I couldn't walk for 3 straight days after falling 5 minutes into this session... I found wax on the ground and wanted to try to 5-0 the whole thing so I applied a stroke... BAD idea... It felt like the worst Charley horse imaginable... I was hoping it would heal so I waited it out but no luck... I paid to put my dog in daycare to come here so I had to justify the cost and skate however I could....

Opening and then closing the shoulders as you go up really speed up the rotation of the board for me. I catch it with my front foot only. Would you have any tip how to get the back foot on the board? Mine just goes to the ground after the scoop somehow.

@@pistopit7142 have you tried doing them fakie ? This helped me when I had that problem, it sort of forces you to commit your back foot to land on the board

@@vibing2471thanks. I've tried it fakie. But fakie to me is like trying to shave with my left hand when I am right handed. I am so confused by this trick. I can do pretty high heelflip where I lift my both feet high. But for treflip, because I need to scoop with my back leg, it somehow goes to the ground after. I've tried to jump higher and tuck my knees staying longer in the air, but that usually ends up in rotating board hitting my back leg knee. It's been months like that.

But I developped some serious leg muscles and also my heelflips feel so easy to do now :) One side effect: as I prectice treflips, I completely lost how to do pop shovit. I used to be able to do them quite high.

The treflip thing is interesting because its actually the opossite, shorter wheelbase will make the board spin faster than longer ones. I personally cannot treflip on flat with a longer wheelbase because it spins so damn slow and it also feels so heavy to scoop. But on shorter wheelbases its like i dont even try it just works lol. But im a short dude so it makes sense its easier for me on a short wheelbase haha

I think since I traditionally only rode 14.5 inch wheelbase boards, my muscle memory was fine tuned to 360 best with that size wheelbase. Best tutorial. Most of them mislead me saying I need to lean back. No you don’t wan’t to lean back. What you want is weight should be distributed more to your back foot at the moment of pop/scoop and this does not equal to lean back. As a result of leaning back the board was landing in front of me and my back foot always ended up behind the board tail.

the reason is goes too far back is because it started to rotate too early before the pop so it starts pivoting on your back wheel.
