Approaching the redwoods team rn how would you plan to rebuild it?
enjoying your return with lacrosse commentaries… now bring back the best podcast ever !✌🏼
I don't know that THAT podcast is coming back. But I would like to get back into podcasting.
i only know 4 PLL algorithms
I love these type of videos please keep making them brotha ❤️
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I will try to keep this kind of video in the rotation. Let me know if you have any specific topics you want to see.
Hey Neil. I’ll cast a vote for both the Gait & Powell brothers. Transcendent players that influenced lacrosse at every level.
For the sake of THIS debate, I believe the Powells aren't included because they didn't play together. But I don't think the Gait's are the wrong answer and I even had an earlier draft of this video where I talked more about the Gaits.
@@iamneilbarrett I thought Ryan & Casey played together for 1 or 2 years. My bad.
@@Deron925 You know what, I take it back. They did actually play together. I have just literally never seen a "Powell to Powell" from Syracuse. Now I am rethinking my entire life.
how did the PLL manage to make every single logo worse. especially the atlas and redwoods logos. And the water dogs logo looks like a default logo template in a video game.
I think there are some good elements, but they all have a bit of a "cartoony" vibe that I don't love. Hopefully they evolve and change because there are some cool ideas here.
It’s difficult getting burnt out on UA-cam. Unfortunately it happens to me from time to time. Lacrosse needs more people making original content. New to the channel but excited to see more
Thanks for checking it out!
@@iamneilbarrett No problem. I made a lax channel and tried to balance it with my current channel. The potential for growth is absolutely there. Lax fans want quality content. I wish I could do both but it’s just too much to balance
@@TheEndZone4 Totally get it. It's not easy to do (plus its a LOOOOONG off-season where content is even harder)
Let’s go
I think the archers have a star logo on the color rather than an arrowhead which really doesn’t make much sense to me
The redwoods also don’t have two bears, they have a California logo on the collar
The Archers do have a star I realized that after I edited the video but it was too late to change. Haha. And yes, the Woods has the California logo, but my point was about the bear that is present in both (in fact, the bear is present in all of their logos).
@@iamneilbarrett Gotcha, I agree with you on most of your rankings, especially the outlaws (coming from a outlaws fan) it would be nice to see the Redwoods incorporate a Sequoia/tree into a secondary logo to play off their name!
@@masonhead119 The Woods could definitely benefit from a more varied set of marks.
Lets gooooo
Been too long!
Yyyaaaassssss!!!!!!
Big Sam!! Glad you are still here. I just moved up to NH, so we need to get up one of these days.
@@iamneilbarrett hell yeah brother!!! Raise hell praise Dale.
Happy to have you back Neil! Love the direction your Instagram account has taken as a designer. Would love to see more of that content. Expansions of your tutorials that you make as reels and tiktoks.
Also wouldn't mind hearing more about your story professionally. How you got into sports design and other design adventures.
Glad to be back. Appreciate the kind words. This is going to be MORE of a lacrosse channel, but I do have some plans to do some lacrosse designs. Even thinking of a good series with it. I will be sure to tell my story more in those episodes.
@@iamneilbarrett Love to hear it! I'm excited to see that series
@@jaredfontaine7128 It might wait until that dead period between the end of the PLL and the start of the NLL, but I promised it IS going to be a thing.
Welcome back Neil
Thank you!
Lets go
😤
Nice! Good to see you back. Seems like I’m on the way out. It’s tough to just let the channel die, but I kind of feel like I don’t have anything else to say. When you blow up, don’t be surprised if I come asking for a collaboration to help save my channel 😂 Best of luck Neil, I’ll be watching 👍🏻
Tom, my friend, I hope it doesn't, but if your channel dies out, I will be amongst the many that are sad to see it go (though I completely understand). If you decide to get back into it (or stay), you don't even need to ask for a collab. I would love to. Thanks for all the support and friendship over the years. Hopefully we can meet at a game someday!
Can we use these shoes for football?
I guess im the only one who has the same issue like you, my right foot feel the same from that edge
Are these too grippy on artificial grass? Thanks!
can you post the link to buy these?
How did you find these for cutting / slanting / lateral movements. I'm looking to pick up a pair for Ultimate Frisbee because of the toe spikes
Can u pls help me get the butt off I can’t get it off
how do they fit? narrow or wide? I know they come in an EE and a D fit, but it would be good to know how the D fit comes up against a standard Nike cleat for example. Nike is well known for being slightly narrow. great Video btw and very detailed.
Honestly what I'm wondering is why Paul rabil named his professional lacrosse league premier Lacrosse league when Israel has a has a professional lacrosse league called premier Lacrosse league and it was founded in 2014 which is long before Paul rabil founded the premier Lacrosse league which if you want to check it out the Israel premier Lacrosse league is really something interesting
Can these be worn for football
Yea they are actually advertised on the nike website as Lacrosse and Football cleats.
I use this for football.
Not brine m3 maverick m3
Midwest!!! 🥍
do you know the total weight of the shaft?
I don't know it, but it also will change depending on which pieces you use. There are a speed and power variations of both the metal shaft and carbon, as well as weights that you put in the bottom of the shaft in order to balance the complete stick. So weight can and will vary depending on a number of things. I will tell you that it feels pretty light in your hand. Maybe not the lightest shaft on the market, but certainly not very heavy at all.
I have them and love them I got them in the 2E model because I have flat feet but they are very comfortable I have worn them in several tournaments And they have held up well. I like them better than the freeze Because I tried them first. The insole in the burn is very comfortable and also like you said in the video the tongue is very comfortable even though it is only attached on one side
I am glad to hear how much you like them. They are a great cleat. I really enjoyed playing in them.
