Disabled Metal Detecting and Rambling Adventures
United Kingdom
Приєднався 5 лют 2023
My wife and I love the outdoors, I am a metal detectorist, my wife loves photography. We like walking and exploring, historic places, stately homes, ruined abbeys etc. After suffering a severe adverse reaction to Ciprofloxacin given for an infection I didn't have, I am now disabled. This antibiotic is toxic to some people it attacks soft tissue, tendons, muscles, cartilage. It's left me with peripheral neuropathy in both legs, severe osteoarthritis in my knees and shoulders from cartilage degeneration Bursitis and Tendonitis and in chronic musculoskeletal pain all over of my body. My wife is a member of Fluoroquinolone Toxicity UK. After sitting in the house for six months I decided to try and get some semblance of life back. We bought a second hand powerchair, a 4X4 magic mobility extreme X8, and a WAV. We are going to film some of our outings and metal detecting adventures. We will look at parking, accessibility and pricing. Please subscribe we would really appreciate it.
Join us as we walk round Linacre Reservoir in Chesterfield S42 7AU #accessibility #wheelchair
There are three reservoirs at Linacre, built between 1855 and 1904 and, between them, they hold more than 240 million gallons of water. The reservoirs are surrounded by fields and bluebell woods. We went during November and although there were no Bluebells, the colours of the various species of trees was absolutely stunning.
You can walk round all 3 reservoirs, or 2 or just 1. We went round the middle and top reservoir and it was totally accessible. We will try all 3 next time, we were told there were steps to the bottom reservoir but there is a way round albeit a little muddy so we will investigate further next time.
I made a bit of a mess of the text at the end. It should read, "That concludes our walk around Linacre Reservoir. Please like and subscribe so as not to miss out on future walks. Thank you"

Sniffing out that sneaky, hidden silver.

A great day detecting. Some unusual finds and the very last signal was a very hard to find little silver. It very nearly didn't come home with us, I was battling with a mass of roots, but perseverance paid off! *Please like and subscribe if you have enjoyed this video* *Remember to use the code REG1718X to get 10% discount off most items at www.regton.com regton.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw...
A badge found metal detecting, a Derbyshire field and YMCA, what is the connection?

A short video, with a piece to camera, (unusal for us, I know, but thought we would give it a go). A metal detecting find, with our XPDeus2, leads to some very interesting information. XP Deus 2 turns up silver, but how deep was it?

Another few hours detecting. After a while of no silvers, we actually sniff one out, hopefully the silver drought is over. Very, very deep targets today, really built my muscles up! @xpmetaldetector @MagicMobility @allterrainwheelchairs6875 #derbyshire #disability #metaldetecting #coins #detectorists #detector #treasure #wheelchair #swinging #hunting
When is a pocket spill not a pocket spill? Answers on a postcard please.

A couple of afternoons detecting put together in one video. We had a debate about the amount of coins that are classed as a pocket/purse spill. Jon and I have differing opinions (no change there then lol). Any thoughts, please comment below. @xpmetaldetector @MagicMobility @allterrainwheelchairs6875 #history #historical #metaldetecting #coins #artifacts #derbyshire #nature #outdoors #countryside

Come and have a look around Castle Acre Priory with us and see how accessible it is in a wheelchair, mobility scooter or a powerchair. Kirby Muxloe Castle - Leicester's hidden gem - very accessible.

A lovely couple of hours spent at Kirby Muxloe Castle today. A hidden gem that is definitely worth a visit. A ruined fortified manor house dating from 1480. It is run by English Heritage. The castle itself isn't always open, but you can still access the grounds. If you do want to go inside and access the castle garden in the middle of the moat, make sure you check out English Heritage website f...

Historical Essex Bridge in Great Haywood, JR Tolkien's, Lord of the Rings village.
Переглядів 946 місяців тому
What a lovely place to visit. The bridge was built in 1550 by the Earl of Essex, Queen Elizabeth 1st favourite. Parking in Great Haywood and then a short walk to the bridge, which takes you into Shugborough Estate. JR Tolkien's ficticious village, Tavrobel, (History of middle-earth) is supposedly based on Great Haywood. Tavrobel has a bridge where two rivers meet, the Gruir and Afros, just like...

