A new channel looking at vehicles. I know that's a bit of a wide-open aspiration and it will take some time for me to build anything significantly useful. I like cars, vans, camper vans, motorhomes, motorbikes and aeroplanes. So, could be a bit of everything over time. If I do a review, I will try to think of it as if I were buying it and mention he upsides and compromises wherever I spot them. Appreciate comments. Thank you for taking some time to visit.

Go Cycle G4i Folding Ebike First Impressions
What’s the front bag please?
It is the Brompton Metro Messenger Bag Large
You are so kind and awesome! Love the Brompton g line content!
Thanks so much!
Great video and very interesting listening to your views, more so as another mature rider. Its the little things like when your wearing gloves and trying to close pockets on the bag or that extra gear would be nice, which all could be resolved if the people selling the products actually used them before putting to market. Look forward to further rides and thoughts.
Yes, I agree. Also, it feels like some of the past improvements (or quality standards) with products have been forgotten or somehow lost in the mists of time - or perhaps just cheaper shortcuts are being made on many things regardless of user experience. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’ve converted my G line to 16spd as I have done to my P line front derailleur with 53/44 chainring
That sounds very interesting... So, you have a deralilleur on the front and control it from another controller on the handlebar? Be interesting to see a video of that setup... Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great bike, considering getting myself one but not sure if the foldability is worth the extra cost for me. Definitely seems useful for spontaneous car trips though versus a regular bike.
Always gets difficult if we try justifying any of these types of purchases, I agree. I often think the fold aspect is undervalued for non commuters. I suspect one of the reasons Bromptons last so long is that people fold them and keep them indoors rather than other full-sized bikes often left outdoors or in garages or sheds.
🦔 Thank you so much ❤
Does it have a throttle mode on Brompton or just assist great video
This one is the 8 speed manual version. There is a G Line 4 speed electric version too which I believe is assist but I haven't test ridden one. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It does have a throttle (called legs) 😂
Would be interested to see whether the G Line is practical to take on a bus, not for commuting but for occasional trips.
Good question - I suspect yes but then again, it's been mannny years since I used a bus so I dont know whether they still have that section where you can store prams etc that they used to have. It is a little heavier than the 16" Brompton and similar weight to other 20" folding bikes. Depending on what the buses are like where you live, I know that a lot of routes now seem to have what look like large mini buses rather than single deck, double deck traditional buses. I did a quick search online and it looks like they can be taken on buses if they fit the designated luggage area but if too busy, the driver may not aloow it. May be worth looking-up bus provider's website whether, in your area, they have buses that allow folding bikes. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Bit clumsy on bus without disabled section. It’s ok on train in buggy/disabled section ok.
@@bazzaroberts8748 Thanks for the note. It wouldn't be a regular thing or in rush hour, but would be great to be able to extend range using a bus with an ordinary luggage area. Just trying to work out whether it would be feasible even if ungainly. At least the luggage rack on a bus has no shelf above unlike trains. Would be interested to hear of any experiences taking the G-line on public transport other than buggy/disabled section though that might be a possibility.
@@brianlander3712 Its the size or even smaller than most wheel luggage cases so I say take it on the bus no problem. Its what it was made for. Great for the train as well. Are we gonna ban people bringing suitcases on the bus now? Nope, so I say RIDE ON and fold up to get on the bus when needed.
@@bazzaroberts8748Take it you own a G Line? I'm worried about this but then again I've never taken my C Line on a bus.
Nice looking bike, although I thought you ruined the look somewhat by adding unnecessary lights.
Yeah, the collection of lights don't look great but if I do use it at night, I like to have the bike illuminated.
@@techwheelstalktimethere's no such thing as unnecessary lights... 👍
Nice looking bike! Thanks for sharing this video. Looking forward to more videos about the Brommie G. Subscribed.
Appreciate the comment, you watching and subscribing - now I just need a little settled weather and I will get out n about on it... Thank you.

@@JohnMFloresI'm seriously contemplating getting one myself. I need to do a review of the Origami Swift first! 😅
@@thetds101 😂 I love the sleek look of the Swift!
Why did you do a video with that disgusting graffiti in the background?
I hadn't read the graffiti and hadn't realised it is disgusting if it is. It's simply a good stopping point when it is windy.
The graffiti was fine. Stop crying and enjoy the review...
@@techwheelstalktimeIgnore him, no worries, it was just fine, thanks for the video
Great video I also have just bought a G Line and live in your area, noticed the area you were riding, so I will look out for you on my travels, take care and look forward to the next video 😁🚴♂️👍
Looks like we both decided to buy one just as the weather turned cold. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Like the colour of this one, looks great. How do you find the gear ratio? 👍
It feels a little like 4 low gears that are very similar and then 4 higher gears that allow more speed. Which makes it useful for climbing as well as on the flat. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@ Thanks for the reply. Cheers 👍
@@techwheelstalktimeis it quite fast on the flat? Just wonder if it's sluggish or fairly quick due to the bigger wheel size.
