    I noticed you look up a lot to align with your top camera. Maybe a dot or something on the floor to aid with this? So you can align with the camera and watch their feet, etc, all at once.

      This dummy was actually given to me by a past student who used it as a coat hanger. 🤣 good for me! He had bought it from a company that is now closed.

    So you're just aiming at his center and then lifting the elbow after?

    • @EnergyWingChun
      @EnergyWingChun 28 днів тому

      assuming the same position of starting with tan being pressured and slight collapse, you will want to maintain forward supple energy from your elbow to your opponent's center. Then without tensing at the contact point move your elbow up and then drive thru with the bong sao structure! Give it a try with a friend and see how it works but just remember you don't want to muscle it. The more you muscle it or tense up...that energy will end up pushing you back. You can see the example with my student at 6:40 in the video. Happy training!!

    Hi, I watched this video through a translator. I hope I got it right, I'll say one thing. I teach students the pak sao technique with the elbow necessarily lowered, and in this case, an attack directed below the palm is easily repelled with the wrist, and this is not a problem. the secret is to use bai jeong correctly, and which block will reflexively respond to the attack is not so important

    My friend, do you think the speed of moving your body is faster than the speed of going back and forth with a jab fist? And if your timing doesn't work right, you are right in front of the cross. In theory, many things seem practical, but martial arts have been evolving for years to reach something that is used in competitions.

    • @EnergyWingChun
      @EnergyWingChun Місяць тому

      Agreed...jab or punch moves faster than you can move your body which is why control is vital. Thanks for the watch!

    It’s funny how much one’s Wing Chun is based off your own current psychological state. Forcing things into place vs listening and finding your place.

    Wing Chun structure is based on tensegrity. It's the science behind how it works. Once you internalize keeping your joints open it's a different world.

    I see the triangle on the floor. We have diamonds with a line in the middle N to S, and E to W and call them Lanka's. I understand the triangle is for footwork, but what do you call them in Wing Chun?

  • @jamescantrell5639
    @jamescantrell5639 2 місяці тому

    touching is very important. Your nervous system transmits signals much faster than your eyes. it's why we practice arm holds during drills. It's an attempt to control, but, the physical touch allows you to react much faster if your opponent moves, shifts, or attacks.

  • @jamescantrell5639

    I practice Pentjak Silat Bukti Nagara, and sometimes it's really hard to explain why something works, or doesn't work without bringing out a human bone body chart and getting into a 3 year course about skeletal structure. You just have to show them.

    Shortest distance be between two points. Why would he go from low to high. It violates the principle economy of motion. There is an openining the lower gate whe he can go directly without giving you a chance to react. Just my opinion but good explanation on centerline theory.

    • @EnergyWingChun
      @EnergyWingChun 3 місяці тому

      That's not a bad observation however economy of motion only refers to the fastest point from pt A to pt B (straight line) where as we need to take into account not just economy of motion but efficiency of that movement. Because my arm is below the northstar and his as well...there is a chance I can defend it hence we movement is to move where there is less potential to be blocked and that takes economy of motion (straight line) and efficiency of movement. Thanks for the question and watch!