Hi Jon & Wendy , nice finds love the weight looks like a Loom weight to me ? the buckle is a little belter to , and then the icing on the cack a lovely Gv silver top little find , anyway another great video hope all is good with you both best wishes and good luck ATB Rob 😃.
Hi Rob , could be a loom weight - I went through my pouch and hiding in one of the corners was a smaller one I had found, a few days previous on the same field ( I had totally forgotten about it lol). Strange. Thanks for watching - all the best Jon and Wendy 🙂
Love the banter between you two 😂 you have a wonderful relationship and it comes through great on camera 🥰
Aww, what a lovely thing to say - thank you for that! All the best Jon and Wendy 🙂
Hiya John & Wendy 👋 What a weight 👍 There is a rare 20p. It has no date on it ,I had one a few years ago, I flogged it for £50 😂 Very nice buckle, and love the expert shit 😂😂 Shame all the coins are crusty Silver in the hole.👍 Great video Thanks for sharing Happy hunting 🍀
Hi , I didn't know that about the 20p, Thanks for the info, I will be going through our spendable jar shortly lol. I bloody hate those crusty coins lol. Thanks for watching = all the best Jon and Wendy 🙂

Hi you two are funny. Got to dig a find a find, all me and my daughter when she was little were musket balls and the odd nail or plough point.

Felicitaciones, éxito en tus búsquedas y aventuras, saludos cordiales desde chile 🙋♂️🇨🇱🤜🤛👏🙏⛏️🗝️💍👍
Helloo , how are you? Thank you for watching and commenting - Have a good day from Jon and Wendy 🙂
Also if a gold ring is cracked it can give an iron signal thanks.
Yes, Jon told me about that and he also found 2 gold rings before he was disabled and both had a split right across the band and they gave a double signal, but when the split was squeezed back together, the signal was normal, how very strange. Thank you for watching our videos and commenting we really appreciate it. 🙂🙂
Looks like a Roman steelyard weight. Well done!
Oh wow, I think you might be right, just Googled some pics and there are several that look very similar. My "expert" so called, didn't spot that 😂😂. Thank you - all the best Jon and Wendy 🙂
🎉 sweet search again guys more shiny shizzz for the collection 💚 I think it's probably one of the funniest episodes I've ever seen 😂😂😂 Love to you both 🐓
Hi there, lol, so glad you enjoyed it 😂 Hope you're well and finding plenty of interesting items in the "saucy swamp" 😉. All the best Jon and Wendy 🙂
Hey there guys. A lovely Sixpence brooch Coat of Arms Australia. Congratulations from Down Under...
I have this and also the XPointer II. Both are good pinpointers and have great volume!
Some nice bits there from another derbyshire detectorist 👍
loved the notts and derby capbadge. they were also known as the sherwood foresters. that is probably ww1
I have often found a cheeky silver buried under the roots! It’s like they don’t want to be found 😂Congrats 🎉Best, Julie x
Those roots definitely like to hold on to their treasures haha. Thank you for watching and commenting, all the best Jon and Wendy :-)
i found my silver spoon inder some roots. i like the fact it is sterling that one not 50% because George 5 ones r usually 50%
Ooo nice, a silver spoon. We found a silver spoon last summer. Yes, 100% silver, which is good. Luckily I only caught it very, very slightly. All the best Jon and Wendy :-)
Hi Wendy and Jon, two coin spills is good going, shame there was no silver with them, yeah everyone one had a pocket knife when I was a kid, and we didn't go stabbing each other either although we did play the splits now and then 🤣, a dobber down our way was an unusualy large marble like the one Julie found in that bag the other day, Love the banter between you both, keep up the good work. ATB Bill and Julie X 👍😊❤
Hiya Wendy and John What a lovely silver . That must be a lucky coin pod. Lovely buckle, and what a hole 😂😂 Did you get the permission 🤔🤔 Fingers crossed for you Stay lucky 👍
Hi , Jon wouldn't take the coin pod out for a while, he thought he might have jinxed finding any good stuff 🤣🤣, so maybe you are right, and it will turn out to be a lucky coin pod 🤞 And yes, we got the permission, 2 more fields so was a very good day. Thank you for watching and commenting, all the best from Jon and Wendy 🙂
@@disabledadventures4115 get in 👍 Be lucky
Those were d-d-d-d deep holes Arkwright 🤣Love the buckle and the cheeky silver both, all the best, Julie 😍
Hi , they were incredibly deep holes lol, very heavy soil too, if that makes sense 🤣🤣. Always nice to turn up a little silver. Thank you for watching - cheers from Jon and Wendy 🙂
Hi Jon and Wendy, that was both fascinating and well researched, I wonder if such a scheme will ever be brought back? Take care and all the best, Julie 😍
Ahh thank you. I think it would be a good idea to bring a scheme like that back tbh. Thank you for watching - cheers Jon and Wendy 🙂
Very nice badge. Cheers from Pennsylvania 👍😃👋. Robbie sent me over.

