Knapp Farms
Приєднався 9 лис 2020
Small part time family farm in North West Indiana that does a little bit of everything from raising beef cattle, and honeybees, to growing corn, hay, soybeans and even a little bit of saw milling we always have a project going. We use almost all old equipment so there’s almost always a repair going on as well.

I like your videos down to earth ! Where in indiana do you farm ?
Loved it hard core farming what built American
Angel looks like she retrieved some ducks
What kind of grain box is that?
That was one freaky, mutant corn stalk.
What happened to the truck you bought last year?
👍
Good video! Glad you got some ducks.👍
Salut sunt un băiat din România și te urmăresc de ceva timp îmi place ca faci agricultura cu utilaje de modă vechie, și eu sunt de acest concept îmi place agricultură cu utilaje de colecție, îmi place ce faci!
how is the corn this year? hope you mak out well. do you have all the needed feed ready? things always break at the worse times! at least you had a spair on hand to replace the blown tire. good luck, be safe , good luck hunting!
I had that happen to me before, where one cornstalk is taller than the rest, not sure what causes that. What happened to your other grain tuck?
Good video 👍🌽. I know what you mean about running on the off row, we run a 12 row planter and 8 row head. How’s the new auger working out on the L2?
I have a saying that could be apropriate "THOSE THAT THINK THEY KNOW IT ALL ARE ANNOYING TOO US THAT DO "
570 RPM's on the motor not down the PTO.
Thats a lot tractor for thatcorn picker
Never ran out of horsepower though
Can you put hay in the grinder?
I don’t know if there are any other differences but I think the only thing we would need is a hay feeder for the hammer mill they have a much larger hole for the hay I think it would get plugged up in our small grain feeder neck on this one but would probably grind of fine with the larger one
I Really enjoy your videos. Also nice to hear your easy going attitude. Great to see you working with the equipment and getting the job done! Keep up the good work. 👍
This old gas powered IH fleetstar will cost a lot less to maintain than a modern diesel equivalent with complex emissions control systems. These also have more character than today's vehicles
I don't know if you check videos this old but I threw up one about picking corn and I had no idea there were so many experts on the subject.
Hard at work! The Gleaner did a great job, of course. Love that new truck. Can't wait to see more about it.
Put drier sheets where ever you don't want to have mouse damage 😮
Typical I do but must have forgot after last harvest season
Nice looking hopper on the international. Also that M2 sounds good. Keep it up
We use our M2 for corn only. Should be starting in about 7-10 days. Corn is at 19%.
Mine was running 18% today just wanted to get the field open so I will continue harvest next weekend should be about right on then
that has to be difficult to harvest at night with limited lights. you have to really know your fields. do you think you will make out ok this year? good harvest? you are always tied to the weather! for good or bad! any new varmint videos? hope you got to bed at a good hour!
Yeah definitely have to know the field plenty of light to harvest right in front of you but have to know when things are coming up my field is looking good think it will yeild decent just prices are so low
Seems like sometimes you and Derek do your best work in the dark !! Have a good one.
Seems like when I get the most done just wish the elevator was open at night so I could haul without traffic
Good video 👍👍. We finished beans this past Friday.
That truck was very well taken care of. Very nice and clean.
Yes it was
Those rose bushes look kind of like Multiflora rose. It's an invasive plant around here in Maine. Look it up. They are no fun to deal with if left unchecked.
We spray chain lube into that swivel bearing on our M3, helps a lot.
good job done
Design looks like my rivierre casalis 125. But not very much. Rivierre takes anything in at any speed and puts a round bale never missing. 😮 It's very old France. I bought it at 1500euros. Only problem is the size it can be anything between 160-180cm.
Yeah, that was fun. I mean, if a guy can’t learn something when watching a mechanic video, he never will. So do a lot of you guys in Indiana carry all the time? I only see MN and IA farmers in real life, and I’ve never seen one carrying. I’m just curious if there’s a big difference in laws or in the number of scumbags that make it better for good people like you guys to carry.
We are close to Chicago and Gary so yeah there is probably more crime here I wouldn’t say a lot of farmers carry around here but we do better safe then sorry
I have to ask are you some way related to the knapps in western Nebraska. I worked for them when I was in highschool.
I do not know of any relatives out that way
that is a 2 person job for sure! it is great that you have the spare parts to get things running . and be ready for harvest season. it is very good to go through all of the units to insure all the units are all ready to go! hope you do not have any breakdowns this season. good luck and be safe!
Enjoyed that video, you and Dad wrestling that auger. Couple weeks and you’ll be workin’ it. Thought maybe you’d show the new cash box !
Good video. We had a guy running our R52 and he hit the auger into the back of the grain cart and bent it back.
The end spout looks to be in the wrong position
It does look funny but so far it works correctly I think it’s just the wrong spout for that auger
you need a different pulley for corn snd beans
Our L&M series have the variable speed clutch that we can turn up and get just enough rpm’s for soybeans and turn down enough for corn as well
Love the old IH trucks! You should put some flowmasters on it
Love what your doing. I wish my dad was alive to see your videos. This is the exact way we farmed when i was a kid and same equipment. Would love to do this in my retirement. I could easily buy all this equipment in decent shape with even some parts equipment. without costing a fortune, And do it all debt free. Great job!
Slow down!
Is it the same process as making dog food
Whoa, nice! And the seat's in great condition, from what I can see. That's rare. Jeez, I hope the useless scum thieves get caught and dealt with accordingly.
Nice looking tractor. Glad you got some AC finally.
Congratulations on the tractor!
Nice tractor 👍
Great video and awesome tractor, looks nice 👍. What year is it and how many HP does it have? That’s sure to bad to hear about your farm stand getting robbed, hope you can find whoever it was.
that really sucks! I hope you catch the slugs that stole your money . did you put up any cameras? the corn looks great, wish I could support you but I am in western NY. it is good that you got the hay bailed. how many do you need for the season?are you going to adapt the fittings?
Congratulations
Looks like he is going a bit too fast?
