A gas discharge tube I thought was rates for 2.5 times the power turns out it was not when I pulled the tube out and looked up the rating. So when I was running power I was getting an arching sound heard on my signal. It was this gas discharge tube reaching its saturation point. If I was thinking I should of made an audio gate of it. #cb #cbradio

yes its fun seeing people pump their station up.
Doesn't seem very active around me at all. Only radio activity I'm picking up is on a few of the ham frequencies, mainly the SARnet linked repeater system.
yes, it does take work. If there isn't local activity you gotta do things to get it going. Can't sit in front of the radio and treat it like UA-cam, gotta get out and touch grass.

no, its more, you can do more.
The polyphasers should be bolted to something conductive. (like the bus bar) The wire is not going to help ya.

I agree lightning protection is important. I used a morgan systems 3kw arrestor inline on my tower , all legs grounded 8ft. Cop I er rods and copper strap for bonding . Good info 73zzz

Where I lived in Florida it was totally dead moved to upstate New York and it’s totally dead. No locals just skip the damn shame putting up the ham antennas next week gave up on cb Do you like listening to you guys though and what’s up I haven’t seen you on there for the last two weeks there radioman 260 where’d you go? did you give up casting on UA-cam started on CB in the 70s sure do miss it but can’t talk to myself

I have veen dabbling in cb and 10 m soon once i get my tech ticket. But cb in my area isnt to lively. Some days u hear more. Some days u hear nothing

I’ve been using a similar tape that’s made by Scotch for electrical connections. It seals great but it’s rough getting it back off when you need to make changes. Scotch 2228 is the number. 277 -WV
