Very nice. WISH i had this design several months ago. Found this set on clearance at Walmart for about $40! I should have bought the 4 they had! Bought 1 figuring Id find an alt build on rebrickable, which I did..but I like this one a lot!

Looks cool! Much promise in a two-level city!

I dislike that most of these expansions make the overall shape of the village hard to fit on anywhere. Like if we say that the back of the Jarl's hut is the "back end" of the set, then the village square expansion extends forward diagonally, not using that large corner area at all. And the Blacksmith's hut/tower expansion extends further back than the Jarl's hut, making a 6-brick empty patch behind everything. And many other MOCs extend the village sideways horizontally from the Jarl's hut, but that only makes the village narrow and very long.

The two towers on the left right next to one another make no sense. You should rearrange or put another expansion in-between the two.

Just bought the set, and I am now gathering the pieces to do the same as you - all medieval sets should be modular - just like the city modular sets ;)

These new boxes are GREAT. They're perfect for storing your pieces while you're still building, making sure you'll never lose any pieces, moving sets around, or a huge number of any other purposes. I'm a fan.

I wouldnt be entirely surprised if it came down to EU packaging regulations. I don't know how widespread this style of box is among lego sets but I could see it being easy to lose the contents in transit if an individual box was placed upside down without the protective slip. Whats the big idea with boxes anywho? They're beautiful but I don't ever keep any of my boxes

I like the "new" style of boxes it's a "slight" throwback to how it was done before, although missing the flap and the inner box that you would slide out. The best boxes where anyway the styrofoam ones they used for the 70's and early 80's sets.

In my opinion, it's just you. LEGO set out with a brief to make the packaging work with the new paper bags, and we can assume they achieved it because it's in production. Just because it does not work with your very specific use case does not mean it is a fail or useless, it just means it doesn't work for you. I'm not saying that your views aren't valid, I just think the language you used could be a bit better. Just some notes, you didn't actually 'break' the box trying to get the white one out. You just unclipped some tabs, which can be clipped back together once the white box is out. They actually all have to be unclipped and folded upwards to be able to collapse the box. Which leads onto the second point. Those creases on the side are also part of the box folding. You should be able to push inwards on the middle part of the side with the creases and it will fold in on itself. There's an article on Brickset called "Is this the perfect LEGO box?" if you want more info.

That's so annoying! I thought maybe this was LEGO's way of avoiding scammers trying to repackage the existing box, but the way they stuff the white box under the overlaps is terrible design.

I bought the Notre Dame set but I didn't have that box. I had the white one though. Maybe it's a regional difference?

I agree. I also have the Porsche Tagra set and I bought it purely to do the Lambo Countach alt build! The new “official” set of the Countach does not interest me. Aside from the windscreen, which does look better in the official set than in the alt build, I thin’ the alternative build looks way better than the new set.

Never even seen this set before, I checked and only Lego sell this one and I never buy from Lego site as they never have sale, might have to see about getting 2 of these. Thank you for letting me know this one exists.

thank you so much for feature! the wing connections are the weak point. for the cockpit, please make sure the brick piece and the cockpit was pushed all the way in, while there is still some movement, I didn't experience it to the level in the video.

i am going to build this too in a few weeks, waiting for another viking sale here in Germany it was on sale 1 month ago but only took one :( There are two ships i maybe could see also integrated, like barracuda Bay or the new 3in1 pirateship maybe?
