Before 2024 ended, there was one last thing I wanted to do... that was to land my first Common Carp on fly. It's amazing what you can learn and do with UA-cam these days. Knowledge is so accessible nowadays, and this is a great way to start.
This opens up my UA-cam channel for more possibilities next year and I can film more fly content for you guys. It's definitely not a common way to catch carp but its 100% fun.

Hervey Bay has been an experience, their off season fishing is not to bad. Plenty of fish can still be caught off peak, anything from Tailor, Blue Salmon, Jew fish to school Mackerel. Any where along the coast will be fine. Southeast or Southwest. If you need gear in term for shore jigging. The boys at Isofishinglifestyle are the one to see!!!!

I have fished that bridge a few times now and haven't caught anything, granted I am new to fishing but do you have any tips to actually catch?
If the water is flowing to the city, fish the side I was on. Throw anything like the muss or 2.5inch soft plastics at them. (bare in mind if there is a lot of people fishing bait) The spot has been hammer already! Good luck and have fun!!!

Hi David, I went out off the Moorabbee Boat Ramp a week ago with a sounder attached to my Hobie Pro angler 12 and trolled a range of lures for ~ 2 hours. Lots of fish between 2-5m but only 1 x bite and 1 x hookup and loss. Still, it was good to get out on the water Cheers, DOC.

@fishingwithdavid I'd love to get a bfs set up just wondering how you feel your one goes ? What distance you cast with what weight lures and compared to other bfs set ups how you'd rate what you're using? Sorry lots of questions man it's an area of fishing I'd like to get in to
@@raffaelescarfo7254 not a problem man, the rods from aliexpress. On a five gram head I can get at least 25m with a cast. The rod isn't to bad but if you do hook a big fish, the line does load onto the blank. But so far I've been super happy with it. Specially when its costing me pretty much nothing.

Although you can release them the guide strongly recommends that you don't. I never do. I use the smaller ones as bait for the bigger ones. They are voracious cannibals. @@mootazz
I think you are refering to the NSW rules, here in Victoria we are allowed to release them.
