For me this fix is a Godsend. Not only it did fixed the annoying avx2 errors I was having but also it worked extremely well in gameplay. I didn't experienced any blue screen and sound was perfect. Happy to hear that you can play the game now. Yeah about the sounds the game has its issues. But like it showed in my 30fps settings video if you turn off the audio mode headphone stereo and put dialogues to 5 the game has equal audio overall. Just make sure Windows is using stereo speakers and without any enhancements. Currently the game doesn't work well with 5.1 or more channels and only an official patch can fix it

Yeah Bro, this blue screen issue is due to the game not updated to latest version. Download the latest patch 5 for the game and it will work fine.

Currently f16 and avx instructions are mandatory in order to work since mod is coded for it. If the cpu is older than that it probably wouldn't perform any better even if the code is changed

You can lower the dialogue to 3 or 5 that will be more bearable. For other small sound effects and weapon attack sfx wait for official patch

Yeah, there are multiple reports of this issue. Right now make sure you're not using headphone stereo mode in options and lower the dialogue to 5. That's makes all sounds audible

Compared to previous solution, yes this changes the code in the exe and is not emulation of the instructions, so it runs natively and the performance is good

The dialogue sounds are boosted in the game by default and also some weapons, attacks and small sfx sounds are weirdly compressed in the PC version. The best you can do is set dialogue volume to 4 and sound settings to stereo only channels in windows settings instead of 5.1 if you're using. Other than that only an official patch can fix this issue

@@loquende33 now in the evening I am playing game it runs fine no sound issues like before i think they were just a glitch or due to cpu i have 1.5 game version and I am using game on hdd 7200 rpm with i7 3770 and rx 580 8gb runs great

If it's stuttering then probably something is maxing out like cpu, ram or gpu. Try setting the priority of the application to high and limit the fps to 30 that should fix the issue. Additionally, don't use fsr3.1 or dlss it's expensive on the gpu just use native Temporal upscaling

@@solidfiregaming so I did try the solution that you told me I set the priority to high and set my fps to lock to 60 but didn't work my GPU usage was 70 percent after lock of fps so still I get sound stuttering in intense fights and most of the time no stutters just works like normal and also I am only using frame gen and no fsr

It will stutter untill the shaders are saved mine did too and after the shaders are completed it will run fine and it will play smoothly if shaders are like 50 done so play while it reaches 100 from 50 percent

@@syedalizain5342 bro iam using rx 580 8gb and i7 3770 and game is on hdd 7200 rps and it runs like 70 fps on medium to high on and farmgen and fsr 3.0 on native so yeah and my shaders take like 30 min to load at start of game but after that played for like 3 hours and game runs like butter i don't know what's going on with your system I think it's the vram it's maxing out my GPU uses 6GB while playing this game

Using framegen and fsr is not recommend as far as I've tested it produces stuttering due to very expensive on cpu and gpu. Use native temporal AA and limit fps to 30 or 40 with medium settings. I never experienced any stuttering whatsoever with these settings

Wonderful. I've also added a note in the pinned comment which fixes shader compilation stuttering. Additionally you can limit fps with rtss for better frame pacing. Enjoy the game mate.

Please use the updated version. That should fix that issue. Note that your cpu should support SSE4, AVX & F16 instructions.

Tbh if developers implement all standard instruction sets for calculations as sse4, sse4.2, avx, avx2, fma I think a lot of cpus will be able to run it but due to time constraints they're choosing to use the one they fit suitable than making the game compatible on a wide range of hardware.

Unfortunately for now, it is only compatible with cpus having avx and f16. For compatibility with older cpus an official patch will fix the problem

That's odd, typically f16 instructions set is available in almost every cpu that supports sse4 or avx. I'm curious what cpu do you own btw?

@@solidfiregaming an ancient i5 2400, my motherboard doesn't support a cpu higher than this. Some games like Uncharted 4, Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima have the same same problem with f16c, but was fixed with a mod like this

​​@@vf3240I see. Well fingers crossed for an official update from devs regarding this as they have the source code and they can fix it easily. Reverse engineering the exe code for modding a specific instruction is hard but not impossible but it sure will take time.

Also as far as audio is concerned compared to ps5 version, I can confirm, there was an issue due to which certain weapon sounds, chest breaking and small effects would sound very muffled compared to dialogues which was very jarring when you've come after playing Gow 2018. There was an update on ps5 that fixed it not completely but mostly bearable. So I assume here on PC version Sony would release a patch for it as well.

i see, i was wondering since you seem to run it a lot better. im using an i7 3770 and rtx 2060 yet im getting severe stutters. gow 2018 ran fine for me though.

@@Yamoyashi Technically both cpu's are almost same just that fx supports more instruction sets in addition to AMV and FMA compare to i7 3770 which doesn't & God of war relies on both of these instruction sets. Otherwise overclocking could be an issue if you're using it. It should run similar to what your're seeing here

There are sound issues present like stuttery audio and crackling sound. There isn't anything you can do tbh. Its an emulation for avx2 so this is to be expected

The processor is too slow, so it creates heavy internal latency. Nothing you can do. B thankful ot even runs on the potato puter.

@@chopgr Here in this case it has nothing to do with CPU. The mod is making AVX2 code run on AVX cpu by spoofing it like an emulation on a low level. So its natural to experience stuttering gameplay & audio. Just wait until the devs release a patch & everything will work smoothly

@@solidfiregaming be as it may or for w/e other reason, the prime culprit is its advance age. It's a relic of the past that manages to run a last-gen game.
