Japanese be killing me with the different alphabets... any tips on how to memorise them?
Using spaced repetition can help a lot because you get used to seeing them! Also try learning them step by step starting from the first five hiragana or katakana and moving up to the next five and so on :)

What would you say is the besy way to start learning Japanese? Learning the different alphabets is so difficult 😓
I'd say start out with immersing yourself by watching UA-cam, drama, anime, etc. so you can get used to the language and the sounds! Whilst doing that you can start out with the basics like the alphabets and basic grammar/vocabulary! The alphabets can be quite tricky, what can help with that is a repetition system, you see the characters so often that you will recognize them at some point! Reading stories for beginners with romaji (romanized spelling) on top of the Hiragana/Katakana can also be very useful to get used to the characters!
