There are different Mennonites in this video. There are Old Colony people as well as Noah Hoover people. They could not intermarry nor " go back and forth".

Richard Burns I was wondering, why Mennonites just do farming and nothing else? It seems that before they also thrived in industry and in urban centers! Is it because a new theology?

I thought the Mennonite Community at Shipyard were fairly conservative so I am surprised to see you on UA-cam! I spent six months in Belize in 2007 and met a lovely guy who was a tradtional Mennonite in the Barton Creek community (he was their farrier) in San Ignacio. We got talking at the bus stop there. I often wonder how he is doing but I have no way of contacting him as that community is pretty remote. Next time I am in Belize I will have to come and meet you guys. Belize have different Mennonites some communitys are more traditional some have little more technology already Shipyard has 2 groups one traditional one more modern
Au début c'est des mennonites très progressistes: les femmes n'ont pas de coiffe, les hommes et les femmes mélangés à l'église. Peut-être sont-ce des visiteurs ? Mais j'ai des doutes, les instruments de musique ne sont pas non plus acceptés par les communautés les plus conservatrices. Habituellement, ces communautés modernes s'effondrent après quelque temps (exogamie, faible transmission, faible natalité). Mais il y a des communautés plus conservatrices au Bélize (on en voit à la fin).
Interessante Lebensweise. Nur: Ich weiß nicht wie man es aus der Bibel herleiten kann so leben zu müssen. Aus meiner Sicht als Christ haben beide "Zeiten" Vor- und Nachteile.
