A leading biomedical teaching and research center established in 1978, Virginia Tech's Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine enrolls more than 700 doctor of veterinary medicine, master of public health, and biomedical and veterinary sciences graduate students. The college is a partnership between land-grant universities Virginia Tech and the University of Maryland. Locations include the main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia; the Animal Cancer Care and Research Center in Roanoke, Virginia; the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, Virginia; and the Gudelsky Veterinary Center in College Park, Maryland.

Senna, a pregnant toy poodle, faced a critical health scare when she stopped eating and became unwell. Rushed to the Virginia Tech Veterinary Teaching Hospital's intensive care unit, Senna received specialized care from both the ICU and theriogenology teams, enabling her to recover and safely give birth to an adorable litter of healthy puppies.
