Modular Stochastic

Playing with only the stochastic sequencer in Oxi ONE. Mavis, Neoni, and Plaits, into a custom reverb firmware I wrote for Patch.init(). Lubadh doing some broken tape delay. Norns filling things out with a little Nightmare. Xcelon for mixing and performance. I know you exist, somewhere. Don't forget that. Even if we never get the chance to meet, you are super important. Make things, and express...

@respiradnb Made a nice drum pack, and I used it for the drums here. I've been really struggling with making AI generated video lately, mainly due to the artistic theft happening all over the place. I asked my designer daughter what her criterion is for boycotting, and it came down to making money with AI. I'm not monetized, so will make no money from this. This is KO2 drums, Typhon and Plaits ...

OXI ONE firmware is getting an update to have some ability to control the device over Midi. So I ported my clip launcher controller extension over to it and had a little jam. Watch live at www.twitch.tv/thorinside

Experimenting with a firmware I am writing for Patch.init() from #electrosmith where I have four Zocillators with their pitch coming from the four CV inputs, though a MoogLadder filter. I have manual control over detuning, oscillator waveform, cutoff and resonance. This was going into beads and Disting EX in Granulator mode. And Norns Barcode was capturing from the main outputs. Reverb in TX-6....

Another arpeggio exploration. TX-6 is back, so it is mixing and providing some reverb. Drums from EP-133. Haphazard. I love how it ends. Watch live at www.twitch.tv/thorinside

I can't remember what I was doing for this. I had Disting EX in dual mode with reverb on one side and stereo tape delay on the other. Running stuff into that, patching on the fly mostly. Norns Concrete. Oxi One sequencing a bit. Watch live at www.twitch.tv/thorinside

Hypnotic music and video ❤
Very nice
Sounding great man!
Thanks. Much appreciated. I realized afterwards that the chord changes I had sequenced, didn't get through. Oh well. Live performance.
0:51 Quick tour
0:18 Starts pitch black.
I never remember either. I really need to start saving groups with little notes.
Yeah. I have mostly given up trying to document, and mostly I just unpatch and repatch.
That all comes together nicely, some really good sounds and cool sequencing in there for sure.
Nice textrures! 🔥
Dude! Wild creepy cool video, I like it. To funny on the prompts, I did pick up on the Christmas theme though ha. The details in the renderings are really good. Cool track too, I like the percussion and the way it works with heavier riff. 🍻
really enjoyed this even with the somewhat creepy images
All good sounds! How are you liking recording with the iPad?
I like it quite a bit. It's kind of like throwing together a mixer on the fly, with effects. Though I have finally hit the DSP limits of it. I can only have 3 Mariana instances at the same time, which is likely enough. AUM is amazing software, very well designed for touching, nice little animations. I do wish it were a bit easier to Midi map things, but I'm still learning. I should read the manual.
Excellent track and outstanding sound quality!!
Kind of a cinematic style. Nice sounds.
nice work great bass vibes, cheers
Appreciate it!
cool stuff here, nice track and great video, cheers from italy ciao
Glad you enjoy it!
Cool and interesting arrangement, I like the mix of voice styles 🍻
I find this genre minimal but very effective, I produce ambient music, and this minimalism is sometimes a very useful lesson to learn, to avoid adding too many ingredients. As the saying goes: too many cooks spoil the broth!
I usually perform live, so I only have so much attention to give voices, so I am definitely leaning toward minimalism.
Great sounds!
Mesmerising 🤩
Thanks!
"promosm" 😜
Twenty hours of rendering time very well spent I'd say! Great bit of patching and sound design too, love this
This came out cool man! I like the pleasant vibe of everything. The drums remind me of mechanical clicks and clacks, works nice with the clock mechanics theme.
Thanks. Sometimes I wish that drums were easier. I was riding the norns knobs selecting X,Y positions that sounded decent to me, so there's a bit of variation. Then set up an LFO to modulate the EFX Fragments mix. I guess it ended up working.
@@NealSanche They totally fit nice in this, but yes, I know what you mean!
Cool visuals and wonderful music selection.
These are among the cleanest AI visuals I’ve seen
I like that brassy quality of the lead voice and how it bounces around the way it does. Nice renders as well!
Lovely sound design and composition and another great video
Many thanks!
Video came out cool with the XL model! Nice chill track too, soothing to me.
Glad you liked it!
Always a pleasure to listen to your tracks and watch these great videos, keep them coming 🙂
Thanks, will do!
Sweet audio track, it's different, I like the style. Animation came out really cool as well 🍻
Thanks ✌️
Great soundscape and video combo Neal! Cool way to go about it with the live modulation too.
Love it. Subscribed
Awesome! Thank you!
Is that a tabla I hear? Really like this one. Pretty trippy!!
Yep, really amazing virtual tabla by @seasidemodular
veeery interesting and lovely results... where can i download this? i can't find it on github, am i really THAT dumb? :(
It is now in the VCV Library, teletype is. Minim is at github.com/dstroud/minim
I like the chill sci-fi track, and another great video 👌
Fantastic 🤩
very cool patch
happy Canada day! Sounding amazing so far. I went to a workshop about VCV rack last night - I'm feeling inspired to dive in!
Thanks. I'd be happy to show you around it sometime.
I had Disting EX loaded with some Unperson samples, so yeah, there is a bit of you in there. Thanks for those.
The track came out great and creates an air of mystery with the video. Love the video and how the people and various architecture and objects morph from one thing to another, piano to synth to spaceship and the rest. Very cool.
Great track, nice and chill! Video is amazing! Did it take long? Would love to get into making these 🙂
Thanks. The render ended up taking 4 hours this time. Would you be interested in a video where I discuss how these are made?
Four hours seems pretty good for the final result, I would very much be interested in a tutorial 🙏
@@StuartElliott73 Okay, I'll make one then. That way if I lose my memory I'll be able to replicate it.
Amazing, thank you 🙏
@@NealSanche yes :)
I can't see where do you click to paste the file to the clipboard to import it to the module. After a while, I got half of the grid filled, with the same "arch" figure you have in your patch, but only one side, where you have both sides of the grid with the same "arch". I'm off to a bad start, let's see how you make it sequence. Ok (third edit) I got the sequence going but I'm not sure how. That's the "story" of my life with IT, I never know how I did something but I always try and mostly I end up doing things but I don't learn anything, it can be very frustrating. I got the other side of the grid filled by clicking on the grid menu and changing the protocol from "40th" to "Mext (veribright)". Don't ask me why. Thanks. How do you get Google with darkened background.?
Honestly, I got it to work, then recorded the live stream, and haven't tried it since. The grid definitely needs to be in Varibright mode because that Script uses that. I really should try running it again, it was a lot of fun.
@@NealSanche So, it was the Varibright, thanks for confirming. I wouldn't use teletype to make music cause I hate the process, but since the script acts like a built module, if the result is good, why not.
Wow, that is cool to watch! The audio goes with it great too, makes for a nice audio visual composition for sure.
I love it! This video is great!!
This is great! The glitches add a lot. I also really love the sequences. Well done!
Thanks. Your Patreon fortnight challenges are very inspiring for me.
Very cool Neal! The track brings me back to a time when I was a teenager listening to Star Control II music modules while tinkering with the family computer.
Great track! The video is really cool too. The sci-fi feel of the music ties them together nicely indeed.
Nice sounding/combination of voices and they all come together nicely! Great patching.
nice patch
nice!
