The weather is really too cold. When the sun doesn't come out, I can't feel a hint of spring in Spring City anymore. Only one hot pot meal can save me in this weather. Coincidentally, a new hot pot restaurant has opened near my apartment building. You can eat freshly cut beef at will, and the key is that it's less than 10 US dollars per person! I'm a little worried about the owner, can they rea...

The nearest and highly rated one was in the urban village, so I wore slippers and went there. Guess what, I was completely ...

Welcome back! I hope your business trip was successful! Wow these noodles look really tasty! Do they only come with pork or can you buy them with different meats or no meat? And the price is such a good deal - and they keep having such big bowls to serve! It is good to know they do not only make noodles with strong flavors. I like spicy things but I can appreciate a simple soup too. I am excited to try the beauty vinegar when I come to visit since you like it so much, but it was very funny to watch you say you like it and then make such a sour face when you drank it. It looked like it bit you! But the big pot it came from looked cool. And I am excited to learn more about potatoes in Yunnan. It is good to know that everyone loves potatoes no matter where you go. The way the potato you ate was cut looks exactly like the way some people in America cut them to make fries! But I am sure the taste is very different since we only use salt and dipping sauce compared to the yummy seasonings this restaurant used. Thanks for the adventure and I look forward to the next one!

it's great to be back! big thanks as usual! normally the 帽子 of rice noodles are mainly pork, but you can choose different kind of meat, but there might be a problem that most of the soup are cooked with pig bones, so if that is not preferred, Muslim shops might be a better alternative choice, beef and mutton are mainly used, as a matter of fact, there so many Muslim shops in Yunnan, and Muslim shops' rice noodles taste even better😄

Wow! This adventure was really next level! I had no idea people ate this kind of thing. It is very creative. I wonder how they get to the bitter water in the cow. I suppose it cannot be taken while they are alive so it must be a part of the butchering process I guess. I might be with Big L on this one since it is very adventurous. But I am also pretty adventurous so I would probably try it. I don't know if I could convince my friends to do the same. But it looks pretty tasty so I would probably forget about where it comes from. Thanks for sharing something so special! Can't wait to see where we go next!

Wow! You are really getting fast now! Thanks for the adventure! The pots that they cooked in looked so cool. Thanks for explaining the difference between small pot and big pot noodles. That makes a lot of sense. Hahaha I saw them add the chili oil when they were making the soup and I thought - Luke won’t like that - it will be too spicy! Still very impressed you finished the whole thing. And then when you had the white radish, I thought, he can have a break from the spiciness - but then you dipped it back in the chili oil haha. You are very brave! European countries like to laugh at America and say that America’s portion sizes are too big! But I think they should look at China’s portion sizes! Every time you order a small bowl, they give you a big one! I can’t imagine what it would look like to order a large bowl haha. But I think this is for the best. If you make really good food, why wouldn’t you want to serve a lot of it? It would be good if all countries had a really big portion sizes. Thanks for showing us a new place! Soon I will have a long list of restaurants to try when I come to visit!

Haha, BIG thanks as usual for commenting! Totally down for big portion myself haha! You are so right about the white radish! Xiaoguo rice noodles is really for people who love strong taste, you really should see how the ture hard guys having Xiaoguo rice noodles, they will ask for extra hot, and they will ask for the extra topping of smelly toufu-臭豆腐, and when they finished the rice noodles, they will ask a extra 油条(deep-fried dough sticks) to dip into the left over soup! Holy holy, that thing really soak up all the chili oil, just by watching, my stomach started to ache, haha, that was carzy! Thanks again and hope you would enjoy our next content!

Wow! You are getting so fast at making videos! Thanks for taking us on another adventure! These noodles look really yummy! I’ve had chrysanthemum tea before but I haven’t tried it in a soup! And wow the bowl is even bigger than last time! Now that you’ve tried all the toppings, which ones do you recommend if you got a smaller bowl? Also you mentioned that we need to cook the rice noodles ourselves for the soup. That sounds cool! How long does it take to cook them? Are there any secrets we should know? Or are they pre-cooked but self-served? And I mentioned fencing last time so I thought I would mention that it’s not dangerous because the swords are not sharp and you have to wear protective equipment. Although after college, I tried long sword and the sword was a lot bigger and heavier. You have to hold it with two hands, and the protective equipment is stronger and heavier. With long sword, I managed to fall down and hurt my ankle, but you can fall and hurt your ankle with any sport, sword or no swords, hahaha Thanks for sharing your experience and finding a good value restaurant! Can’t wait to see where we go next!

