    You swabbed the neck correctly but the main body you did it the opposite way. You placed the weight through the neck tenon. The correct way to use it is through the bell . Be carefull Sir.

    So, if you're gonna make a video about upgrading your clarinet, it helps to have someone who's actually good on clarinet. Nearly all of the upgrades discussed are related to the tone you get from the instrument, but when the person demonstrating can't get a good tone to begin with, everything that comes after is essentially useless. Granted, the actual information you gave is accurate, and certainly is helpful for a beginner or advancing player, but the playing that accompanies it is not helpful in the slightest

      Music has incredible amounts of personal opinions. So we don't take offense to saying he isn't a good player. But the truth of the industry is that 99% of the people we work with are beginners. Having a world class professional player go through these levels of upgrades isn't something these students will be experiencing for a very long time. If there is no difference in sound with our good buddy Cole playing here, then that might raise a question of what is worth upgrading to. Personally we hear a large difference over the course of the video. But again music is definitely something that is unique to everyone.

    It's very difficult to decide when you play so out of tune. Might be that you know a lot of Saxophons, but you should have asked a topprof to try it.

    To answer some of the comments... The heads aren't chinese they're CS black dots, super expensive and some pros left them there actually they sound amazing. And... the chrome work level... the cymbal holder, actually better than a tom mount in such configurations?! Removable spurs, internal dampeners - goodbye moongels and tape forever! I mean, value is in the eyes of the beholder I guess. To me this comes with all the bells and whistles a pro working drummer like me would want. Also those aren't the heads that came with the kit at the time, those are the heads that Pearl think pair best with the shells (apparently they ship a lot of their new snare with CS black dots, which is a little weird for brush work but they seem to like them a lot those days). They were shipped with Emperor coated apparently in the 60's. Finally, they were basically tuned out of the box. This to me is a 4-5K drum kit unboxing experience. As fas as I care, Pearl can be using the trees in my backyard if they think they're going to sound amazing. I have "real" mahogany drums that do NOT sound as good btw. Those are ply shells. The phenolics, for twice the price, as a bunch of wood fibers put together with resin. It just sounds more fancy than "luan" and so you don't have the "this is overpriced" comments on them. Ridiculous.

    • @anguse2068

      No, those are genuine Remo USA “CS clear” (aka black dot) heads.

    • @jas_bataille
      @jas_bataille Рік тому

      Can't believe you're looking at genuine freaking black dots and saying this. WTF. They aren't UT, their Pearl-branded for the kit. Pearl have the best stock heads in the industry IMHO, their wood-fibreglass shells are equipped with genuine pinstripes. Whatever...

    The cheap Chinese heads and lack of tom mount make this kit a poor value. But they look good and are well made.
