When I see wildlife in town like that I always think of predators like wolves, coyotes and mountain lions driving the deer and elk to safety among humans.

Have not seen our house yet , will be out there August 1. Hope fires are rained out . Floods are bad , but lack of zoning means there were too many houses down in the 100 yr flood plan

I'm so sorry you in Ruidoso are suffering every week. I drove over there this past Sunday, to eat out and shop, since the authorities asked people to come. It was a beautiful day and the first time I'd been in Ruidoso since the fires. The majority of the town looks pretty much unscathed from the fires, which is great. But one could see the water marks and some debris from the flood of the previous week, your first flood, right in town. Those mobile home parks looked devastated. Heart breaking. And in your video here, it's obvious that that cabin's getting flooded. I wonder if there is anything that can be done to reduce the runoff? Straw thrown out on the ground? Reseeding of course, but that can't be done now, it would just run off. How about creating culverts to direct the water into large holding ponds? Something needs to be built, quickly, to slow that run off before the saturated ground gives way to a large mudslide. It was this past Sunday, of July 4th holiday weekend, and hardly anyone was in Ruidoso. No usual bumper to bumper summer traffic. No crowds in the stores or restaurants. One wishes one could wave a wand and make it all go away, so you can have your lives back to normal. Thank you for filming these videos.

There was a storm three days before. They say it smoldered for days. Even if it is covered at least people will get their home insurance if they have it. Insurance won’t cover anything under arson. If a human being did this intentionally they will get theirs.. Karma is a bitch. If not in this life in the next..