Haha yes indeed we are trying have more rice noodles to share with you on air! Big Thanks as usual for commentting! For me, Deep fried Pork skin, Intestines and coagulated pig blood is kind of my thing, they goes perfectly with the soup, and if these a little bit hard to start with(I'm always a bold eatter), you can have Caoya草芽, fried eggs and chicken wings also very fresh and delicious! The noodles in this shop is pre-cooked, but thoughtfully amount of room was left for you to boil it for your own taste, around 30s the rice noodles will be more soft and easy to chew, and 5~10s the rice noodles will be more chewy, but as matter of fact, you can just throw rice noodles in your bowl without cook again, the boiling soup in your bowl will do the work, there is no need to worry, just follow your feelings hahaha. Big thanks for the sharing of fencing, what a cool sport! And please please please do not get hurt, stay healthy and work out safely, there are so many delicious shops waiting for you to punch in LOL, certainly not with injured ankle!

Wow! I am really enjoying this series! It is so cool how there are so many different types of rice noodles. I have never seen noodles that are meant to be eaten with your hand. Good to know that you can choose beef or pork as an option. I also enjoy spicy food so I think this shop will be good to try. Thank you for recommending this shop! I will have a big list of restaurants to try when I come to visit. Thank you for sharing about Achang culture - very cool that they are known for making blades. I was a fencer in college so I used to fight with swords. But the swords I used were much lighter and of course they were not sharp haha. Can't wait to see where you go next!

Haha, thank you sooo much for commenting, you have no idea how happy are that you keep telling us that you actually enjoying our content! If you like spicy stuff than this must be your place, but to be honest, 75 Yuan is quite expensive for 2 people to have over hand rice noodles, no matter where you are, if the rice noodles charge over 20 RMB per person, than it's not a reasonable rice noodles, I had Over-hand rice noodles one time back in Baoshan, 35 RMB for two, and I kind have to admit, it's second to none, anyway, we shall keep hunting for good places, any we will absolutely put it on the air for you! And fencing sounds so cool but also quite dangerous?Anyway, thanks again and stay tuned!

Wow! So cool! Thanks for taking us on your adventure! Everything looked very delicious. Your friends house is beautiful! And everyone seems so skilled. It’s really cool to see everyone work together. We used to have a similar type of party once a year in the summer when I was younger. We called it a pig roast because we roasted the pig on a smoker all day. My grandfather would host the party and invite 200+ people and we’d have a big bonfire and set off fireworks. My aunt hosted a similar party this past summer but it was a bit smaller. We didn’t kill the pig together though because we haven’t raised pigs since before my dad was born. Instead they buy it from a local farmer and I think it’s dead already, but I have never helped with the start of the cooking process. I can’t eat pig, but sometimes we would roast a lamb instead. Either way, it’s always fun for people to get together for a party! Is everyone speaking Mandarin? Or is it common to speak the Kunming dialect outside of the city? Do you think the two dialects are very different or pretty similar? Thanks again for the adventure! I look forward to enjoying the afternoon very soon!

I would have to say that thank you too! You have no idea how glad we would be to know that you actully can resonate a little bit from this episode. A big party and big bonfire plus fireworks, with more than 200 friends and family, that must be heaven! You guys should have this sort of party more, keep the tradition going. And I like roast lamb very much also, hope we can do an episode about mutton or lamb in the future, please stay tuned. And, very glad that you've noticed the dialect, as a matter fact, dialects in Yunnan various from town to town, the basic frame is very similar, except some region dewelled by ethnic minority. Even the basic frame of dialect is very similar, it still can be very hard to comprehend, even for a native Yunnan people like me. So you might have noticed captions in this epidode did not appeared everytime, this is because I failed to understand some of the conversation myself LOL. Thanks again! So glad you enjoyed it!

What a great adventure! Thank you for taking us to a rural village! Sandan looks like a neat place to be, and the people seem very friendly. The scenery is so beautiful! Really cool how everything is so fresh! The honey looked really good. And the guy with the goat was pretty funny. Thank you for including English and Chinese subtitles. I am learning Chinese and it is easier when both subtitles are there. So cool that they have this market system. It really was like an open air Wal-Mart! When I visited China in August, I felt that it was very easy to find anything at all, including lots of things that are hard to find in America. There is a different attitude in China that anything can be done or found, which I think is very cool. And it is good to know this is available all over China, even in remote places if you come by on the right day. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to visit Yunnan back then, but I am looking forward to exploring more next time I can visit. Thank you for leading the adventure in the meantime!
