The following footage is a 8 Minute Severe Thunderstorm Time Lapse recorded at 5% speed yesterday on August 18th, 2024

Storm Information for 8/18/24:
The Severe Thunderstorm developed sometime around 10:50-ish before beginning at 11:00PM. I didn't begin recording until 11:18PM, when I noticed the storm started to produce a lot of lightning (one bult of which struck dangerously close) and heavy rain.
At the beginning of the recording, I noticed a strange orange looking glow that seems to disappear as soon as I begin filming. I have no idea what this strange light could be, but if you guys know, please comment down below. Anyways the analysis continues more below in the next paragraph:
It wasn't until 11:20PM when the storm began to produce heavy downpoursThe storm at this point also began flooding roads, especially one roadway close to my area. The storm takes a more violent approach at 11:27PM, when winds to start gusting up quickly, followed by more consistent violently and dangerously close lightning. Fortunately, the rain slightly begins dying down at 11:30PM at which point I determined the storm could be ending soon
Unfortunately at 11:33PM, the storm had other plans and produced a powerful lightning strike which caused a power outage acrossed my area. I wasn't expecting this and it left me and my cat startled (he's an angel 😀). Fortunately enough, the outage lastly for nearly a couple of seconds before being restored. Now, at this point, the storm had reached its peak, a Severe Thunderstorm causing power outages, flooding, and occasional dangerous lightning strikes
The storm would rage on until around 11:43PM when the rain begins to die down and the storm is reduced to a mear lightning strikes before it starts moving away at 11:45PM
Finally, the Storm itself is completely gone by 11:54PM when no more lightning is visible and the rain is no more. The sky clears up with the moon completely visible as well as some small lovely looking clouds surrounding it (none of which are caught on my cheap camera, sorry about that lol). I then ended recording at 12:00AM which was perfect considering it was exactly the time all warnings including: Flood Warning, Severe Thunderstorm Warning, and all Tornado watches had been fully expired (I learned this from my weather radio I recently bought)

All in all, this Severe Thunderstorm was very active and made for some decent footage covering a powerful storm and I'm very happy for it. I hope that everyone out there stays safe, and you all have a wonderful day😁👍
