. One more subscriber and you hit the 200 mark!
@@kevcump62 thanks mate. Yeah. I saw I’m edging upwards, albeit very slowly.
why cant we find the new king coins in circulation
@@jackharrison2785 apart from the $1 coins, the RAM seems to have only released mint sets ‘not intended for circulation’ so far. I’ve picked up a couple of KCIII $1 coins in my change so far. I reckon the other denominations will be circulated in 2025, so keep your eyes peeled.
Above comment from Rob.
Remember walking into record stores and picking up a free Top 40 chart? Most were bands. Bands are almost non-existant now. The reason largely being cost of promotion and logistics of recording as opposed to single artists who can now cheaply and singlehandedly produce a full, high quality sound ( not necessarily tune) using AI in their own home. The 80s music scene was extraordinary. It will never be repeated or matched. So many talented musicians and so many original numbers. Countdown couldn't and wouldn't be made today. The platforms and tastes are far too varied now for it to mean anything to a mass audience.
@@bernadettesimpson8159 I still have some of the top 40 charts I picked up at Mockridges near 5th avenue Sandgate.
Yep. Great memory Matt. Mockridges - yes, haven't heard that name for decades.
@@bernadettesimpson8159 agree with your points regardless the 80s of course.

50c coins are such a great platform for displaying great designs. The size and shape just lends itself to commemorative coins. Keep the 50c vids coming Mat.

$2 note comment from Rob.
Bring back the $2 note. I think the $2 coin adds too much bulk to my wallet (when I have cash).

Hi Mat. Nice video. Why do you think you got so many views for this video compared to your other videos? Regards, Kev, from Kev’s Coin Collection.
@@kevcump62 Hi Kev, I’m still so new compared to yourself? I’m thinking the old 1966 is popular with us old boy coin collectors? 😆 Plus I think silver is a popular thing these days, especially with USA coin collectors, as they have so much constitutional currency, being an older nation. That’s my guess?? Any ideas yourself? Appreciate any advice. Love your channel.
@@mattivation_inc. Hi. Don’t really feel qualified to give out advice because I have not been at this for more than 12 months yet but here I go anyway. 1 pay a lot of attention to your thumbnails and titles. When you find a style that works well, stick with it. For example, keep to the same colours and fonts so people recognise it’s you. Jump on anything that is trending but mainly talk about what interests you.
@@kevcump62 thanks. I reckon that’s good advice regarding thumbnails and content! Especially just doing what we like, otherwise it’s not sustainable.
