Welcome to my channel! I’m sharing what my hair looked like before my Sisterlock Install. I have fine low density hair. I have salt and pepper hair. My salt hair is my Sparkles. I’m on the road to Silver hair. I don’t know how long that will take but liking st my roots it’s coming. 😆 Come along with me as I document this new chapter in my hair journey.
Congratulations! 1 year is such a fun milestone!🎉 December will mark my 4 year anniversary of my DIY microloc journey! I am so excited, and trusting the process is the prize!😊 your hair is beautiful
Thank you so much! Early congratulations to you on hitting four years. That’s Amazing! You’re right we must trust the process because that’s the prize. Well said. Stay tuned for more updates as I celebrate year 2 at the end of October. I’m so glad I kept videos of my updates and can share them.
How long have you had your Sisterlocks? I’m loving the journey!
Embrace the special nuances of your journey. Your uniqueness is what makes you beautiful.
@@nicoleanderson3381 agreed I’m loving the journey. Thanks for watching
I’m excited to catch up with sharing my journey. 11.5 months and counting. I’m loving the process.🎉
Beautiful 😍 they’re flourishing so well
Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I will be posting updates soon
Thanks for your patience everyone! It’s been quite a busy year. I’m loving these Sisterlocks, too. Are you enjoying your Sisterlocks?
your hair looks great. my locs are similar to yours and I have experienced losing one or two. I am so glad to have sisterlocks
very nice
My locs aren't falling out. But a few have shed hair that's moving down the strand. I started with two strand twist.
I love the sparkles!! I get mine installed in 3 weeks!! I'M SO EXCITED!!
You’re going to love them. Congrats on embarking on the journey.
Do you remember how your Sisterlocks were doing at 5 months?
Beautiful! I really like the side braid.
Thank you so much! Gotta switch it up sometimes 😃
I’m glad that you have experienced positive results after shampooing your hair. It’s to know that you are experiencing growth and thickness. I believe hair grows in a clean-healthy scalp.
@@sylviag59I’m following my consultant’s advice and it’s working. I’m looking forward to consistently shampooing a couple times a month but what she recommends seems to be working. So I’m happy about that.
Your hair looks good! I'm still a loose natural about to transition to microlocs next month. ❤
@@valnaviawalker2657 thank you! That’s wonderful! Congratulations and enjoy your journey
🤓👍🏽
Your hair is coming along beautifully! Losing a lock or two happens so no worries really.
Thanks! Fortunately it wasn’t a full lock just the bottom half so that’s good too.
@@SparklestoSilverLocs I understand. I'm almost 19 months sisterlocked and I've lost a couple about the size of yours. Overall though, my hair is growing beautifully. ❤ yours will or is too.
@@Gloria-xz7yk Very nice! Did you lose yours at the root or half of a lock like I did?
Did you problem with kitchen unlock !!!! I experienced a loss loc too but it is thick now where it fell out
My understanding of kitchen is that the kitchen is located in the back of the head. Is that right? I just want to make sure I’m understanding your question.
About half of my lock fell out at the front edge of my head as I was trying to explain in the vid. Fortunately it didn’t fall out at the root. I really think is hair shed
My locks look exactly like yours I love the sparkles
Awe thanks so much! Sparkles are wonderful right?
Have you experienced losing hair or a lock falling out?
Thanks for the update - I definitely see more fullness and length. It looks great!
You’re welcome! I’m really enjoying this journey. Thanks for watching and encouraging along the way.
You and your Sisterlocks are beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your journey. My establishment days are scheduled for 02/21-02/23/23. I’m nervous and excited at the same time. It’s going to be a few long days. But, I’m feeling like it will be worth it. I have fine hair but probably medium density. There may be a few lower density areas. May I ask where you purchased your shirt ? 😉😊
Hello👋🏾 Thanks for taking the time to share. Congratulations on embarking on the journey. It’s exciting! Please come back to share how your journey is coming along from time to time. My loctician IG LocsbyDoc gave this shirt to me on my establishment date. She is amazing!
@@SparklestoSilverLocs Your Loctition sounds amazing! Thank you.
@@MsSandra_toyou you’re welcome!
What is the longest you have gone between Re-ties?
You sisterlocks are gorgeous. My install say will be 2/18, 2/19/23. I am so excited to be taking this journey.
