Let's Tour Charles Bukowski's Los Angeles
Produced by aricallen.com Charles Bukowski lived within the city limits of Los Angeles most of his life. Some of the places where he lived, worked, drank, and ate are still exactly the same. Los Angeles eats itself to survive, so when it misses some chunks it's always good to double back and take another look. Please, join me on a smash tour of what's leftover from Buk's LA.

Behind the Shakeys! I can tell you lots of stuff..about behind tht shakeys but....ha good times over 35 yrs ago in the old hood
Beautiful! A nice film. Thank you. If anyone who saw this would like to learn more about Bukowski and LA, please check out my book, published in 2008, BUKOWSKI'S LA by Matt Dukes Jordan . (find them on Amazon) I spoke with many people who knew him well, including his wife, Linda, went to places he lived or hung out, took photos, included poems, drawings, photos, and more! Went to bars, etc. I have also posted 2 short Bukowski videos on UA-cam -- see the Matt Dukes Jordan "channel" for those. I put one up recently! This video is more smooth and beautiful, I must say. Excellent job. Mine are more raw and grainy…. yours is really excellent!
matt dukes jordan thanks for the kind words, your book BUKOWSKI'S LA was the inspiration for the piece.
big80blues Thanks for the reply. I wrote a long reply but it seems to have vanished. I'm trying again ! ….. Anyway, I saw this video a year ago and wondered -- Did he read my book? I guess you did! I wish you'd mentioned it in the video !!! oh well -- it's very nicely done ! But there is a lot more one can discover by reading my book !!! I hope some people watch your video then get a copy of the book that inspired it !!!!! -- Cheers, Matt
i eat at that shakey's all the time
GREAT VIDEO!! VERY INSPIRING...
This is a beautiful video. Thank you for making it.
The live stuff sounds like it's from an album called 'Hostage'. The other stuff is from interviews he did with Barbet Schroeder.
Where is the dialogue from?
reyizz !!!
Thanks for this
No no. Not like i imagined his boyhood home to be like..
