Thank you for this!
Pharmacy was dragging on??? Where did you read that or did you just decide to pass on blame to another profession 🙄
"It could be worse" I learned this as an ICU patient. From this I learned thankful and grateful. Thankful is not worse, and grateful for my current condition. 400lbs in my back leaving me with 18 broken bones and a punctured lung (10 vertibrae, 7 ribs, and left scapula. Plus a lot of other damage) I am now working through nursing school to be an ICU nurse myself.
Well said. 🩵✊🏻Striking proves that they need you. It is in the company’s best interest to negotiate sustainable working conditions to keep you.
I had my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday, and they sedated me with Ketamine. Holy S#@t the K-hole caught me hard! I became a painting against the wall. It was incredible. Best feeling in the world.
ICU bro over here from Illinois (CICU to be exact), keep it up fellas, this episode is dopeeee
So dealing with patients , time management , more surveys for nursing schools. Duly noted.
The CNAs can make the difference on knowing vital signs trends, to alarm the nurse.
Bias lyrics, in cpr, the RR ought to be what is normal for their age, and to bag or breat after the compression, NIT on compression! The bagnask volume is 1000 mls, half is 500 MLS which is the normal tidal volume for an adult or a big teenager! Teaso why it ought to be that it's nirmal RR is to prevent or treat acidosis in stagnant circulation and hypoventilation.
When their breaths are short and sharp that means liquid in the lings with RR > 24. Aperson should be breathing at 14-16. Those sharp breath can be silent, the breaths sound should give you a clue! Do an egg and an X Ray, it is usually a silent slow CHF coming up!
I've seen CNAs tell a patient to take a deep breath when their sats are low!
Vital signs trends are very important to me. The CNAs ought to be trained at looking at vital signs trends.
I thought they were going to explain the pharmacology not just describe a k hole why is it impossible to find information on it?
I was in the Multiverse
If I woke up and I saw this guy as my doctor I would crap my pants . Who do they let into professional schools my God
What is the dudes accent is that slightly Irish or
It’s Polish
I love flight nurses they are very smart and an work alone. I’m a nurse and flied as a ride a long program. I love it. Keep it up 😊
Solid! Glad you enjoyed it
Yep, watching them grow every week until they grew by two cups is definitely satisfying, I went with what I commented about and after the first 20 days or so I went up by one cup! I simply go'ogled Mika Klopsworth's Breast Guide and now they’re fuller and firmer than I expected!
Interesting. I never knew that was a thing
Hey, great job this sounds like it’s all based on Celestine Dessike's Words of Desire. And yes, that’s the material you need to have him resonating with erotic electricity at your will. Sounds like too much IK, but just for the basics it's worth go'ogling her ;)
Interesting. I didn’t know that was a thing
I'm inclined to disagree with her opinion on travelers (at 46:45). I can't imagine that these healthcare systems "save money with travelers" because the hospitals are paying a ton more money to these agencies for a nurse, and arguably more than they'd pay a staff nurse. I traveled myself, and I was making upwards of 10K a month on an assignment, which is more than double what I made as a staff nurse in the same position. It's definitely not the agency's paying out our wages, meal vouchers, housing stipends, relocation costs etc... the hospitals shell out a shit ton of money... and sure, a lot of it goes to the nurse they get, but the agencies themselves have their goal profit margins too. As a nurse manager now with access to the budget spreadsheets, I know what we pay or agency and comparing it to what we pay staff... it's signiicantly more. So I can't understand how agency would help save money....
You have a good perspective. In my opinion I’ve thought that since Agency nurses are temporary the hospital saves money not having to pay a nurse year round, including the benefits. I could be wrong but isn’t bringing on a temp for a few months cheaper than having to hire a staff nurse and keep them on?
