Generator Won't Run? Best TIPS TO CLEAN the FUEL TANK and GET IT RUNNING PT 2.
Pop drained out the bad fuel from the neglected generator to clean the tank and bring it back to life. See how he attempts to clean it. This is part of a series where this generator not only comes back to life but ends up better than new.
I've found a surprising variety of replacement parts for these Honda Clone Generators

Here's the link to the replacement fuel tank. In retrospect I think I should have purchased it even though it is unvented. I learned a lot working on this unit and since I've now gone to propane on this the gasoline tank will only be for emergency and I may be able to compensate with a vented cap. I would not worry about recycling the tank vapor in an emergency. This looked like a good tank: amzn.to/4iKvdUu

Here is why Oregon has some of the big knife making companies. Gerber Legendary Blades was the first one. They were founded in 1939 when Pete, Joe and Ham Gerber began making and selling culinary knives in Portland. Pete Kershaw left Gerber in 1974 to start his own company and brand. In 1994 Paul Gillespie and Rod Bremer left Kershaw to start Columbia River Knife and Tool (CKRT). Benchmade evolved from Balisong Knives and was founded by Les de Asis. We are also blessed to have many knife designers that are building small quantities of custom knives. I have the good fortune of knowing Tom Veff from using his sharpening service a few times before I learned how. Tom designed and patented the Veff Serrations that you see on many CRKT Knives. He has a small shop behind his home and he moves a ton of knives through that shop.

I almost forgot Coast Cutlery. The company was founded in Portland over 100 years ago.

Thanks for watching and thanks for that historical rundown. I became a fan of COAST originally for their headlights and had read the history of how the founder originally began making knives for tree marking for the timber industry. I had no knowledge of the rest. It may warrant a video just on that. The way things are in Portland these days must make it tough for those businesses. Cheers. Pop

@ These knife companies are located in the suburbs so they are in pretty good locations. The other thing I share with people is that this image of Portland in the media is way over blown. They have the same problems as many large American cities compounded by having a Mayor that can’t find his own ass with both hands. Problem solving is not in his wheelhouse.

Great video in time for Christmas gift shopping. I like the Coast Knife selection. The import (China) knives are well made, budget minded tools for farm and tradesman work. Thumbs up and subscribed

If you want sub $40, good materials and build quality, look no further than ganzo. Been using their knives for years now, and despite getting a lot of flak from purists, they make really good knives.

I always believed its what you use the knife for, not the steel. So almost any pocketknife will do .

Thanks for watching! Some hold edges better than others but sometimes I just need to get down and dirty to scrape off a gasket or cut some landscape fabric off a mower blade and I don't want to do that to a $150 knife especially when I can sharpen this one back up to shave hair again in a couple minutes. Cheers! Pop

I live in a state where “spring assisted” is the same as automatic, and both are illegal to possess.

Thanks for watching. The little bit of research I did about legalities implied that they are legal in all 50 States. Fortunately I'm just giving shopping and warranty advice, not legal advice. Best regards, Pop.

Thanks for watching. I looked up the BM Knife, and it looks like a great knife. To be clear about this, when I'm going on an adventure and my life may depend on the quality of the gear I have with me I'm going to carry premium stuff. When I'm working here on my farm and I might have to get under my tractor and cut loose something wrapped on the mower I'm going to use something that I don't worry of it gets abused. That's what we are talking about in this video. In case you didn't watch till the end, the conclusion is that COAST replaced my original broken knife under warranty. The original knife cost about $20 and I used it nearly every day here on my farm. I'm pretty pleased.

Benchmade are so expensive. You can literally buy 10+ knives and still be cheaper

Go to knife depot, enter your knife requirements, and be done with it. It would be cheaper and a better value to buy a full tang knife if you are looking for ease of deployment and strength .Goodluck

Thanks for watching. I don't disagree that there are other great ways to buy a knife. I think what I described is the way a lot of folks would approach it because they aren't really knife people and their automatic default is going to be Google and Amazon. Cheers! Pop.