Hiya John & Wendy What a fantastic bit of history there, 20,000 trained utterly fantastic. YMCA has certainly helped thousands of people. Thanks for sharing Happy hunting 😃
Hi , thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, amazing bit of history, one we knew nothing about. That's the great thing about this hobby, you never know what you are going to find. Take care Jon and Wendy 🙂
Hi Wendy & Jon , good research on the badge and you come over really well on this side of the camera you should do it more often well done 👍as regards the crusty coins and what to do with them throw them in the scrap bucket !! let's be honest if it's got nothing on it or completely blank what's the point saving it ! i used to have boxes full of the dam things now i weigh them in £££ with the Lead , anyway top video hope all is good with you both ATB Rob . PS shout out for you both in our next offering on Thursday 😊.
Hi , thank you for that. I hate seeing myself on camera, even worse hearing myself 🤣🤣. We have margarine tubs and ice cream tubs full of crusty copper coins, lol, bit ridiculous really. I think we ought to weigh them in too. A shout out would be amazing, we seem to have stuck with subscribers and we don't come up in youtube searches for metal detecting not sure why, so we would really appreciate it. Thank you so much. Take care from Jon and Wendy 🙂
great piece o history there!
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it 🙂

Hi Wendy & Jon , nice little hunt and nice finds the deep hc programme can be a bit of a mare at times as regards chirping and spluttering all the time anyway well done love the buckle and always nice to see a bit of silver pop up and good old George the V is popping up all the time , anyway great video take care ATB Rob 😊👍👍
Thank you. Yes, the chirping drives me nuts tbh, I can't wear headphones, it would literally tip me over the edge. 🤣🤣 Always nice to get a silver. Thank you for watching, all the best Jon and Wendy 🙂
Hi Wendy and Jon, not a bad hunt at all, so many deep targets and coins, love that buckle and a cheeky silver makes any day, take care you two. ATB Bill and Julie X 👍😊❤
Hi , those targets were really deep, trouble is deep targets mean deep holes lol. And yes, it was good to get a little silver 👍. Thank you for watching and commenting. Cheers from Jon and Wendy 🙂
Yet again sweeeeeeeeett shiny stuff 😂 but that buckle could be older .....an I'm going to say 3+ for a spill lol💚 take care guys 💚
Hi there , thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, that buckle may well be older tbh. Oooo, you are in between me and Jon on the pocket spill - Jon says 2 and I say 4. That was a very diplomatic answer @Craigchickenofthewoods 🤣. All the best from us both 🙂
Well done guys.💙💙
Hi , Thank you for watching and commenting. As always, we very much appreciate it - Cheers from Jon and Wendy 🙂

Hi Wendy & Jon , why am i still not getting notifications of your videos i have un-subbed and re-subbed twice now anyway better late than never , plenty of nice little finds and a lovely official 😂pocket spill and then a pocket knife and i think you are right about everybody having one i can remember when i was a kid it seemed as though all the other kid's had one and so did the adults , anyway another good video hope all is good with you both best wishes and ATB Rob .
We are not sure how youtube work but we get no promotion from them and our channel rarely appears on any searches for metal detecting videos, we have tried all sorts and it makes no difference, some channels appear constantly but not ours, we have decided that it's because Jon is disabled, tbh people aren't really interested in things like that, it isn't very commercial, and the attitude of anyone connected with metal detecting, dealers and manufacturers etc, that we have contacted regarding our metal detecting while disabled and in a powerchair etc has been very negative. Jon even contacted detector dealers before we tried using a wireless XP Deus to get advice as to whether it would even be possible because of EMI from the detector and powerchair, and he was told that he wouldn't be able to do it, and that was by the main XP dealer in the UK, mentioning no names. Would it not have been a more constructive thing to invite us along to their showroom and try what we were proposing, but no, it was easier just to tell us that it would be impossible to do it. That is an example of what we are up against, and the reason we get zero support from anyone apart from a few followers like yourselves on our channel. We thought that XP may jump on it because of disabled inclusivity and the fact that their machine is the only machine that we could use to do our disabled detecting, but alas a big fat NO. 😂😂
