Battle of Culblean in Rhyme
Christina Bruce, at Kildrummy Castle in 1335, rallied the Scots against English occupiers during the Second War of Scottish Independence. Learning of an English force led by David Strathbogie, Christina coordinated with Andrew Murray, her husband, and a seasoned Scottish commander. On November 30, 1335, Murray's forces ambushed Strathbogie's troops at the Battle of Culblean. The Scots, utilizing guerrilla tactics and superior knowledge of the terrain, decisively defeated the English. Strathbogie was killed, bolstering Scottish morale. This victory, orchestrated by Christina's strategic prowess and Murray's military acumen, significantly weakened English control in Scotland and invigorated the Scottish resistance.
