    Something i have included as a support for myself is self-talk. I read that the mind believes what it is told. I speak out-loud, but not necessarily loudly, to myself. I have”I am” phrases which i chant often. I am grounded. I am rooted. I am centered. I am balanced. I am strong. I am well. I am loved. I am grateful. They seem to focus my mind and indeed center me. I also watch my diet very carefully. Move more, exercise, and do what i can for myself - not fall into a ‘victim’ mentality trap. And i do vestibular exercises i found online. I continue to need meclizine at times, too, but less need for valium and anti-nausea meds. Self care s paramount. Managing it is a daily list item. (The local vestibular clinic literally does not even have a wait list - they are that full up and busy. Question is “Why?” Why are so many suffering this disability? May be another topic for you all?)

      The first step is to check with your primary physician to rule out other medical issues that may be of concern. Vestibular issues or dizziness are not usually the first line of diagnosis. A lot of other medical issues including heart, brain, circulation, medications etc can also result into dizziness. Usually, vestibular disorder will be after those basic issues have been ruled out. We hope the information is valuable to you. Thanks for contacting us.

    I found that my dizziness from anxiety stemmed from drinking too much caffeine. My anxiety would cause me to overconsume caffeine, which impacted dopamine and cortisol in my body, leading to headaches and dizziness. I now do mindfulness meditation instead, using the book "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels. I'm way more calm now

    I am going on five years with MdDS after a plane trip. I went to Mount Sinai and did gyrostim. I have done everything else too. Nothing stops it. It is a horrible thing to have, and I am afraid it is for the rest of my life. What do you do to help people with MdDS?

    • @therapyconsultants915
      @therapyconsultants915 Рік тому

      Hello Romeobb377. Not sure Gyrostim is the best approach to this condition. This was caused by sensory overstimulation to begin with and a much better approach is sensory suppression. I will recommend getting another opinion from a nearby vestibular therapist based on this concept.

    • @seeyouonthefly2024
      @seeyouonthefly2024 Рік тому

      @@therapyconsultants915 Thank you for responding. I went to vestibular therapy, 3 spine specialists, 3 neurologists, tried all the meds they threw at me like Zoloft, Cymbalta, Valium, Effexor, Diamox, and Clonazepam. Real CBD, reflexology, had the MRIs, and I could list more. I walked onto a 6 hour night flight as a normal person and by the next day, MdDS. I know many women all over the world with it. Some get lucky and it goes away but usually comes back. I have not had that experience. Almost all of us have thyroid disease as well and were in peri-menopause. There is a link to all of this, I agree that sensory suppression is the way to go. Dr. Fox who does the gyrostim has had success with MdDS patients. Doesn't hurt to try. No one wants to sway, bob, bounce and think he or she is moving 24/7. If you have any luck with this brain damage out of thin air, please let us know.
