Hey y'all, we're Chris and Tracy! We started traveling together almost as soon as we meet and we haven't stopped!
Our goal has always been to see as much of this planet as we can and document our journey along the way. When Covid hit, we found ourselves suddenly overworked, stressed and all of our international trips being slowly cancelled. So what did we do? We bought a #winnebago #travato #van so we could #travel locally and see the amazing sites that the US has to offer. As the world slowly started to open, we longed to continue our international travels as well as document our van travels worldwide so we evolved our channel to focus on all of our exciting adventures. While we are working towards our goals of full time travel, exploring as many countries as we can and hitting all 7 continents. The only caveat? We both work full time in healthcare. . So follow along with us as we explore and enjoy our wild travels.

Exploring the hidden gems of Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Welcome to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. This park is comprised of 3 sections: South Unit, North Unit and Elk Horn Ranch Unit. It’s about 80 miles between these units. We get into the Notth Unit later in the afternoon, it’s actually in a different time zone so we were too late for the visitor center, but we were able to enjoy the scenic loop drive. We head out and run into lots of bison along the way. We make it all the way to the end of the drive, to the Oxbow overlook. Then we head back and stop at some scenic areas along the way including the riverbed overlook. We continue through the park and then head out to our harvest host for the night, Phat Fish Brewing in Dickinson, ND. They were a very easy spot to reserve, taking same day reservations. We enjoyed some delicious beer and pizza before going to bed for the night.
The next morning, we grab some coffee and get on the way. We stop at the Painted Canyon visitor center and enjoy some scenic views of the badlands while taking the dogs out for a walk. Then it’s into the South Unit of the park. We stop by the visitor center and check out the Maltese Cross Cabin, which is the original cabin where Theodore Roosevelt spent a lot of his time in his early days, prior to building the Elk Horn Ranch later in life. We were told that the cabin should be open to check out, but it was unfortunately, locked. We’ve heard stories of the cabin being haunted by Teddy, so maybe he wasn’t wanting visitors that morning. Oh well, it’s time for the scenic drive. This is the most popular part of the park and there are lots of great hikes and tons of animals, including bison, prairie dogs and wild horses. The scenic loop was under construction so we made it out to the endpoint at the Boicourt viewpoint. Then it’s back to hike at the Old East Entrance, where you hike through a huge prairie dog town. Then we stopped by Buck Hill and found the wild horses, including a colt! Absolutely magical. We continue back at some more viewpoints and his, including the wind canyon trail. After exploring the park, we find some BLM land to park for the night where we make dinner and plan the next part of our trip.

Hi! We’re Chris and Tracy and we love to #travel. Unfortunately, we both have full time jobs working in healthcare which require us to have a home base, instead of the digital nomad life that we envy. However, this lifestyle has allowed us to learn the ins and outs of planning #vacations. When we first met, we were very young and enjoyed some domestic travel. When we got married, we decided to go onto our first #international trip together. Let’s just say, Tracy caught a bad case of the travel bug. So it was our mission to go everywhere!
We try to plan 3-4 “big” trips a year. In total, we have been to 64 countries together (Chris is at 75 total himself). The biggest thing that we have taken away from this is how to be savvy while traveling. At first, we took a lot of cruises because they were easy. However, we met some new friends on a cruise who told us to come visit them in Malaysia and that was our first trip that we planned all on our own. Let’s say it was a great trip but we made a few mistakes, like severely overpaying for our taxi in Bali. However, we have used everything as a learning experience. We really love the logistics of planning trips and getting the best deals and experiences. And it would be selfish to keep this knowledge to ourselves!
We have lots of friends and family come to us for advice or helping planning. So why not expand our audience and help everyone out! Our motto in life is champagne taste on a beer budget, or more correctly, a 5 star hotel taste for a hostel price.

Amazing dear friends nice your journey best of luck my dear friends ❤love you 😍 🫶🫶
for all you diy'ers. the promaster has the easiest air bleeder valve for the coolant that i've ever seen. it's on the end of the thick hose behind the reservoir, it's 2 hoses that come together at a 90 degree and there is a small twist knob where these 2 hoses meet. just keep squeezing the coolant hose until some coolant dribbles out of that bleeder valve, and you'll have bled out the air. good luck everyone

Cruising Alaska next week via NCL I have a question, Did you book your excursions through the cruise line or at the port??
@@vanessasoto3819 we do both. Depending on the tour/time we have in port. The more time we have the more likely we will book outside of the cruise line. Short port days or ones where you have to travel far, almost always with the cruise line. Skagway and Juneau are easy ports to walk around, Ketchikan is a bit away from the cruise terminal (ward cove) so you take a bus. The city is easy to explore once you are there. Often we just go off an explore, find a hike, etc.

