Ever wondered why some leftovers break down quickly while others seem to take forever? I’ll show you the differences in how these materials decompose over time and give you a clearer picture of what’s really happening in your compost.

Great video! Thanks for sharing your insights. You bring up great things to consider. One thing you didn't mention was build quality. Did a cheaper system mean it was cheaply made? Thanks.
Thats a great question and in hindsight I should have mentioned it a little at least. To answer your question, both systems are quite sturdy using food grade plastic that is UV resistant, and they feel very similar in terms of quality and thickness of material. They both also have a 5-year warranty, but I'll be honestly surprised if I run into any issues (if I do, I'll also definitely be making a video on it as well). When I mentioned cheaper, I was only referring to price. Hope this helps!
That spinner base is $70 the other base is $50 and the supports are $24 each or 3/$59.
You’re right! My initial price was based on the version I have without wheels, which cost about $40, so that number was stuck in my mind. However, the fully loaded spinner with wheels, plus the multi-pack supports, does add up quickly. I still think the main focus of the video stands, as it shows how each system lets you choose which features to include, but I agree that once you start adding accessories, the price gap narrows significantly.
I love that you are doing this review, and the garden stalk too! I am newer to tower gardens, your info is super appreciated! I'm curious which would be better for perennial herbs, like chamomile thyme, etc...We are very interested in both, but agree with you the price points are extremely different. Can't wait for your further updates, thank you very much!
Thats a great question and this is a scenario I am hoping to do a video on one day, but I imagine it will take a bit of time to observe differences. If I had to guess right now, long term the Garden Tower 2 should perform better with less effort. This is because the composting should provide nutrients longer while you would need to amend the soil in the GreenStalk. How often the amending needs to happen will be interesting to track.
This popped up on my front page, maybe because i watched a decomposing watermelon the other day! Informative video and interesting, thank you!
😂 I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I'm very interested in how these two units perform. Hope to see more on this topic in the coming weeks.
They do sell a lid that you can buy for $12 w/o the automatic watering system.
Oh! Thanks for sharing, I must have missed that. I do still wish that it came with the system but at least you can buy the lid on its own.
This is quite informative!
Glad it was helpful!
