      Thanks for you comment my fellow Mitsubishi owner. I like to use the factory Mitsubishi oil filters only now and they seem to be very happy on startups and have the perfect flow rate. I was an idiot and decided to use one of the worst oil filters for this video I will never buy a frame oil filter again after more research. I checked my cams when doing my valve cover and you can see it's totally normal wear from spirited driving lol. Penzoil ultra platinum 100% synthetic oil I swear by. It uses 3 anti corrosive techniques in combination to protect the engine as much as possible and has boatloads more additives then traditional oil requirements. Truly great oil. Ik what you mean tho these things are not a Toyota but I will say for the abuse they take they are built like tanks when they don't get rusted out.

      Thanks for watching my friend. Gts plenum has equal length runners for better top end but I don't think it's even possible to do that as the gas has the mvim system which changes the intake plenum runner length at different rpm. I would expect you would have a 6g74 plenum which looks like the gas one but doesnt have mvim.

    I just replaced head gaskets and spark plugs due to a different problem where coolant was mixing with oil. Then a few weeks pass by and im fully out of coolant and oil. They say that my valve covers are bent now? This is after we pay a lot of money for the other engine work and they claimed it had a strong engine life moving forward. I never had oil loss until they did their repairs. They claim the valve covers are a completely different issue, what would cause this and would it be connected to the shops work by chance?

    • @that3ggt
      @that3ggt Рік тому

      It's difficult to determine the exact cause without inspecting the vehicle, but I can offer a few possibilities. I do know that the valve covers on the 6G72 can bend very easily. Firstly, it's important to note that the valve cover gaskets and the head gaskets serve different purposes and are separate components. Valve cover gaskets are responsible for sealing the valve covers to prevent oil leaks, while head gaskets seal the cylinder head to the engine block, ensuring proper compression and preventing coolant and oil from mixing. If you experienced coolant mixing with oil after the head gasket replacement, it's possible that there was an issue with the head gasket installation or another underlying problem that wasn't properly addressed. This could have led to the coolant and oil mixing and potentially causing damage to the engine. Regarding the subsequent loss of coolant and oil, a bent or damaged valve cover might cause oil leaks, leading to oil loss. However, it's unlikely that a bent valve cover alone would result in coolant loss. Coolant loss could indicate another issue, such as a leaking radiator, a faulty water pump, or a cracked engine block, among other possibilities. Whether the shop's previous work is connected to the current issues would require a proper inspection and evaluation by a qualified mechanic. If you suspect that the shop's work might have contributed to the problems, it's worth discussing your concerns with them and giving them an opportunity to address the issue. Ultimately, I would recommend consulting with a trusted mechanic or taking your vehicle to a reputable repair shop for a thorough inspection and diagnosis. They will be able to provide you with accurate information about the specific issues and their potential causes.

    15.5 seconds is about the normal 1/4 mile time that a stock 3G 5 speed GT will run, but since you have a few mods I think you could do better. Your dropping the clutch at too high of an RPM and your wasting a lot of time spinning and then sometimes dead hooking the tire. I think you could do fairly close to 15 seconds flat at about 92-93 MPH if you could get off the line better without spinning.

    • @that3ggt
      @that3ggt Рік тому

      Im sure you're correct. This was my first time ever going to a prepped track + I almost never launch the car from first to save my clutch and normally will do roll racing. I had no idea what to expect, still figuring out what the happy medium is between enough rpm so I don't bog down but not too much so I don't spin which is much easier said then done. In the future I would like to get a LSD to help with the wheelspin and a good 2step system will help with consistent launches after I figure out what rpm is best.

      Krown this krown that, hears my experience, 1987 toyota 4x4, krowned, rusted out in the seams no krown or toyota would give any compensation or fix, 1997 taco, krowned again from new, and washed often to get that salt off, frame rusted out 20 years later and guess what no krown or toyota would pony up, have a 2000 ford ranger not crowned and still on the road.

    • @that3ggt
      @that3ggt Рік тому

      Im sorry to hear that but Krown Oil spray is designed to prevent rust, not accelerate it. Krown Oil is a corrosion inhibitor that works by coating metal surfaces and displacing any moisture that may cause rust or corrosion. When applied properly, it forms a barrier that helps to protect the metal from further rust formation. However, if rust is already present on the metal surface, Krown Oil spray cannot reverse or repair the damage that has already been done. It is important to clean and remove any rust before applying Krown Oil spray for best results.