@@Jrw_SB Wouldn't say sluggish at all but equally it does feel like it could do with one extra gear if you wanted to push harder. The tyres do add some additional resistance compared to regular street tyres. I think they have the balance somewhere near just right for the type of bike but I'd suggest that you test ride one because it's subjective... Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great to see a 'real world' G Line video at last. Do you also have a 16in Brompton? Wondering how you're finding climbing capabilities. Also, which cycle path were you on?
Hello. It was a bit short on the riding bit and next time I will take my action camera setup so there's more of the ride. I've had 4 previous 16" Bromptons. Climbing seemed pretty easy. The path is from Huddersfield to Mirfield in West Yorkshire Route 66. Thanks for watching and commenting.
브롬톤 G라인 멋있어요👍👍
Thank you for your video, At the end of the video you were saying nice things about it, saying you have had not problems and yet.... you had problems with your brake saying it needs 'bleeding' what ever that means. As a 67 year old woman I have been considering this bike but the problem is where do you go when you have little 'niggles' that need correcting ie brake...... In some ways although this bike is made in the UK getting repairs etc may prove to be just as problematic as having a Chinese equivalent! Whilst these bikes are nice and would suit my needs being light enough to take on the train, I do wonder if it would be better to buy a bike from the likes of Halfords for ongoing customer support.....
This is a difficult one to decide. It wasn't so much a problem with the front brake as it felt spongy. I have however just bought a Brompton G Line (non-electric) bike which is great but the front brake on that is spongy too. So, perhaps the front brakes on these disc-type brakes are generally spongy. It maybe worth test-riding a few different bikes to see which one you feel fits for you first before commiting to buying one given the high prices. I would say that reliability is important. Brompton and GoCycle seem to have far better build quality than cheaper bikes I have tried. Which stands to reason - you generally (not always) get what you pay for. I have gone for the Brompton G line because it's now got 20" wheels and chunkier tyres. Making it better for riding along canal paths or tree-rooted cycle paths. I haven't however gone for the electric version. Partly because of cost and partly becuase of previous early experience with reliability of the smaller 16" wheel electric version (which Im now told has been substantially improved). Hopefully some of this helps and all the best with your future cycling...
And sorry, I missed the customer support bit... It's a good point re GoCycle if the electrics need attention but for brakes and things I think Halfords, Evans and local bike shops would be happy to service or repair it. For Brompton, there is a wide ranging series of bike stores who would look after you, but again for anything electric, there is going to be some risk as these components are still made overseas.
England does not have the best weather, unfortunately. The Gocycle is a good bike that is a lot sturdier than it looks.
Thanks for watching and commenting - It's a nice bike and the only downside for me was the need for more gears...
Did you manage to find an underslung gas tank solution for the 184?
Hello. I decided not to buy the van. There was a company in the north west who said they could do it (but I cannot recall the company name), and the space under the van seemed to allow it.
About to buy a new Swift campervan and considered everything except the gas cylinder because never thought it would was an issue until I came across videos such as this one. It’s totally mad that calor gas are discontinuing the 3.9kg and even worse that campervan manufacturers have done nothing to address this. So you could end up buying a £70k + van and have no gas.
Agree that it’s too white and sterile and would benefit from some colour and wood finish. IAlso the locker design with the up and over lockers seems unnecessarily complicated.
Yeah, the hinges on those lockers are excellent but it feels like one bigger locker with a single door would be more practical and usable.
I’ve lived over 230 nights in a 680 over the last 2.5 years and it’s the best van I’ve ever had bar none, even a custom van I once was stupid enough to commission, the lockers just need to well organised, the fridge is very versatile and actually doesn’t have the draw back of ‘spilling’ all the chilled air every time you open it, and the white interior just never dates, you can change the whole thing with with just a few colour changes, and it’s dead easy to keep clean…what I have changed is the rock hard rear seats, I’ve had the seats re-upholstered in leather to my own design, bigger solar panels and lithium batteries and I’ve added shelves to a few of the big cabinets, apart from that its brilliant, just saying !
كم السعربالدولار
Hi there. I looked at the Carerra which I like but if I recall they had white edged seats which I can't see staying clean for long. We bought new and don't regret it and I guess if you buy a high-spec van you need to accept losing some money but enjoy the extras. The thing with coach built is you're on the road very quickly and enjoying the van even if it's not the 'dream' van. Thanks for sharing.
I agree, there's a lot to be said about things being in place and ready to go v a lot of time overcoming some of the complexities of fit n finish. One of the main challenges is not getting carried away on the money side of things. Seems very easy to spend money like it's gone out of fashion and balancing that with later regrets :-). Thank you for your thoughts and insight.
