I hear an equal amount of rhetoric concerning the end of the United States if the other guy gets elected. Politics as usual. We'll be fine no matter who the mascot is. I won't be voting for Trump but wouldn't wish harm upon upon him either. As far as "What God is doing," I would hope nothing, as it would violate the free will of men to intervene. Just as he allowed the bullets to strike our past leaders, He equally allows for them to miss.

Mutual submission may work for a community of believers but not for a marriage. When you have two people and they disagree, who's going to break the tie? The man is the head, and this is clearly taught in the scripture starting from Genesis 3:16: " your husband shall rule over you.” However, he is to make his decisions in consideration of his wife's interests and welfare, loving her as Christ loved the church.
Obviously it's a debatable point, as tons of people have proven over the years. I think men and women generally have complimentary roles distinct from each other, but I don't think this text outlines a 1+1 blueprint for that. Ephesians 5:21-33 has four common hermeneutic directions that evangelical leaders tend to take. Interestingly, no less a complimentarian than John Piper disagrees with you on this one, while Wayne Grudem would echo your understanding. Loving your wife as Christ loved the church is absolutely a picture of submission; the ultimate submission of laying your life down on her behalf. I think it's best to say that all Christians are called to mutually submit to each other per Ephesians 5:21, while within marriage there are unique ways that this mutual submission plays out. So we can agree that men and women have distinct difference not merely related to biology, and therefore require complimentary roles, while maybe disagreeing that Paul teaches the tie-breaker view of submission that you've articulated.
