    Dalits hide they are Dalits but are the first ones when it comes to take up the reservations seats by showing caste certificates! They should hide there too!! 😂 Also, the reservation is major cause of anger among upper castes as they don’t get deserved seats inspite of being economically backward. So, it’s a fair trade off - if you are Dalit, then you enjoy reservation, you also take the discrimination.

    this video might be just a little bit biased? truth is, if you're smart/hardworking and willing to job hop, and you go the big tech route, you'll likely be making 200-600k within a few years. in contrast, if you go the solo/startup route, the most likely outcome is failure and bankruptcy. that said, there's no reason a solo dev can't jump into big tech after they fail a few times. its just that that comes with a big opportunity cost since all that time you were missing out on that high six figure comp. another thing worth considering is that big tech creates a structured atmosphere which makes it easier to stay focused/motivated. for those who like to aim for their next promo with clearly defined goals, then big tech is a better option. startup/solo is like the wild west where you're much more likely to randomly end up in a pile of shit.

    Although Dalits are generally despised by all non-Dalit Hindus, you are actually picking a peculiarity and trying to generalize it. To be more clear, the successful CEOs shown by you are mainly Tamil Brahmins (informally called TamBrahms), who hail from the South Indian State of Tamilnadu. Most Brahmins or other upper castes from the rest of India never became as successful as these TamBrahms in the US. The success of TamBrahms in the US and even in India is due to historical reasons and caste solidarity. Before the arrival of the Britishers in India, the Brahmins were generally neither politically nor economically dominant, although they were socially respected. India was mainly dominated by those locally dominant castes or ethnic groups that had muscle power, although they were lagging in education. However, the British rule made the Brahmins dominant politically and economically as well. One of the biggest beneficiaries among Brahmins was this small group of TamBrahms, as they learned English early and started serving the British at important positions. After consolidating themselves, those TamBrahms helped their fellow TamBrahms to get important positions in the British government. So this small group became very successful in India. They followed the same template in America as well. Edit: You aren't factually right at 3:06, as Brahmins and other 'General Category' candidates are getting 10% reservation under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota.

    It is obvious that you have put a lot of effort into this video. But you will have a low viewer retention due to two main factors: a) the longish length of the video; and b) your accent, as your target audience is mostly native English speakers. So at least in the initial stages of your UA-cam career, try to keep the videos, let's say, around 9 minutes long. This will happen when you can provide the summary and the overview of the topic more succinctly. You will also need to work a bit on your accent as well. Finally, being an Indian, I have heard all sorts of English accents, but your accent seems unique to me. So, are you a native of Germany, Greece, Russia, or somewhere else? BTW, keep it up! You certainly have the potential to become a successful UA-camr.

    Dear Victoria, I like the content you make. I'm neither a Brahmin nor a Dalit, but I'm an Indian and I'd never faced any discrimination in India at all, and the best part "I'm in tech, as a Next Js Developer". And I have some major complains against this video. Unfortunately, you learnt about different types of castes of India at a very basic level from Press and Media that are working outside of India. Let me tell you some of our history, many years ago our ancestrals work with the people of same work-category (not caste, like carpenters with carpenters, like we work in tech with tech savvy people), in this way they become higly skilled. They live together, they never said that "you belong to this caste, you are ugly, etc.". After the coward invasion of Mughals and British, they seperated people by their work force, they destroyed our culture of "वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् (i.e. the world is one)". Before the invasion, there were very minor or almost no cases of casteism in India. But during this Invasion conflicts, clashes, poverty and casteism increased exponentially, GDP decreased massively. Before this era, India was called as a Golden Bird of the world, but after these 2 invasions, India was suffering from extreme poverty. But as of now India just eliminated whole extreme poverty, you can check this article here: www.brookings.edu/articles/india-eliminates-extreme-poverty/ Unfortunately you shown a wrong pyramid kind of structure by dividing Hindus, let me tell you that Brahmins are those who feel god everywhere (generally Saints, Priests), Kshatriyas are those who are securing our nations, Vaishyas are those who do trade, and all others are considered as Shudras. It does'nt mean that Kshatriyas will help Kshatriyas only and vice versa. There are so many people in India whose parents where businessmen, but they are joining the Army, so many people whose parents were doing other works (considarebly Shudras) but they are doing businesses, jobs in marketing and tech as well. Let me tell you one good reason why majorly the CEOs of big tech are brahmins, first of all you need to learn a little bit about a normal day routine of a normal brahmin family. As I have brahmin friends and all kinds of friends, so I can describe it in a good and easy way. Generally, Brahmins follow an "early to bed, early to rise" routine, they wake up do yoga/meditation/chanting/etc., they read sacred books and other study books a lot, they do puja daily. In this way, they become a good reader and stay healthier, and you might have heard that "A good leader must be a good reader", like bill gates, elon musk, steve jobs, etc. Others may do those things, but they generally quit that routine after some days. So discipline is broken, you should know that discipline is very much important for any kind of job. Maybe my comment looks a little bit rude, I apologize for that. But please do a little bit of deep research before making any alegations. Thanks.