@nurseandthenomad I flew in. I only had 3 days, and it still was not enough time, but I got to see South Sawyer glacier. I just posted that video today. I'm new at this posting stuff, but I had to show off all that beauty, yet a camera still doesn't do it justice.
What month did you take this cruise? It's beautiful. I should be taking an excursion through tracy arm on the 24th of August, and I'm so excited I'm just not sure how cold it is and what to wear lol I'm flying into Juneau and I can't wait. You're video is beautiful thank you for sharing it.
@@pumpkinoliveros4147 you are very welcome and thank you for the kind words. We did a few other videos on our Alaska trip as well. This was filmed in September but we have also traveled in July. Alaska weather can vary but it’s usually between 55 and 75 during the day, usually it’s jeans and a puffer jacket or a sweatshirt. We love cruising to Alaska and just finished another cruise up at the end of July. Give us a follow on Instagram if you want to stay more up to date on our travels! Enjoy your Alaska cruise! Very interesting and educational video ... and rather professionally done. We own a 1996 Prevost and are thinking about getting/adding a smaller Class B ... like your ... like the Travato. My wife is also a nurse and does a great job keeping us healthy with supplements, etc. We have been curious about taking an Alaska cruise ... so your video was very timely! The ship looks fabulous and the cuisine also. What is the name of the ship Tracy? I subscribed and will look forward to your future travels!
@@TomBeck007 Hi Tom! Thanks for the follow and checking out our latest video. It was a great cruise! We have a few other videos on that 7day that we did as well, should be the previous 4 videos. We love our Travato, it’s been such a life changer since we got it during Covid. About to head off on some more journeys to the PNW in the next coming weeks. We’re always a little more up to date on our Instagram (Nurse and the Nomand). The ship was the Norwegian Spirit, one of their smaller more intimate ships. We actually just did a similar route on the Encore to Glacier Bay NP and it was beyond our expectations! I cannot recommend it enough. Chris (The nomad) is actually a travel agent and works with all the major cruise companies, I’m sure he would be glad to help answer any questions you may have about any travel. @@nurseandthenomad Hi Tracy! My wife just informed me that our niece also uses Norwegian Cruise Lines ... bcs it offers the best deals. So, now I must put a cruise on our "bucket list"! In the meantime, I am researching the Van & "B" RV's. I had an Eagle 15 Coach and installed a water purification system in it that was powerful enough to convert pond water into drinking water ... and had it return the grey water to the fresh tank ... thereby greatly increasing water capacity ... as well as the anxiety surrounding that issue. We could last many weeks after that ... with daily showers ... and a 100 gal Fresh Water Tank capacity. I wonder if there is a place for a tri-filter system in the Travato? Tom
So amazing for you to be able to see the northern lights. We are headed up there is a couple weeks hopefully we are that lucky.
Hope you are too, we used the Aurora App to alert us when the probability was high.
Hi, I just read about your information. I am nurse and would like to do what you and your partner are doing, which is to both travel and work full time in healthcare. Any advice, tips, suggestions, benefits, and disadvantages? Thank you!
Nice job. Now there is more gringos there. And it's more expensive than the United States. Thanks for making it so bad
Depending on mileage, you should flush that system entirely of all the old coolant as it breaks down over time and gets dirty…
YOu should always replace the rubber hoses as well, dry rot...
That’s a good idea, honestly never considered that.
Great video. I have a dumb question; does it get ALL of the coolant out with the pump or just the coolant in the resovoir?
3:35 i spy a storyteller beast mode!
Why use the old clamp since it seems kinda single use? The new one is a buck, and you can tighten or replace it without removing the reservoir?
I know people with the same disease.
Hey bud, I did the same on mine and now I have a big issue with air on the system, do you know a link or where can I see how to bleed that air?
Not sure if you mentioned it before but where did you get that little propane fire pit?
It’s an Ignik Fire Can, amzn.to/3NT57ko great addition to our supplies, fits easy as it’s a compact but really gives off some heat.
nice journey 😀
