I'm Giacomo, this is my journey into woodworking and craftmanship.
I'm currently studying Materials Engineering but since 2020 I've been learning how to build stuff with wood, ranging from electric guitars to forniture.

Making a bar Stool (js this the best design?)
Thanks for watching!
The best bar stool design (hopefully)!!
A while back I built a stool for my brother's bike shop, and I didn't really design the joints that well and eventually it broke down.
I decided to go with a pass through joints for the seat and legs, it sure is more stable and though now.
I reused the old seat, so you will not find how I make the seat but just a clip of me drilling the mortise for the legs.
(I transitioned from using my phone to an actual camera for recording the videos and I somehow messed up and now the glue-up clips are missing)
wood for the structure: ash / wedges: walnut
finish: vernice piano di lavoro V33 incolore

Shoe storage bench with dovetails and sliding doors
Thanks for watching! Custom shoe storage bench. The build itself was very fast but I had to renovate the shop, as you can see in the late part of the video, so it actually took me over 2 months to complete it. It features dovetails joint, 2 shelves with sliding dovetail to allow the wood to expand and contract, sliding doors with openening to let the shoes breathe, and hexagonal legs. wood for ...

Broheim get some push blocks goin :O Better to be gung ho on the safety BEFORE you realize you needed it really bad :X Esp on that jointer that thing will eat you. Just saw a vid of a dude that had his hand go inside the jointer because he didnt have the guard that you 'push' out of the way when you feed a board in. He wasnt using push blocks and said he regretted not having that jointer attachment. That being said, SUBBED! Keep up the good work :D Love the design of your doors how they close and make an X is pretty crucial!
The stool came out amazing! Please be careful with those hands, wear gloves!
Everyone else on you tube... Don't wear gloves !
Don’t wear gloves, please
This looks awesome! Great work.
Glad you think so!🚀
awesome, awesome cabinet build - thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the clamping caul for the dovetails - ingenius yet so simple, will definitely be borrowing that idea from you.
Glad you liked it! It’s not an idea of mine, I think I first saw Ishitani Furniture use it and kind of copied it, but happy you like it anyway! Be careful and safe :)
clean
Thanks 🙏
Really, really beautiful piece. What a joy to watch.
Thanks! glad you enjoyed it :)
Are plans available?
Please get a guard on the jointer... your hand was so close when you reached over. And then the tie from the apron nearly went in it. I've used mine without a guard a few times and it's just not safe thing to do at all. Other than that, great skills and the piece looks great!!
Thanks for the tip! I haven’t found one yet but I’ll keep searching :)
@@jamesinthewood make one? Could make for some good content too. Tool tour and upgrades or something?
Really bonnie. Well done. 👏👏
Thank you! 😄
Really nice work. Great detail
Thank you very much 🚀🚀
god damn son, you're living the dream aren't you. i'm very jealous. this is an awesome build!!
Not living it yet but sure I enjoy the little time I can spend on the shop! Thank you!!
Beautiful workmanship. You call it a bench but if my children sat on it I would have to confiscate their phones for a month.
Nooo why? It’s meant to be used! Thank you so much for the compliment 🚀🚀
Why do you use the Japanese planers and saws? Any good?
As for the planes there is not a real reason other than the feeling I get from using it, I have other western type planes but I always find myself using the Japanese one, it feels more natural. As for the saw I started with Japanese saws, and I’ll continue to use them, as you can get very fine cuts in comparison with push saws. 🚀
@@jamesinthewood Thank you for your reply. I like diy wood craft videos. The y say too. But we mainly use soft wood. And I think japanese planers seems difficult to have collect tuning. You, european?, seems to be challenger. Anyway I'm looking foward to your next videos. Thanks.
Excellent job, a lot of effort in that, well done mate.
Thank you so much 🚀🚀
So beautiful and so practical Ne sub here from AU
Thanks mate, I appreciate it❤️🔥
That is a beautiful cabinet
Thanks 😊😊
Incredible work!
Thanks a lot! 🚀
Turn your flattening sled the other way around. Won't need hot glue then and it's safer. :) Very nice, love that piece :)
Good tip! I’ll try it the next time, thanks ☺️
@@jamesinthewood i would probably use a little bit of hot glue... :)
Nice job but sketchy safety habits - not a good example for beginners especially.
Agree, the piece came out beautiful, but too many cringe moments with placement of hands and improper use of push blocks on multiple machines. And too much chisel work aimed at the opposite hand. Finally the complete lack of dust collection. Hope this young man will take this as constructive. He does beautiful work.
Did we watch the same video? You two are off your rockers..... he used push sticks nonstop, and not everyone has to set an example.
Nice comment but offside and a touch unjustified. Terrible example especially to the safety police 😮
Thanks all for the tips and worrying, I always put a disclaimer at the start of the video, and I do not want to set an example. No it’s not beginner friendly, I get that, but woodworking itself it’s risky, but I’m doing my best with what I have. Have a nice day you all ☺️🚀
Just remember people it's not your fingers just enjoy the peace and don't worry about other people's safety unless you plan on running over there and writing him a ticket safety police
Absolutely Beautiful 😊
Thank you so much 🥰
It's a good design. Good craftsmanship. Lining the grain direction up on the top and bottom would've taken the piece to the next level.
Yes you are completely right, I was in a rush and meaning to do that, eventually the client was not so disappointed
Awesome work. Got my sub. Keep the video coming.
Thanks for the sub! I’ll try my best to keep uploading 🚀
Love it yaas😅
Grazie mille!! Veramente gentile 😊
Great work James keep the videos coming...
Thanks, will do!
Nice piece.
Thanks 🚀🚀
Very beautiful and amazing work
Thank you so much 😀
Great project, but some safety aspects could be improved (blade guard on the jointer, no hand gloves when operating a table saw, saw blade is raised too far up)
Yeah I know, thanks for the tips, I mostly don’t wear gloves but suffering from dermatitis I take the risk of wearing them sometimes, that’s why I put I disclaimer at the beginning of the video :)
This is why i dont make videos. Haha. Im unconventional
nice to see someone that knows how to use a jointer - good job
Thank you! I’m still learning but I really appreciate it 🤘🏼
Can you tell me the timestamp? I don’t understand what you are referring to
Love it ❤
Well done mate! 👏🏽
Thank you so much 🤘
Grande Giocomo💛
Thanks mate ❤
