I just bought a 1997 Ski-doo Formula 500. Love the way it handles, even the the style of the handle bars. Very comfortable. Compared to my 1995 Polaris 500 EFI snowmobile.

I might buy one are they good and reliable

Looks like a ton of fun. I've got a 1985 Moto 4 I'm in the process of getting running again after sitting for 15 years or so. Thankfully it's got good compression and spark so it's just odds and ends now. I'm excited to tear up the trail on it soon.

That was a good year and Ski-Doo made some really good looking if not the best looking sleds. I know some people were running the Formula SLS’ and Formula 500’s in the 600cc class and were dominating the class.

I think it was loading up with gas because of exactly what you brought up. Those filters. Belt dust, Debree, Snow, Water Etc gets caked on those filters and restricts them. Then at high speed, It floods. Find an original air box for it. And you'll be fine ;) Those filters you had on are nooo good. It wasn't your primer that was causing your problem.. And as for your back flap. YOu have that track with longer lugs. JUst trim off about an inch and a half off your flap. And that problem will be fixed too :)

Just found your page, it's like I'm going back in time. I live in southern Maine, and went from a 97 formula to a rev 600 ho also haha.

You'll want to figure out that battery problem cause for some odd reason in the 2005 rev models, if the battery died it won't start even with the pull cord which is foolish that skidoo would do that. When do you need the pull start? WHEN THE BATTERY DIES, thanks skidoo.

My 670 sputters on bottom end but top is a rocket, have a 99 670 HO MXZ But your clutches arent shifting out on top, thats why keeps revs up

Get some isoflex and get those bearings behind the primary clutch dude. Easy job and makes a big difference.
