The e-p7 autofocus is not the fastest in m43 world. The gx9 for example is faster. But it's the size, that sells it.

Im more focused on video. The camera shoots way higher resolution then 4k. The 4k function is a "low" resolution for pictures

Usually it is activated with afs. But it is not fast enough to keep up the zoom speed. You may try to zoom a little slower.

Yeah. It was a windy day. Audio is "okay" without wind. Still not comparable to dedicated audio gadgets

It depends on the needs. Small - very cheap - APS c - 4k Video? Rise the price or the size and you can find better equipment.

well i tested both with the fast Olympus 45 f1.8. lens. While my kids are running outside i had better results on the gx9. But the gx9 is about ~150g heavier. And the difference in output is not that big.

The autofocus speed depends on the lens. also you got different autofocus settings. AFS and AFC for me AFC is little faster. But sometimes AFS does the trick...

There is video stabilization. For this range of zoom it is decent.

I haven't tested Fujifilm yet. But I might do so in the near future. Em-5 III is a top pic. But the best camera is the one you always carry around. So after a smartphone it is the p7 because of the small size

Olympus M5 III + 75-300 Lens. Nikon P1000 + P950 Panasonic FZ1000 not sure if enough Zoom for you. More expensive would be full frame Sony A7 iii or newer with Sony or Zeiss Tele zoom

Well it you dont like the low light performance. You might consider a faster lens. The sigma 56 f 1.4 or Leica 25mm f1.4 could fit your needs

Oh snap, sad to hear that. Hope mine lasts as long as my GX9 did. But I really enjoy the small size and weight. That's all about "micro" four thirds for me. Even though i do test heavier lenses and cameras from time to time 😅

I would definitely go for the E-P7 It is not as heavy and has the more recent 20MP Sensor. But yeah the E-P7 is more expensive, usually. Crazy thing, the Panasonic GX9 is more or less the same as the Olympus E-P7. Both are one class above the E-PL10

I used this camera all day long on a hot 30C° day. Walking around, filming the kids, changed lenses. Did some longer movie clips. No heat issues within this time. But I didn't test a 30minute+ clip. Outdoor Interview in bright sunlight could cause a heat issue.

With a more recent MFT Camera, you get better focus speed. Even with the 12-32 Panasonic lens. So yeah, the camera focus speed is the slower. It is faster in FullHD but still not at the 2020+ MFT Camera focus speed.

@@rockinroller59 partially true. The a6000 is 3 years older and a faster focus. But lacks 4k Video. Anyway the gx800 from Panasonic is more then 6 years old by now. The focus from the gx80 or the Gx9 also small Panasonic MFT cameras are way faster and more accurate. Also both do have the awesome sensor stabilization.

What exactly do you search for? What's missing? While filming "wide" is for 1x ( main lens )

I totally agree. This camera is about 1 inch sensor combined with decent zoom. In all other aspects, modern smartphones are simply better. Manual focus, yes. Filter, no.

Yes, it even show the new crop range automatically. It is 1050mm full frame equivalent in 4k video but you also lose a bit in close distance. ~30%

Panasonic has always been known for really really true to life colors they are flatter as well like in reality, sony and canon saturate thing more

For a regular bridge camera, I'd suggest a 1 inch sensor sized one. They are lighter and smaller. Of course around 10x zoom instead of 125x. But the overall quality is better, if mega Zoom ist not necessary.

@@pictainment I fully agree with you. I think the super zoom is a novelty that quickly wears off. 400 to 600 mm is enough for 95% of us.

@@michaelflinn7784 yeah, sadly the 1 inch bridge cameras have less. For wildlife and astro huge zoom range do not wear off. But in regular daily use or travel it is absolutely not necessary in 99% of all cases
