6 tbsp cooking oil
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1 medium onion sliced
Curry leaves
1 tsp ginger & 1 tsp garlic paste
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp garam masalla
2 tbsp curry powder
3-4 green chilli
3 tomato blend well.
Fresh corriander for garnishing.
If you will put the meat in the pressure then add salt, 1/4 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp ginger & garlic paste + 1/4 cup of water, wait for 3 whistle.

There is a list of spices that we don’t use in Mauritius comparing to other spices in different part of the world. Some places people put spices in almost every cooking they do daily. I have plenty of friends who is not Mauritian, they cook very different from us. The taste of our homemade curry powder is very different & taste different too. The list is too long. It depends on the quantity of rice & it need to be on very low flame. But for 1 cup of rice check it & if it is dry in about 10-15 mins you need to turn the gas off.( it could be more or less than 15 mins but once dried its ready) please don’t forget to share the recipe thank you
