As England you can choose to abandon the continent and still get France as a pu. When the surrender Maine event triggers go to war and choose abandon the continent. When you peace out there is not an option to pu France. But if you look under your cb's you still have a pu cb until 1464. So as long as you peace out with a truce that ends before then you can still get them. I usually just cancel their cores and get money in the Maine event. Give some of their land to allies that i have like burgundy or Castille. It makes pu them cost less ae and you can trade favors for the land back. The only world conquest run I have ever done, I had burgundy and Castille and fighting France to pu them. During the war Castille leader died and I got a natural pu on spain and I got burgundy though their event. I had also conquered all of Ireland and released an Ireland pu and had subjugation Scotland between my France wars. So I essentially held all of western Europe before 1470 lol
What map mod is that?
If you are integrating two vassals at the same time and one finish before the other, you can hold off pushing the "intergration is a slow process" event that pops up for a few months or until the other is done.
Bro I think you will get very famous soon enough, I mean your videos really do help a lot
If you plan on hanging onto a vassal for a while as a great power, spam influence on them and make them a march. They'll go nuts with development and you'll reap the rewards if you eventually annex them.
Great video
i recommend you to put the result without showing us the work, cause this will make people admire the results rather than looking at failure... what's the word, tries, chances?
5:20 Sometimes, it is a good idea, if you have a large trade empire, to steer trade even if it only flows in one direction. Trade steering is a very powerful modifier, it can increase the outgoing trade value by 5%, plus 0.05% per point of naval tradition (and some extra from other modifiers) If you have 100 ducats going into your main trade node, from a one-direction trade node, with no one else steering it in your direction, and you have the choice between putting a merchant there or putting a merchant somewhere else that only steers 3-5 ducats into your end node, its a better idea to place it in the one-direction node, purely because the 5-10 ducats from that trade steering buff will be more important than that 3-5 ducat increase.
What did kill ming though? Their events seem to be gated behind rebel spawns.
Thanks. I've been looking for this. There is a couple of phenomenal tracks on this one.

It’s sad that there’s no mod that swaps the numbers out for measurements…
What map graphics mod do you have ?
great explanations, thank you
Important to note about the trade steering TC improvement is that in the end its only 2.5% increase to the trade value. The good thing is that this applies to all trade value in the node. If the node has mostly or a significant chunk of local trade value though then the +10% trade value improvement which only applies to local value will be better though. Youd need 75% of the trade value to be coming from other nodes for the trade steering to break even, and early/mid game this doesnt apply to many nodes.
It's Russian victory. In absolute numbers it lost only in like 2 times more. Not something very impressive from nation with so much more discipline and morale. In relative numbers Russia lost less. Also the battle would be won by Russia if it wasn't just one stack.
Amazing video, even for those of us with thousands of hours.
Thanks, appreciate it 🙏
Livestock is great for hordes Reduced cavalry cost for bonus
another benefit of grain/livestock/wine is that the manufactury is on admin tech 6. usually at that times you can do better things with your money, but sometimes you might build them that early.
That's a great point, actually. Might not be as relevant for normal playthroughs, but absolute gold for min-maxing or mulitplayer.
novogorod is actually a really god tradenode and pretty wealthy altough i agree that the kiev and crimea tradenode sucks
Naval supplys are useful for the naval capacity increase, especially if you have only a few coastal provinces. Wool is actually pretty lame. At least you can generate mercantilism with the monopoly privilege.
Definitely agree. Naval supplies have at least some benefit, but nothing is worse than wool.
Well, I'm not sure that the comparison is correct, the troops need to be brought into battle correctly
what map mod is this?
Atlas Aesthetic!
dutch levant jump scared me
decadence and allying with aq quoyunlu are riuned ottoman
Trade one depends on weather it's a part of a trade network. Aka it can be useful on the cape of good hope if you're transferring trade from India to Europe since merchants upstream is also a benefit
I was wondering, there is any way to make Ragusa trade node good? Every time i play with Venice or Byz everyone steer out of ragusa even if i totally controll the region
Almost impossible. Genoa and Venice are too enormous nodes, and they’ll get tons of influence there no matter what you do. So you either conquer them, or let it be.