I've seen nearly all this years UA-cam video's at the nec motorhome and caravan show, and this year there has been far more video's than ever before, seen nearly every vehicle at the show, don't need to travel to Birmingham anymore, i have to say your video was the clearest, best quality video out of all the video's I've seen, Thanks
Thank you. That's very kind of you. I wasn't too pleased with it as I was all over the place with no real structure and realised afterwards that I'd started talking about something and got distracted without finishing it at times. P s. I mean L.P.G filling points
Thanks for this video. That's a nice van. I'd prefer the practicality of a diesel heater. I'd hate to run out of gas on the first night of a winter trip. Underslung tanks are ok but more and more forecourts are doing away with them in favour of E.V charging points. Something you may need to think about when choosing a van !!
Yes, I agree, it all needs to be part of, let's be frank, a big decision when buying a new van especially with prices as they are right now. It would make the decision easier if the two industries formed a forum and expedited a commercial arrangement of some sort that gave some guarantees about the future supplies of each option. I don't know if they've had discussions about such an arrangement but it does seem like a territorial disconnect where there's no cohesive leadership from the manufacturers to drive a sustainable future for these gas systems in vans. Yet, some still keep building them recommending cylinders that are no longer available. Potential customers left either uninformed or scrambling for a solution at additional cost for them. I'm not one for regulation but it does feel like the customer isn't at the heart of what's going on... I agree also that a diesel heater and water heater would be a safer bet right now. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks for that. A couple of things spring to mind…….why do most of the manufacturers vehicles have the same boring layouts……I often wonder if they actually spend time driving around in one. Then perhaps they would realise how boring they all are. I have a 23 year old Murvi Morello on the Ducato base. It ticks all the boxes for me and everyone who looks inside has the same feeling. The other thing is prices….,.far too high. 🤔🚍⚓️🇬🇧👍
I agree, the prices have become insanely high. I appreciate that materials and base vehicles have increased. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will change for the better in the near future. And on the look and feel, there does seem to be a repetition of design. Thanks for watching and commenting.
If you're happy with what you have then why change and pay the silly prices that they are now. Anyone who bought new 3or4 years ago can now probably sell for what they paid. I wouldn't buy knowing that someone had that amount of time and it cost them nothing. Good luck to them. And as for the people who are willing to pay for a new van then " cost of living crisis WHAT COST OF LIVING CRISIS"
Have you thought about the safefill 5Kg refillable gas bottle if that fits existing space. But as you are correct, manufacturers have known about Calor, and not done the changes required,
Hello. I think the only bottle sizes that fit in the space are actually smaller than the 3.9kg propane bottles, somewhat significantly so. The CampingGaz ones and the refillable ones that fit are smaller. I just want the manufacturers to instigate a solution that is fit for purpose where their vehicle layouts have the physical space elsewhere to allow them to do so. I'm really thinking of those vans that rely heavily on gas. Alternatively, switch to diesel for hot water and heating, reducing the gas consumption at a lower level where smaller bottles may be acceptable. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I have a UA-cam video showing how I fitted two Gaslow cylinders in my Autotrail Experdition 66 . The advantage of this setup is that I do in fact have three cylinders and if I can’t find a fuel station that sells auto gas I can take them to my local gas supplier and get them filled up there. A fraction of the cost of exchange cylinders.
Hello. Yes, I watched your video and think it's a great video showing the option. I'd just like a solution ideally to be in place in a van that's going to cost me c£79k. It feels like the manufacturers have a much better chance of fixing the issue to make new vans ready for larger bottles or refillable solutions than having the additional expense and work post-purchase. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@techwheelstalktime Yes I have to agree. I went to the NEC show on Tuesday and was surprised to see how many vans still only had lockers for two 3.9 cylinders
There are other companies such as Flogas that supply 3.9kg bottles, or you could install a gaslow system. As I understand it, users of Gaslow claim the initial conversion cost is recovered over time through savings in the price of the refillable LPG rather than swapping bottles.
Yes, they would be options post-purchase of a vehicle. I'm trying to get commitment that the company manufacturing the van won't say that my modifications in some way impair or negate the warranty given the major cost of these vehicles these days. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Why do you want bigger gas bottles in a campervan. The use of a diesel heater negates high gas useage, leaving the gas for cooking only means the gas lasts a very long time. We only have a camping gaz 907 cylinder and a spare, I rarely have to change it over. If the campervan has gas heating, i wouldn't buy it, it is totally inconvenient.
That was true in my VWT6.1 camper, I agree. In these vans however pretty much everything is reliant on gas while you are not plugged-in to mains as far as I know. So, from experience, the CG907s are great for light hob use but the 6kg propane cylinders more appropriate if you do any winter visits to places where there is no electrical hookup. So, I have learned to try and get the right setup for each person at the start ideally. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Good vlog. I’m off to the show on Friday and will be looking at the S&L, Vantage and Wildax converters. Similar money but bespoke quality builds. There’s also Consort who are unfortunately not at the show. Worth looking….
