I happen to find Frankie Lymon,s grave site. He's buried in Saint Raymond,s Cemetery, in Queens, New york. I loved his music through the years, and at age 77 years old I still play his songs.

Please, why do you make it sound as if Frankie is to blame for his downfall? He was just 13 years old.... A KID, that was taken advantage of by CONNIVING LOWDOWN Deceitful white European Men. What does a 13 year old Kid know about any type of BUSINESS or how to deal with all the FAME and Fortune? If Levy and all those other EVIL crooks really cared about him as a PERSON, as a HUMAN, and not as a MONEY TREE, Frankie would NOT have fallen to the streets and of DRUG use.... RIP Frankie!!! 🙏

This documentary makes it seem that for many years, all the listeners assumed that Frankie Lymon was white. That's simply not correct. That may have been the case in the very beginning when they first came out. But my dad and mom (both Italian) grew up in the 50's and 60's in an Italian neighborhood, and they said that everybody back then knew Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers were black. They had been in movies, on television, on album covers, and performed at rock & roll concerts everywhere. Even in the movie "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" there's a scene showing white people in a diner easily recognizing Little Richard, Frankie Lymon, etc. Not that I'm denying that there was tremendous racism in some parts of the USA back then. But there seems to be this false narrative nowadays that rock & roll fans only liked Frankie and the Teenagers because they thought they were white and were later stunned that they actually were black. That's total BS. Nearly all the fans knew these guys were black, just as they knew many of the early rock & roll and doo-wop groups were black. White people listening to black R&B music on typically white stations is a big reason why the music became so big!

Not only Frankie but Elvis, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, David Ruffin, Sam Cook who was murdered, and many others also sucommed to drugs and alcohol. Luckily Al Green, Ray Charles, Little Richard returned to Jesus Christ and were able to defeat their drug addictions. God bless them. Evangelist Roger Mansour

I can't help but SCREAM!! This WAS A LITTLE 13 YEAR OLD CHILD WHERE WERE HIS PARENTS?????? They themselves were Musicians which means that they Knew & Understood just how bad & cruel that kind of life is surely they Understood how evil & wicked people in that line of work can be. So many times when i hear his story there's none or very little mentioning of his parents in his life... He was only 13 they should've been there or somewhere around, it's just sad so so sad every time i hear his story... He was only 13. 😢😭

This really reminds of the line from low spark of high heeled boys "The percentage you're paying is too high priced While you're living beyond all your means And the man in the suit has just bought a new car From the profit he's made on your dreams" Really sucks how many musicians write awesome songs and end up with nothing :(
