Milling a Driftwood Log #2 Such WOW

Winter Muskrat Trapping ✔️
Переглядів 9243 роки тому
This was my first year trapping muskrats. I didn't start till the water was frozen, this lead me to lots of frustration. But through perseverance and lots of traps I did manage to connect. It was fun to use the hagz brackets and the sudden valley rat clips. Both methods were easy enough to use. One of my favorite methods that I used was the bottom edge set. With the bottom edge set you can also...

50 years ago, our store-bought drags were made from one piece of 3/8" smooth rod about 3' long. The best explanation I can manage is the rod was bent in the middle to create an eye as small as possible. Then about 6" of the two legs below the eye were twisted together. Then the remaining legs were bent in opposite up curves, and opposite from each other. Each leg was ground to about 60 degrees. They worked very well and only weighed about a pound each. I didn't use them often because if the dogs got on one of many logging trails they'd run forever.

I really enjoyed your video, you do a great job’s and you speak clearly and everything is perfect but i have a great recommendation and thats carry you two 5 gal buckets to your set one with traps in it and on your Rat trap , glue you a little piece of wood in bottom of box just the right length so your Rat trap doesn’t slide back and forth!! Keep up the great work, the buckets will keep your trips back and forth to the truck at a minimum, i trap coyotes in Texas and they work great for carrying what ya need!! I subscribed to your channel!!

I was so proud of my Minnkota the first season. Worked great. Next season it was gunked up with rust way worse than yours. Wouldn't work at all. Mine never spent a night outdoors. Kept it in its own special spot in the basement on a stand. Inspector #13 at the MinnKota plant was drunk or there is a major design flaw. Mine was too far gone. Never used it again. After that experience I didn't have the confidence to purchase another MinnKota brand trolling motor.

I just did this with a D Handle shovel that I got at a Garage Sale. The blade was fully rusted from exposure and the poly coat on the handle was nearly all pealed off. After sanding the handle smooth, I didn't get as deep of a stain from the Linseed Oil on the handle, but that may be the hardwood or the fact I only have one coat on it. I'm hoping it will be dry in a few hours and I can give it a try. Thanks for taking the time to make a video. It gives me a baseline to compare with my results.

You can also divide your strand with knots to do the ranger-bead thing where you have a section 1-9 and then the 2nd section is to count in 10s. Have a third for sets of 50s or 100s!

Can 357 cases that are too short be trimmed down to 38 special? I bought a bag of “once fired” 357 and they are mixed headstamps and some are larger or shorted than the other. If they can I definitely would keep them separated.

Was like a light bulb went off. I’m also surprised that there is only one comment from a “Karen” complaint about one thing or another. lol

Turn your log stops around with the slant facing the log this is why they're cutting a 45 so it is easier for the log to slide as it's being turned instead of being stabbed by the point

i use a lot of the same Lee case prep tools but with a twist. I chuck the case length cutter in my drill press and just let it run slow( have upgraded to adding a right angle attachment so the cutter is horizontal instead of vertical) and have the case holder in a screwdriver handle. I also drilled 2 shallow holes in the front of my bench by the drill press and drove the Lee chamfer tools in them, one each way. So i chuck up a piece of brass, push it onto the trimmer, spin it against the outside then inside chamfer tools and un-chuck it into the finished brass bin. Much faster and easier on you hand and wrist