@theeu4guy but even starting as Venice and conquering all the Venice trade node and the Ragusa one, every minor German opm sterr out trade from Ragusa to the Austrian one, reducing a lot of the trade that reach Venice
Prussia lost 3x more by percentage than russia, so the real winner is basicly them
cant you get -2 from landing on a mountains
You can, but in this case this forest province gets additional -2 from the mission, so it's technically a -3 province.
Im alway having 2 or 4 cav on the flanks to push in those flanks inwards, i know pure inf is cheaper and most cost efficient but its not that expensive
Recently played a game as Muscovy --- Russia, I did so well that now I think it's the strongest nation in the game, especially with the new Russian Empire missions
What is that map
think every man should think as often if not more about the ancient Persian Empire all the way through antiquity to the late classical era daily. We were introduced to the Romans from elementary all the way to primary school. Middle-Eastern history in general has been treated as "the others history" fearing it would undermine the narrative and Glory "our history". They had paved roads spawning their empire too, they were in most cases more culturally and religeously tolerant and lenient in taxation of their subject. And over all it is safe to say their cause to rule was as just and legitimate as the of Romans if not more. Don't forget, the Cyrus the Great liberated and preserved many ancient cultures (that would have been wiped out by any other rule) that we can learn of today. Judaism being one of them. Not to mention their commercial impact from East to West. Yes, it is as much of "our history" as it is part of Global history. Ps, sorry for the long text. Don't get me wrong, I love Roman History. But I love history broadly speaking. And I believe glorifying the one in contrast to the other may lead to an inaccurate perspective of what we are.
Good soundtracks, ty
I am against France and ottoman, i am the third with portugal but i dont succeed in having good allies . Year 1700 I am new to it (200 hours), is the game still payable?
I'm currently doing a world conquest attempt as milian (I plan to use the Italian formables to my advantage before I form Italy). I currently hold around 55% of the trade in Genoa (everyone else is the papal state (who will soon be almost gone in my next war against them). Aragon (who is one of my next war targets). Naples (they were released by aragon. Only to have Aragon restore the pu, and recently the Iberian wedding happened which means they aren't getting freed any time soon). Savoy (who is basically just a sitting target for me that all nations seem to accept that I will own), and France because they beat me to province). And soon I'll gain around that much control over Venice (Mantua isn't exactly strong but keeps getting oddly powerful alliances for a nation of there size. and Venice kept getting really strong allys but never worked on gaining much power for themself until recently, but both of them had very exploitable alliances). So I have a question, where would be best to move a merchant? And when should I do so? (My main node is Genoa. And I'm collecting in both Genoa and Venice. I released Byzantium and dalmatia from Venice (the ottomans and Venice split Byzantium, though I was only able to take a single province each to release them both), and I don't recall if I can make trade companies with the dharma dlc or if I need wealth of nations or some other dlc)
You need to send one to collect in Venice for sure. The 2nd one would probably be the best in either Champagne, Ragusa or Alexandria, but definitely not Valencia. Can't say for sure without knowing values, you have to try it out. Good luck!

One question, what is ship trade power propagation? I know ship trade power, but the age ability is different and I have never known why.
YES, it's very different. I wanted to cover that as well, but I totally forgot. My bad :( Basically, you know how you get some of your trade power transferred upstream from your provinces - it's the same thing, but for ships. So, if you're protecting trade in the English channel, you'll also get some trade power in Lubeck, Champagne, etc. E.g. with +20% ship tradepower propagation 20% × 20% = 4% of ship trade power will be transferred. (basically, it's almost useless imo)
is that "here there be monsters" map a mod?
It's Atlas Aesthetic!
I personally think the "entire region minimum autonomy" from governor's mansion is the best of the 1k ducat trade company investments.
That's the choice if you're looking for manpower, forcelimit, production/tax income, but not the best if you're purely for money and trade, imo.
@@theeu4guy Agreed, but by the time I'm investing in trade companies I don't care about money usually.
It says "same area" vs "trade company provinces" and that's why some apply to provinces in the area that aren't trade companied.
Ohh, thanks for clarifying!
Yes, up to date knowledge. Thank you.
Finally a video that covers everything that's not 5 years old. Good job!
Grug make green number big make red number smol This is my level of proficiency at this game so far.
Excellent start.