@@CUPOFNURSES It widely depends on what your staffing needs are.. if your census fluctuates so much that you can't guarantee full time hours for all the nurses you have on staff, it definitely makes more sense to hire agency. However, if your staffing shortage is directly related to low retention rates, it's highly probable that it's due to issues with that facility itself: Poor staff morale, bad working conditions, unsafe practices, poor management in general. These are the hospitals who have travelers all year round. I worked at a hospital where we had a travel nurse, who renewed her contract every 13 weeks like 4 times until the hospital wouldn't allow her to anymore. Bottom line is: It benefits the hospital SO much more if they just listen to the staff and fix all the issues that are deterring nurses from wanting to work there. This is not to disparage agency nurses, but they're more likely to make a mistake, or in some cases not really care enough about the quality of their work. This inherently negatively impacts quality measures and patient outcomes, which then inevitably results in higher rates of grievances/complaints, poor reviews, poor reputation which circles back to... yes you guess it: Nurse referrals/applications. Personally, my philosophy is: Good management curates good work environment, which makes for happy nurses, which leads to good quality care, which leads to positive outcomes for patients then positive reviews, positive reputation, more patient referrals, and more eager nurses looking for work. I believe that the culture in any facility is a direct reflection of the people at the top, and trickles down to the patient.
PS: since I'm here and got your attention lol, I wanted to say thank you or having a platform to talk about this stuff! I'm working on developing a channel myself! so I love seeing other people having the important conversations. If you ever need a guest.. :P I know a guy!
It's a rare case of a business taking a more long-term view: agency / travel nurses are at no risk of unionization and can be let go much more easily than staff nurses. It's not so much a financial move as it is a power play.
Freshly graduated and got sent to work at icu. Havent even touch that place when i was studying and now im the only one out of my batch put to work there and i dont know what to expect and im scared
Hey bro we were all scared in the beginning. You’ll get through it. The anxiety doesn’t fully go away but the feelings of competency do build. You’ll get through it and you got it!
@@CUPOFNURSES yeah 2 weeks in and its fun af, extremely tiring though got assigned to my first patient 5 days ago and i worked an hour and a half passed my shift lol theres just so much to do its overwhelming. Its 2 pm which was the end of my shift but i still havent even started my report lol. But fortunately the other nurses understand since they've gone through the exact same phase when starting out. But now i finally got the hang of it and is able to managed my time properly thankfully
@@CUPOFNURSES and youre right i always stay outside the door before my shift for like 5 minutes to get my anxiety in order lol, it hasnt gone away hopefully soon
🤤 *Promosm*
Nice intro
Thank you
I thought the CCU/ICU would be a good fit for me, but it's incredibly challenging. People assume it's easy because "you only have one or two patients," but they're mistaken. Working in these intense units means your senses need to be heightened for over 12 hours a shift, always in overdrive, not to mention the meticulous documentation required. It's quite literally a game of chess against the patient's illness throughout the shift..
That’s true. The nurses that say ICU is easy have most likely been doing it for years. That being said I don’t think any unit is easy at all. It’s just how you adapt and the type of person you are. Different nurses fit different units and that perfect
That's true. So many choices. I loved the O.R.
Not all medsurge pt is walky talkie 😂😂 maybe sometimes if you get lucky
Yea that’s true. I learned that while floating lol
My sister & I doing this, thanks for the pointers. Loved the video.
Thank you and have fun!
Didn’t see any comments so I wanted to leave one. Nice video Side note: as a barista, you should keep brewing your French Press with the correct proportion of water and grounds the first time, and use a large thermos to keep it hot. Adding more water throughout the day will result in bitter coffee 😊
Ok ok. Appreciate the comment and the coffee knowledge. You’re completely right. Adding more water does make it more bitter. Wish I read your comment sooner lol
this guy is wrong about so many things. the recreational dose of cocaine is not 10 times that of ketamine... it's actually about the same. and intranasal ketamine isn't stronger than IM ketamine.
Ok some good info. He said that he is not an expert at it and has practitioners that run his clinics.
I have never been experiencing being a nurse let alone a charge nurse and they make me charge nurse and i suck at being assertive
I feel you. I know it was a struggle for me in the beginning but it builds over time. You’ll get it!