    • @fb9479

    • @that3ggt
      @that3ggt Рік тому

      It seems you had a negative experience with using Krown, a rust protection product, on your vehicles. The mention of the 1987 Toyota 4x4 rusting out in the seams despite being Krowned suggests you had expected the product to fully prevent rust, but was disappointed when it did not. They also mentioned that neither Krown nor Toyota would offer compensation or fix the issue, indicating a possible frustration with the lack of support from the companies involved. You then mentioned their 1997 Toyota Tacoma, which was Krowned and washed often to remove salt, but still developed frame rust 20 years later. This experience may have reinforced their negative view of Krown and its effectiveness in preventing rust. Finally, you mentioned their 2000 Ford Ranger, which was not Krowned but is still on the road, suggesting that they believe not using a rust protection product may have been more effective in preventing rust. Overall, your experience with using Krown may have led you to be skeptical of the effectiveness of rust protection products in general. While you may have had a negative experience with Krown, it's important to note that everyone's experience may vary based on factors such as the age and condition of the vehicle, the environment it's used in, and the maintenance practices of the owner. In my personal experience, I've been using Krown products for 2 years now and have not encountered any issues with rust. However, I understand that this is a relatively short period of time compared to the person's experience with their Toyota vehicles. It's also worth noting that no rust protection product can completely guarantee that rust will never form on a vehicle. While these products can certainly help prevent rust, other factors such as exposure to salt and moisture can still contribute to rust formation over time. Overall, it's important to consider a variety of factors when evaluating the effectiveness of a rust protection product and to be aware that different people may have different experiences with the same product.

    I have q question about the sparkplug wire install. My Sebring is the same engine layout as yours, and the spark plug tubes are all smoking in oil now, so I decide to replace them. When I put the new wire for the back side valve 1,3,5; the ignition side which marked the cylinder number is odd, the top one is 1, the middle one is 5 and the lower side is 3. I wonder if I put the different sizes/lengths of the wire messed up, will that cause a problem? Thanks

    • @that3ggt
      @that3ggt Рік тому

      "It seems like David Qi is asking a question about installing spark plug wires on his Sebring's engine, which has six cylinders. He is specifically asking about the installation of the spark plug wires for cylinders 1, 3, and 5, which are located on the back side of the engine. David mentions that he noticed the ignition side of the new wires he is installing is marked with odd numbers, with the top wire marked as cylinder 1, the middle wire marked as cylinder 5, and the lower wire marked as cylinder 3. He is concerned that he may have mixed up the wire lengths or sizes during installation, and is wondering if this could cause any problems. In summary, David is asking if using spark plug wires of different sizes or lengths on cylinders 1, 3, and 5, or mixing up the order of the wires during installation, could cause any issues in his Sebring's engine." If that is your question then the short answer yes but the long answer is no. You just need to make sure the distributor terminals have the wires running to the correct cylinders which are labeled and you can find diagrams online. If if not I can go look at my car for reference but it's the winter currently. As long as the wires are for the 6G72 and the connection works you will have no issues. It shouldn't matter what number is on the wire that's just to make it easy if you have a full set like me. My 6 wires had 1-6 labels on them so I just put them in accordingly to the label on the distributor. I obviously matched the numbers because I'm OCD but mechanics will swap spark plug wires all the time when testing for ignition issues so it should be no problem. The only thing you can really mess up and I'm not sure if it would harm the vehicle is if you were to hook the wrong wire up to the wrong distributor terminal. I would assume the car just wouldn't start.

      @@that3ggt thanks for the reply! I am able to get the wire replaced and get them right. But I had an problem when I reassemble the air manifold back, I tied the throttle ground wire to the wrong place. Then after it started, it’s shaking idling not right. • @that3ggt
      @that3ggt Рік тому

      Glad to hear that you were able to fix the issue by reattaching the throttle ground wire to the correct location. In terms of why the grounding can cause problems, it's important to understand that electronic components in a car are designed to work within a specific range of electrical conditions. The grounding system is a critical part of ensuring that these conditions are met. When a component is not properly grounded, it can cause electrical interference and voltage fluctuations that can disrupt the performance of other components. This can result in symptoms such as rough idling, misfiring, and other issues. In the case of the throttle ground wire, it's possible that the incorrect grounding location caused electrical interference that affected the throttle position sensor or other related components, leading to the rough idling you experienced. Once the ground wire was reattached to the correct location, the interference was eliminated, allowing the throttle system to operate correctly and resolving the issue. It's always important to follow proper wiring and grounding procedures when working on a car to ensure that all components are operating within their designed specifications.

I would be hollering for them to stop if I had spent some serious coin on paint correction already, but with the current condition, the brush they use can't be worse for the paint then the spinning brushes you would find in the car washes. You aren't wrong though, the brushes are terrible for your paint and I was cringing when I saw them do it to the 3G. Thx for watching!

    I'm doing this exact thing very soon on my 2003 GTS. Not looking forward to getting access to those two bolts on the EGR. Appreciated!

    I had the 2001 with the V6. 2012 I moved to Florida and then the whole dash cracked so I got a cover for it but then in 2014 I moved to Georgia.. they have emissions and the check engine light went on. I spent a lot of money to fix it but it kept coming back on so I couldn't pass. I got rid of the car in 2015. Loved the car. If I had stayed in Florida I could have kept it cuz they have no emissions but it ran great. Miss it

      Do you know what the code you were getting was? Sorry to hear that tho emissions are annoying, sad you had to let go of a good car.

      @@that3ggt I don't remember the code anymore but I originally brought it to a local mechanic and he replaced the sensor based on the code and then the check engine light went on again and he said it was now something else and he said that once the first code was fixed it then was able to recognize an additional code so it kind of became a money pit. Then I had to bring into a Chrysler dealer because there were no Mitsubishi dealers near me and they had it working for a while but we could just couldn't get it to stay.
