Solid information. Thanks for making the time to film and explain this. Exactly what I was looking for and the reason I will be contacting you today to purchase some line.
Would love to have a link for that hood vent!
What about the braided lines you get for Plumbing sinks? For use on low pressure ATV fuel lines?
Following - nice build. Firstly, front splitter, make life easy on yourself and convert it to use Professional Awesome quick release brackets specially if you plan to change them from big to smaller for street use. Turbo, if you plan to push over 400rwhp, you will get back pressure issues. My wife's FD had the same turbo and at 420rwhp shit just got extremely hot and wrecked. Went to a 1.22 now heat not such an issue, water meth injection helps too :)
All is looking mit😊
great content, good quality nice videography 800 subs?, imo you going places
Thank you!, we are trying really hard to make quality content
Looking really good, love the look and feel on the interior, do you have a water drain on the fuel filler? just looks like a water trap there ;)
Not yet! But we are going to add a small drain tube that will dump any water through the boot floor 👍🏼
Is it the 8hp input or output speed you’re worried about?
Output speed, we will need to limit the RPM to about 5k in 7th and 8th.considering how cheap the boxes are, we can always play until it breaks
The fabrication looks incredible really looking forward to how this project develops. 👌
Thank you ! :)
Gotta say, the redesigned sideskirts look much cleaner 👍. However, it is quite the bummer that you aren't keeping the pop-ups...
Yes I am much happier with the updated design. I love the pop-ups too, but unfortunately we need to give way to function over form on this one
Hi,the garage/shop it looks very clean, tidy and organised. Your rx7 looks great so far and looking forward to see the progress. Unfortunately you are located far away from my home otherwise l get mine down there for some electrical and mechanical issues because here in Newcastle there is NO a decent electrician or any expert in rotary engines. Sad you will have to delete the pop up lights 🙂
Thanks! we could always come and collect the car for you, we do this for a lot of customers as they aren't always running projects. If you did want to discuss it just send us an email to info@advocultmotorsport.co.uk
make sure you put a pride flag if your not running pop ups, will suit u and the car hehe
I’ll wear rainbow underpants
Hehe send me pics 🫡
Given me some ideas for my fuel cell install with that filler/breather set up (bought a radium cell and cage a long time ago from you and have that mounted like yours). May have to pay you a visit once mine is out the body shop as there could be loads of bits you could help out with!
We would love to help out with your build! I remember seeing it on instagram a little while back. Pop down for a coffee any time you like ✌🏼
@@advocultmotorsport Will do, I am going to have to drop a tonne of bits off with the bodyshop at some point in the next month or so and will be local-ish to you so will try and arrange to pop in for a coffee and a chat and see yours in person 👍 I will drop you a message when I know I will be nearby.
I love the progress. Really cool seeing the fuel fill and breather with the hatch cut out.
Thank you!
get rid of the pain. put a piston engine in, not a single person regrets it
Behave Gav, some of us like the spiny triangles of doom
@@advocultmotorsport no no. You mean, some of us are stuck with them 😂😘
I have a k24 in waiting 👀
From a price point, yes they are horrible but when I had my rotary nothing was wrong with it 🤣 (I’m lying to myself)
@@ivegonemad haha every rotary owner is in denial eh haha i hated the anxiety it give ya and i mean EVERY one has it
What is your plan for the wing mounts to have them chassis mounted while still being able to open the trunk?
If you watch episode 1, the wing will have pull pins on the front mount so we can rotate it backward to open the tailgate. But, there should t really be much need to open the tailgate
Thats a puff size air scarer
Until next time....when the pop ups return.....
They are being put to good use elsewhere 😉
I remember watching you learning to tig weld on the front frame in your garage years ago. Back then did you imagine you'd be here now?
To be honest, it feels a bit strange. It's weird how being surrounded by, and responsible for so many lovely RX7's just becomes normal, it's almost hard to feel achievement as we are just buried in work. But it's nice to see how the company is growing, and how happy the customers are :)
Looks great, is it blue book compliant? Have you noticed any increase in water or oil temps?