      As a Brahmin myself, I thank you for this statement. I have lived most of my life as an NRI, but I did spend enough time in India to know that the West just casually promotes the idea that discrimination exists in the form of caste system in India. Even the Vedas, mention varnas as "jobs" and not castes, the Brahmins werewere mainly scholars, priests, doctors and the only thing hereditary in this case, as sanctioned by the religious texts is the priest part. When England invaded, they promoted the idea of castes being upper or lower to create a divide and many people fall victim to this stupid divide to this day. India is a land of equal opportunity, at least in terms of cultural and religious grounds, countries like UK and USA that actively discriminate against even their presidential candidates on the basis of religion and origin shouldn't get to lecture us on this.

      I totally get what you're saying! I believe that having an open chat with your boss is always the best move, no matter the outcome. • @KohrakGKOH
    @KohrakGKOH 2 місяці тому

    I work full time remote and I agree that the return to the office is stupid. Even in countries where there's not that issue with state taxes and incentives is still being done. I just don't agree on the international part. The issue is not because of legacy, it is to cater to each country's interest and that's why is such a complex issue with taxes and laws involved. Economies can be heavily affected if everybody could go work from anywhere and don't pay taxes in the place they are at. Working while traveling is not illegal for the most part, as long as you don't get to the point of changing tax residences, a lot of countries use the 3 or 6 months benchmark to determine where your tax residence should be. Yes there's a bunch of smart people out there but you see how hard is to make people agree on things while seeing the United nations meetings, European parliament meetings and even the national parliament meetings on each country. So yeah it is not that simple, dealing with taxes, laws, residence and time zones is a hassle and cost a lot of money so it is understandable that most companies won't deal with that so you might find that it might not be worth setting up a company with worldwide working policies unless you have a massive global organization

    • @victoria.endless
      @victoria.endless 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the feedback! Totally agree about how countries just can't seem to get on the same page. Feels like we need some stronger trigger to kick things off the ground, kinda like how countries once managed to agree on a standard passport format. Maybe the nomad visa is a first weak step in that direction

    • @KohrakGKOH
      @KohrakGKOH 2 місяці тому

      @@victoria.endless the digital nomad visa is only one variable on the equation, it only really solves how to stay somewhere legally for a period of time. Taxes are the problem, all countries want a piece of your income cake and there's little to no incentive for countries to let people get away with their tax money and go somewhere else. In the US is even worse because of the fact that states have different tax rules. So countries create nomad visas in order to attract people and their money but there's no incentive for the home countries to allow people to go away. Same as there's no incentive for countries to allow companies to hire remote workers from abroad when they need to make sure that their local population is employed and paying taxes

    I did not quite parse what do you think is the answer to why companies want to move people back to the office. Yes, the "cheap layoff" strategy is one thing, but it does sound like something not all companies are interested in.

    • @victoria.endless
      @victoria.endless 2 місяці тому

      This issue's really tricky, and the explanations I've got are just some of the possibilities. I was hoping to pin it down to something logical (like layoffs or tax breaks). But there are tons of emotional triggers too. This includes the mindset of some bosses who think they can't manage their team unless they're physically watching every move, even though folks in the office are actually more likely to procrastinate than those at home. And then there's the issue of empty offices freaking out the upper management. Plus, companies are often rigid and hesitant to make big changes - it's human nature after all. Both people and companies find it hard to undergo such massive shifts

  • @TPayne377
    @TPayne377 2 місяці тому

    I'm head of technology at a tech company and I've gotta say that there really are tangible benefits to have people in the office, and it really is the 'cliched' water cooler convos. Our most recent patent was created between three of us from a completely unrelated convo we were having at our desks. This never would've happened had we all been working from home. I think the realty is the ideal situation is a combination of the two. Individual work definitely tends to be more productive without the interruptions of a an office but the number of new idea's being generated definitely declines when more than 2 days a week are spent outside of the office.

    • @victoria.endless
      @victoria.endless 2 місяці тому

      Congrats on the patent! I think it's awesome when employees get to choose whether to come into the office or not.