Stem cells? Thought this was about charge nursing
Little bit of both
Hey guys, can you please do a video about the current state of nursing? Figuring out if it’s for you? I’m a business major or is unsatisfied and wants to explore being a nurse
What’s making you leave business and what’s attracting you to nursing?
Oh wow I remember her! I was her dispatch at her first flight job! 😊
No way! So cool!
medsurg units where I have worked ratios are 6-8 to 1. I worked on a step down with 6 patients. I cant do it anymore. I want to transition to ICU.
That’s a lot of patients. I’d be struggling with that lord for sure. I encourage you to try the ICU or a hospital with better step down ratios.
I am really glad to see men talking about this helping people understand this. It's debilitating pain, I had surgery 6 months ago and its already back. 😢 I don't want to go back on the pill, but it might be needed in addition to diet change and supplements.
Yea it’s a struggle. I see it in a lot of women and similarly to you they go on birth control because the pain is very debilitating
I would like to contact Madison but I dont have social media. Do you have an email address or even possibly a pho ne number for her? Thank you so much!
I don’t know that I formation but I’m sure you can try to Google her name
Where are the cons?
The cons are on a separate episode. This is just a cut up of the pros
This guy heard these things…he has no idea
Ok
I experienced my first ever k-hole(I take ket regulary for my mental health, small doses).. and let me tell you.. I felt like my feet never touched the ground until the k hole ended and I literally felt like I was coming into land back into my body again as seconds before it I was blasted off into space living for 3000 years...I said to hubby "Im coming back, im coming into land.." apparently and was blasted off again, man it was intense scary weird awesome terrifying and amazing all in one! Ive been cautious about doing it since! btw I vomited violently after my k-hole, but I felt that was normal conciderin I was flying around space for 3 thousand years seconds prior soo haha and oh its nice to dissociate too for me on smaller doses especially when you have a mental illness (I have several) so its very "freeing" experience but K-holing... tread very lightly guys xx there is a very fine line between not enough and to much!
Wooh that’s one crazy trip you had! Thanks for sharing and best of luck!
Nice hair 😅
Thanks 😅
if you're gonna khole take the dose somewhere safe in a good environment and then lie down straight after and close your eyes
Good advice 💯
For the new nurses coming to the ICU please do not attempt to turn patients on your own. If you don’t have the help or the staff then wait until you get the help
Facts, the first few turns you might feel ok but it adds up real quick!
I love nurses helping nurses ❤
Wooh!
Hi👋I am a nursing student candidate. And thank you so much for your insights into these real-world ethical dilemmas. I'm going to attend entry interviews for nursing school and they will involve (maybe) these scenarios, and your video has really given me a lot of inspiration. Thank you soooo much!!
Glad to hear it. Good luck!
WOW! Thank you for this great presentation❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your interviews. Love that intro...
Thank you. Appreciate it.
what about the Robert wood strike in New Brunswick new jersey
That's a good one. I wasn't able to include every single one. What have you heard about it?
@@CUPOFNURSES I’ve heard they came to an agreement.. I heard the strike lasted about 120 days … the main reason they went on strike was I believe better ratios, better benefits because I was hearing there was a call out issue going on, and also better pay… they might be the highest paying hospital in New Jersey right now
just had the mix up though it was coke it was scary and lasted long too
Wow definitely not the trip you were intending
@@CUPOFNURSES yup spent 6 hours outside the club just hanging my head that guy knew what he was doing
Super appreciate this video. I’m a stutterer and also an RN. I stutter my whole life that’s why I know the feeling and frustrations of being one. Kudos to people like me who despite the struggles still keep on going. ❤❤❤
Respect. It's really hard walking through life with a stutter. I'm glad this video helped.
What is better rad tech or nursing?
It depends what you want to do. Rad techs go around taking portables or work the machines like CT or MRI. It depends what you want to do. If you want something more versatile nursing is the way to go but if you want something more calm and repetative rad tech is for you.
This nurse abuses her power and doesn't treat others with respect. Disgusting
why do you think that?
