While watching this episode for the first time I got the feeling that Ponta knew how Ariane felt and was intentionally teasing and tempting her.

Honestly, I think a lot of people had the same issue I did watching this show. After overlord, it's pretty hard to measure up to Ainz when it comes to rattle-me-bones-boys. I kept expecting Arc to turn out a lot more selfish and entitled and/or evil because of how powerful he really is the first couple episodes, again, probably because of Overlord. But honestly, once I got past and realized Arc is in fact really a white knight in the most literal sense, it was a really enjoyable lighthearted story to follow. Both Arc and Ariane are goofy and their dynamic was fun to watch.
