    I ended up mounting my reservoir sorta where the factory air box went but more like between the air box and brake booster. There's practically no way to make the brake booster mount work without cutting into the inner fender. I cut up the brake booster mount and used some other metal to fab up a bracket that bolts to that raised seem on the inner fender it turned out nice it even has the psc logo still from the original bracket. The reservoir cap is just barely not touching the hood. You want the reservoir above the pump as much as possible and you want to imagine how the fluid will flow at extreme angles off-road and stuff so the pump doesn't run dry at any point. Its not the easiest thing to install the reservoir in an xj.

    • @motolayne
      @motolayne 25 днів тому

      Seems silly to that the pump so high

    • @forreststrong797
      @forreststrong797 25 днів тому

      @motolayne I know, if it were lower then mounting a reservoir would be much easier. It's in a good location for the stock setup with the attached reservoir it makes it easy to check the fluid and stuff. I think bleepinjeep attached the psc reservoir directly to the pump using some sort of union fitting although I can't remember if the hood shuts in that configuration or it required modifications but I thought that was a nifty setup.

    Here's a question. I'm at TDC on 1. Rockers installed and torqued. Is it ok to do 6 without turning the crank? If not,nd since I have to turn the crank, is it easier to do it by the firing order?

    • @motolayne
      @motolayne 4 місяці тому

      I think technically yet 6 should be good to torque since both intake and exhaust valves are closed. Getting to TDC isn’t necessary- just the easiest way to ensure valves are shut

    So if you would have left the pistons.0027 below the deck would you be able to run 87octane? I just bought a second xj with a hole in the block, bought a doner motor and stuck between stock rebuild or stroker. I was looking at cleggs stage 1 kit and new cam and all that but want to run 87 not premium fuel.