This would extend too far to satisfy the normal 100mm extension allowed in the blue book, but we could make one to stat specification very easily for you. The splitter will actually improve cooling temperatures due to closing off the floor area below the radiator. This will encourage the high pressure air in the engine bay to be extracted behind the engine as intended. This increases airflow over the engine, and through the radiator
Can confirm this splitter will survive the gravel at 90mph 😅
it was all in the name of product testing
You earned a subscriber at @8:10 when you said, "gotta keep the pop-ups"
What's more flexible, the nylon braided PTFE or the stainless steel braided PTFE?
The stainless would be more flexible, but there isn't really much difference between them
Look at "Alex Williams Rx7". You should do something like that with the body. By far the best widebody build ive seen on this car other than the JGTC RX7.
absolutely phenomenal work
Top banana dude, really need to come and get in yo face again soon. Miss ya
pop in for a brew
I love your ideas for the rx7. I couldn't agree with you more on the race car interior. I honestly dont know why more builders dont try to build a gt3 style interior. I like your ideas for the wing, and gear box as well. I think this build will set some trends! Cant wait to see more of the build!
thank you :)
we never going to see him again
Episode 2 is no up :)
Did you custom design the panels that sit in the corners of the engine bay, and if so, do you also sell them?
Love the vid and the direction you're taking this build. Couldn't have put it better myself, improving the car similar to Porsche's take for their 911 is definitely the way to go, and will actually be doing it myself on my car in the future as well, following the ZF 8HP70 retrofit I have done in my E92 335i. Looking forward to see the finished car. keep up the good work, two thumbs up!
What would you recommend for an external waste-gate?
All comes down to budget and what connections you have available for the boost reference. Small diameter silicone hose works as long as you protect it from the exhaust/manifold, but we love using ptfe core AN3 reusable hose and fittings or brake line. If you want to get really fancy and mega safe we also keep stainless steel hard line. Send us a message on Facebook and I can show you some examples
I completely agree with you @14:26. I am not a fan of empty and metal only interior of race cars, especially dashboard of tubes. I like/love seeing those race cars that at least leave or have a nice looking interior without looking completely empty. One that comes to mind I think is the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail's interior. I like what you did with the hiding the bare floor with the carpet.
Really informative, thanks Tom
My pleasure Thomas
Brilliant
But sir, what hose do i need for the different area codes?
That's a trade secret
You will need a very, very short ring gear to use it with that transmission, but best of luck it looks awesome!
Thank you, if you check the box ratios with a 4.1 ring it actually looks pretty perfect. 2300 rpm in 8th gear is 70mph
@@advocultmotorsport For a more track oriented gearing a even shorter gearing (4.3, 4.56 maybe)would properly more appropriate, it is a rotary after all. But for street yeah that would be terrible.
@@p0intdk punch the details in an online calculator and I think you might be surprised. 1-6 on the 8hp50 is the same as 1-5 on a stock fd box, so you gain a gear for the same wheel output (stock diff ratio). That gets you to 160mph at 8k rpm on a sensible 18”tyre. If we can achieve the target 4K rpm power band this should be the perfect setup. Then that leaves 7-8th for cruising economy should we use the car on the road or feel like trying to reach 240mph (that is by no means a target on the list)
About time to get a decent rotary specialist here in UK.👏👌 I went through hell with "rotary garages" until l finish mine🙄. Beautiful rx7 and great job💯
Would love to see more of that mk2 escort I’m a really big fan of old school fords 😊
I love the movable wing to access the boot
Underrated channel. Well made video.
Lovely work and what a beautiful looking presenter.
Are we watching the same video?
How was the coffee I made?
Terrible
Love this build. Please keep uploading. In regards to the gearbox did Phil Morrison of driftworks not have serious issues with this setup and go sequential?
Thanks! And phil was using a DCT box, very different internally and with all the issues I’ve seen with this conversion we were put off trying it
@@advocultmotorsport ahhh I see! What an amazing build though. Spectacular 👌 when it's built I'll make sure to come see it rip.
Nice work mate looking forward to it
Yes yessss 🔥🔥
Bakery approved
Look forward to the build progress. Any idea what suspension/geo setup you plan to use initially ?
Stock arms with pillow ball replacement bushes on most, then hopefully Nitron suspension if the budget allows for it 🤓
Awesome! Subbed for future episodes
Great video, can't wait to see how the car turns out.
Look forward to more
