As much as I LOOOOVE that Loveless costume, this is sadly a skip for me. I have ob0 Kamura/ob3 Bahamut Rod which I feel is adequate for what I want in Ganbantein - the patk up all buff. Even then, you need 2 cast/10atb to get full patk up buff even at max ob10 compared to 8atb with Kamura ob0, or just 4 atb at ob6. Considering we just have that excellent New Year banner which completely drained my crystal resources, and then one half anniversary coming next month, I prefer to skip this one, and probably Yuffie/Barret too and wait for half anni. Unless Yuffie is so overpowered and can change my mind of course.

Im waiting to see the other two before i summon but Aerith looks extravagant in the outfit. But her weapon isnt bad but im in no rush just yet since i have kamura wand. But shell most likely be my go to pick. Healing and patk up + atb is still good even as a 5atb move

The reason why your damage varied a lot between attempts might be due to who the boss target for Dread attack For that reason, I changed my team from Aerith/Tifa/Cloud to Aerith/Tifa/Angeal. Without Provoke I feel the risk is too high if the boss target my main dps (Tifa). With Provoke, the boss will 100% use Dread on Angeal, and if he is using his limited weapon with Veil and HP is high enough it will even block Dread lol. Basically Tifa full dps with Holy Flame+Blue Daffodil, Aerith with Citric Ice buff+Terra Rod Ice debuff, and Angeal with veil/provoke+pdef down. No Patk up buff with this lineup (at least without Tifa's UW) but this setup does work for me to consistently get 13-14% on stage 5.

this one was the most difficult GB for me. I thought I was prepared, had so many options but bc of nuances of this boss I always was lacking smthg for best set up. In the end I had to go with Bahamut Aerith(Kamura/Citric),Daffodil Tifa(Holy Flame/Blue Daffodil), Valiant suit Zack(dont have Ice costume) Pressure Ridge/Cutlass(only OB4 so mid to high ph.def break.used his UW to break both m.def and ph.def to High before Summons) So Zack was breaking def/ice resist, Aerith could buff Ice dmg and I had Blizzard Blow on her as well and Leviathan(which was tough to fill up even on stage 5, on stage 4 in mock battle i had to use Breath of Earth LB). too much hustle and I did just 9-10.5%, lower than my best attempts in mock battles. Very hard to control all buffs/debuffs , always missed something, my best score in mock battles was 12.2%

Dude, I used Aerith, Cloud and Tifa both their ice weapons on OB1 and managed to get 8% on stage5 😂

I may or may not have used some of the weapon tickets I've been hoarding to get Tifa's ice glove to OB10 👀

Here's my strategy. Aerith/Tifa/Cloud. Aerith with Citric/Terra Rod OB6, Tifa full dps with Holy Flame/Blue Daffodil, Cloud with his Stream Saber/HardEdge. The most important thing is casting 2 Citric Want to Tifa/Cloud with Aerith's first 2 turns, before the boss use Dread. Cloud and Tifa can use their first turn to debuff pdef with Hardedge and weakness with Blue Daffodil. After the boss use dread, then Aerith use Terra Rod to reduce Ice resistance, and Breach to mantain Pdef down duration. If you have buff/debuff duration at level 5+, the ice buff will last through the whole Dread and there is no need to reapply until after the status is over. With Armory lvl68, it got me to 13% on stage 5. I didn't use Kamura to buff Patk because if you want to use 2 Citric+1 Kamura buff before Dread, you need to equip ATB weapon on Aerith to have enough time to cast all 3. And Ice imperil/pdef down will come from Zack instead of Cloud. It might work, but I only have Kamura at OB0 so I decided to forgo patk up entirely. The result isn't slightly lower than what I got with Citric/Terra Rod.

Dread is annoying. Kinda sucks we're limited to doing good by using Cid and Glenn for the most part

I’m very satisfied with my Ice Tifa so it’s an easy pass for me. Glad to Matt’s kit expanding. Going on my wishlist for sure. I thought for sure Barrett would be the second character to get provoke. Oh well…bring on Rebirth crossover!

I think tifa make more ice damge because of her holiday weapon 40% more damge.

I'll probably skip Cid and just do a few more on Tifa/Aerith LB banner, their my two mains anyway cause the game supports them so much like crazy. But we also have Glenn this week i believe so just have to see. Other than that its saving time for 1.5 anni

Anyway I did pull for Cid, but only up until his costume. And only because I need 12 more pull to get pity Premium Heart, so might as well use it to get Cid's stuff. Got his Rocket Spear to OB2 and Scimitar to OB3 along the way, but that's it. Not gonna pull anymore than that because I probably won't use him as much after the next guild battle. Probably won't even use him in the gb because Aerith can do pretty much the same thing as Cid can do but better due to having Jubilation, and OB6+ Terra Rod and Kamura.

I'm with you there about Cid. The only reason to pull his banner as of now is because of Enfeeble, which probably will helps a lot with next week's Guild Battle. But after that, I really doubt that he will be needed as much, especially for F2P/minnow/dolphin players who pulled his weapon below OB6. His kit is just lacking as of now, and Enfeeble alone is not good enough reason to put him in high level content outside certain Ice battles and max damage challenges. Even his costume is not that great overall. 20% extra buff/debuff duration for everyone is not that long.

The rate drops are pretty unfair and on top of that you need at least 6 copies to make the weapon somewhat useful for current top tier bosses.

You make a lot of great points. I completely agree that Cid’s kit is just incomplete making him difficult to invest in right now. His next banner and/or weapons will say alot. Tifa is another character who’s evolved since her first banner. I’ve been playing with Angeal veil lately and I feel he’s has a much better investment. It’s wait and see for me