Thanks so much! I’m really loving how my Sisterlocks are coming along. Congratulations on choosing to take this journey! You’re going to love them. I really appreciate that you subscribed as well.
I was established 2 weeks before you- Oct 12th and 13th of 2022
That’s wonderful ! Congratulations on your establishment. How are you enjoying the journey ?
❤️ it - I haven’t had any major problems
@@nichelebrown1163 That’s wonderful to hear! I haven’t had any major problems either. Sisterlocks are great!
I love your hair ❤and your journey, keep going sista!! Your hair is defenitly fuller! I have a question? Do you wear your sisterlocks always loose? You tell on a video that you sometimes styled it at a wedding and another occasion! But I’m interested!😊
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the comment. In the video share I described how I wore my hair at a wedding years ago. I was describing the one time that I didn’t wear a washngo as a loose natural. At that time my hair was not locked and I got a rod set one time for a wedding most of the time as a loose natural it was just a washngo as I rarely changed styles. As for now, with my Sisterlocks, I just put it up or wear it down or put one side up. The “loose” that I was describing was as a loose natural. So I hope that clarifies. Are you embarking on the Sisterlock journey?
Your hair is nice! Do you do hairstyles on your sisterlocks? Or are you wear your sisterlocks hair loose?
Thank you! I wear my hair up in a bun, loose or pinned up on one side for now. I’m sure I’ll try other styles as they mature.
I’m on my third week and second wash. My hair looks very similar and styled like yours. I’m trusting this process. I don’t tie down at night I just sleep on silk pillowcase. I appreciate the swelling and shrinkage for volume, I’ve microlocs though. But sending you wishes of a successful loc journey!
Very nice! It sounds like you have a very low maintenance process. My loctician sleeps on a pillowcase as well. I’m looking forward to graduating to that as my locs mature so, in the meantime, I follow my loctician’s instructions. It’s a cool process to chronicle.
Your locs are gorgeous! I have the salt/pepper hair too. I’m scheduled for my install 3/7 & 3/8/23. I’m getting a little excited about it!!
Thanks you so much! Congratulations on embarking on the journey. How exciting!
Looking good Sis❣️ It gets better each day!!😀
Thank you! It’s feeling good! 😄
Trust the process! Your Sisterlocs are cute 🥰. I’m 26 months Sisterloc’d with fine thin low density hair. I just had my Retie on 01-21 and my loctician is amazed with my growth and loc thickness. Your Sisterlocs will start locking at 6 months and getting thicker. Enjoy the journey of experiencing your loc transformation.
Thank you! That is so great to hear! I’m so glad to hear that you’re are seeing the thickness and growth. I’m enjoying this process as well. It’s an incredible journey. I appreciate your encouragement
Mine is going to be 1-15-23 I’m excited and I can’t wait
Wonderful! Congratulations! It’s an amazing journey!
How did the install go?
Your locks are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your journey. I am scheduled for establishment 03/09/2023. It's exciting and unnerving at the same time 🙂
Thank you! I’m enjoying the journey this far. Congrats on making the decision to get them installed! Let me know how it goes.
I have a mild case of psoriasis! I have tight coily, high dense 4c hair. I have found that aloe v era juice, glycerin, tea tree oil, and mct oil works for me. trust me when I tell you. , I use to have white flaky scalp! I can make a flake in my scalp if I tried! i know everyone is different but try it and let me know? Your hair is pretty, looks like wavy hair, I can't tell u have lock!
Thanks for sharing and watching! Once I washed my hair the dandruff went away but if it comes back I’ll keep your suggestion in mind. Also thanks on the compliment. I love when water gets on it because it gets wavy without braiding. I’m so excited to see where this goes.
Your hair is looking good and normal for new sistas. my sister just had hers installed the same as you and 2 months in. She has medium density thickness and it's transforming and is beautiful. I am going on 17 months sisterlocked and I shampoo right before every retie. Always listen to your loctician as she is experienced and knows your hair and how it should feel and look like. TRUST me your hair is transforming daily. I have med density hair and I don't experience much dandruff or itching. I drink a lot of water You may want to drink more water . Moisture is important inside as well. Another thing if permitted by your loctician..you can lightly mist and bantu knot it as it give hair fullness and body I had slippage almost every retie except the last 2 reties.. anyhow.. hang in there! The best is yet to come and you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Hello👋🏾 Thanks so much for the encouragement. I’m such a rule follower so I’m trusting the process and my loctician. It’s good to hear from those who have had similar experiences and made/making it. LOL…. I’m looking forward to when I can wash my hair more. In the meantime I’ll continue to monitor my hydration. I eat lots of water fruits and drink water consistently but I was in another state for the holidays with very cold temps so it was probably drier than I’m used as well because I can’t remember the last time I had dandruff. Thanks again!
