    Whoa, nice! And the seat's in great condition, from what I can see. That's rare. Jeez, I hope the useless scum thieves get caught and dealt with accordingly.

    Dont know whos fences are whos ?? But in my area when theres trees in the fence line we call it ( townships name ) Syndrome . Meaning the farmers just could never find the time to do the work needed to remove the trees ! In other words lazy !

  • @hairymanonetwo

    Pick your corn at around 23 % moisture....yah wont have the corn booging up in the elevator. I always start picking corn when its around 25 % . Almost no shelling on the rolls

  • @hairymanonetwo
    @hairymanonetwo 18 днів тому

    At 5:21 By having the elevator over loaded as its shown here....your shelling more corn on the rolls. The corn can not get off the rolls quick enough ! This is where running your picker on 1000 rpms.....and engine half open plays a major part !!! With 250 bushel per acre corn......Im still moving at around 5 miles per hour. It works !

  • @hairymanonetwo
    @hairymanonetwo 18 днів тому

    Ive used this picker for years !! Cheap running....spend 300 dollars on it ( a gear box repair ) in 25 years. Key !!!!! When this picker is left outside for just a few days a film of rust can build up on the snapper rolls in front of the picker. If you try to pick corn with even a tiny bit of dew on the stalks the leaves will instantly cling to the roll....and it will build up and break a roll ! This can happen as quick as moving it 15 feet. The rolls are hard to find and expensive ! Always allow the dew to come off first ! The sheller unit.... not the super sheller.. ( by myself ) I could pick two semi loads of corn a day...and have them loaded on the semi. With my 6600 John Deere combine....I cant do that ! The reason ??? Chasing wagons ! Have to take wagons out in various areas of the field .....then go get them again. No need for that with the two row ! Pick until the load is full....finished !

    A landscaper I worked for in ‘86-‘87 had a’74 Fleetstar former Ontario Ministry of Transport snow plough truck with a 478 and and Allison 4 speed single axle, but it was a pig on gas compared to his ‘72 Ford LN8000 single axle with a Cat 1160 with a 5x2 trans and a sander.

  • @SuperDave01965
    @SuperDave01965 Місяць тому

    The 2010 and it’s heavier Fleetstar 2110 were the gas versions with 478 and 549 V8s. They also had the legendary IH 450 Red Diamond ♦️ in-line 6 gasser that the counties loved. Dodge used the 478/549 V8s in their C700/800/900 swing fender trucks for those wanting bigger power than their own 361/413 big blocks. The Fleetstar 2050s had midrange diesels like the IH DV550 (a converted 549) the Cat 1160-3208, Detroit 6v53 and Cummins 555 V8s. The Fleetstar 2070s had big bore diesels like the 6-71 Detroit, Cummins 250, 270, 290, and 350. They were produced from 1968 to 1977 when the S2200/2500/2600 took over. They all had short hoods with a 93” BBC for pulling 45’ trailers in 55’ states.