@@SparklestoSilverLocs AWESOME! I too had some dry spells when it got cold here in NJ but I noticed little to no dandruff as I keep hydrated. Alot of NEW things happening in New Year for many especially the Children of God! I'm excited for you.. YOUR HAIR IS GOING TO BE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL... Sisterlocks is NO respector of persons..meaning they are just pretty on almost everyone..lol MOST Errrbodody look BEAUTIFULLY transformed as we obey and adhere to the process❣️ Oh, BTW my little picture above I was 10 months SL installed Aug 2021.. so it's amazing how much longer its gotten since that picture...I started with 3 to 4 inches of hair!. 😂
@@Gloria-xz7yk it’s so interesting how all of our hair responds and how our journeys play out. Your Sisterlocks look fantastic!!! I stay hydrated as well so we’ll continue to trust the process and follow the guidance of my loctician. I enjoy my Sisterlocks but found something I dislike and want to be transparent as I share my journey! Thanks for exchanging your experiences because it really helps to hear what everyone is experiencing. God bless you!
Also I received a message that a person by the name of Gloria has subscribed to my channel. Is that you? It’s coming up as an @user… on this thread but thank you of that is you! I really appreciate New subscribers
@@SparklestoSilverLocs yes maam..subscribed!
I got my locks on October 6 and 7!! I wash mine about four times already !
Firstly, Congratulations on getting locs! Thanks for sharing! I know you love being able to do that. I’m so looking forward to getting the ok to do that. Have you had any unravel yet?
@@SparklestoSilverLocs the last row in the back but my loctician has no problem doing them I had two retightening already , it's now two weeks after my last one and they seems to be doing good!!.
That’s so good to hear.
I don’t know what I would have done , if I had to wait that long to shampoo my hair🤷🏾♀️
It surely is tough for me. At least I know that this is not everyone’s experience.
Thanks for watching! What do you like most about Sisterlocks? Dislike?
Aloe Vera juice is good for your hair and scalp.
Hi Virginia! Thanks for that suggestion!
Did you let your hair dry before you took your bands off.
Hi Niqueemo, I didn’t let my hair dry before taking them out of the bands. It was damp. My consultant is okay with that.
@@SparklestoSilverLocs ok.. thanks for the responding..
@@pinkfox71 you’re welcome
Try which hazel
Thanks for that suggestion!
Knowing that we can scratch our scalp. What do you use to soothe your itching scalp?
I got my hair trimmed before I started my SL journey- I had three colors going on with the sparkles, so I cut the third color out
I trimmed before too. I never colored my hair but if I did I probably would have done the same thing.
I have “sparkles” - I started my Sisterlocks in October of this year - I have 3 type curly hair- high porosity- coiled and curled up 😀 enjoy your fabulous locks
Love it! We have to embrace our “Sparkles”. Welcome to the journey! I love that you’re aware of the various hair types you have. Our hair is amazing, right?
I don’t know of anyone else hair that does that, but I have my suspicions- does your Loctitian know?
My consultant said that my hair is “fighting” the locking process. It’s her theory. I’m curious what your suspicions are. Do tell…
I think that your hair is a curly type and I think that you need to encourage your naturally curly hair- the looser the curl pattern the longer it takes for your hair to lock🤔 just my opinion- I am new to locks as well, but En Toi has a YT Channel and she has some great videos on Sisterlocks.
My Loctitian taught me how to bring out my curl (I didn’t know I have curls) pattern before she did my locks because she said straight hair is not the best for starting locks.
@@nichelebrown1163 thanks for sharing Nichole! It seems I had enough curl to get them started. You have to check out my recently post first wash video. I’m so happy to get some water on them😆
@@nichelebrown1163 I really like En Toi’s Channel as well