I'm contemplating getting some of the turfs for indoor play. Since you seem to have a pretty good review of them, how would you say they are size wise? Are they true to size? What would you recommend? I watched your Huarache 5 review and you said you went bigger on those, but what about these?
I have never used the turfs, but assuming that they arent drastically different from the cleats, you should be good to go in your normal size. Like I said in the video, these are the best fitting Huaraches in a long time. Much better shape than the last few. If you have a wide foot, might still need to go up half a size, but otherwise you should be good to go in your normal size.
@@iamneilbarrett thank you for your response!
Just got a pair today
That's awesome, man. Let me know what you think about them.
Cardinal Lacrosse love them!
I like your review style much better than others. I was contemplating if I was going to get this cleat for its price point and I think I will. Thanks
I appreciate the kind words. Let me know what you think about them.
Ok, but I don’t have enough money yet😔
Cardinal Lacrosse if you don’t enjoy those cleats I would gladly take them since my feet are getting bigger and need new cleats. I don’t have the money to buy them.
Broke my ankle wearing these cleats, they look dope though!
Too your last question, MLL can't be the way to go, they have proved they cant and dont know what theyre doing, time to give someone else the reigns in professional lacrosse
I don't think you are wrong. My only counter point is that they are an established league with almost 20 years of experience and infastructure. They certainly aren't going to disappear over night. Honestly, I think both leagues can work (though one will need to accept a smaller role, which may not happen).
southeast locations could be larger colleges/unis
I think that depends on what you mean by "Lager Colleges/Unis" in the southeast. When you say that, I immediately think of SEC schools. Most of those schools stadiums are bigger than NFL stadiums and would be entirely too big of a venue for the PLL. The other problem that you would run into with a lot of the bigger southeastern schools is that many of them are located in rather rural college towns that would lack the ability to draw in people for that Final Four type atmosphere that the PLL has said they are looking for. From what the PLL has publicly stated, I think you will find them in bigger cities that have stadiums that can fit between 20-40k people. However, there are several larger southeastern schools that would fit this mold like Georgia Tech who has a 40k seat stadium in the middle of downtown Atlanta. But, who knows. It will be exciting to see the places they pick.
Yeah that’s true, I’m a Philly kid and we have a beautiful venue in the mls teams stadium that has held ACC tournament games. Perfect stadium for lax
@@PallyGames97 I would be very surprised if they didn't go play in Talon Energy Stadium. Like you said, its a great venue for lacrosse, it has hosted the ACC tournament and seems to be perfectly in line with what the PLL has been saying it's looking for.
An amazing stadium in a not so amazing area tho. Chester, a dangerous place
X Is 10 just as IV is 4, V is 5 XI is 11
Hahaha, I understand how Roman Numerals work. I am making a joke about the fact that, much like the iPhone X, no one seems to know whether or not to call these the "Burn X" or the "Burn 10".
Which helmet would you prefer, like for a cascade r, comment cascade s
The S is definitely the better helmet. As it should be. Hopefully no one is making a product that is worse than their previous product.
Good stuff man love the info!
You should mention the carbon fiber piece is corked, so heads with Warriors lock-throat will not work with the shaft!
Good point. I actually never think about that because I never use carbon shafts and I rarely use Warrior heads. I probably wouldn't have thought about it until I went to use a Warrior head.
Cardinal Lacrosse unfortunately I learned the hard way, but I'd still take the Rift shaft any given day over other 1 piece shafts
Any knowledge if theres a chance of a dpole coming out?
Gold RIFT on red gloves is drip.
Good stuff here!
Thanks guys! Appreciate you checking it out!
How's the traction, did you find yourself ever slipping?
No, never did, but I have only really played on dry fields, so it is definitely something that could be an issue if you play in wet conditions.
Great video neil! got some intense eye to camera contact going on here Haha
I get so mad at myself when I am editing and I am constantly looking at other things so I really tried to make it a point to remind myself to be looking at the camera.
@@iamneilbarrett I like it! Feels like you're staring into my soul haha
Thank you for supporting the project! Love seeing Duke gear next to hockey sticks next to Star Wars.... just saying.
That last sentence is basically 95% of who I am as a person.
I totally agree with you on the point about the tour base. When you were talking about non traditional areas such as SoCal where I am from that is a great place for the PLL to come because we the pacific shootout every year and it always sells out as Orange County has really become a lacrosse hub for SoCal.
Yeah, it makes so much sense to go on tour rather than put teams in 6 cities. Especially since those 6 cities would have to be in traditional hotbeds in order to make sense. I did hear him today say that they will constantly be re-evaluating their model and are open to settling down as the league grows. That is pretty promising. Seems like they are willing to make changes. The opposite of the MLL.
Atlanta United plays at Mercedes. Since the Blaze most likely have an agreement with Fifth Third Bank stadium, if the PLL comes to ATL, I'm thinking that they would play at Mercedes.
Yes, but Mercedes is an NFL stadium that holds over 70k people. It's entirely too big for the PLL to play in as even the NCAA Final Four struggles to fill NFL stdiums. It makes much more sense that they would play in a place like Bobby Dodd where they would at least have 20k less empty seats.
Cardinal Lacrosse doesn’t american soccer not fill either?....soccer isn’t considered a major sport either unlike the big 4
So I have said this since the begining when it was first announced I hope it makes the sport grow and doesn't become a joke. Hopefully it doesn't have a Harlem Globetrotters type of feel and actually feels like you're watching professional lacrosse.
I am with you. I think have 6 teams and an actual schedule with playoffs and a championship will help. I am curious if the fact that they will be full time players means that teams will actually be able to practice regularly and establish identities that are distinguishable from one another.
love the video keep making them.
Thanks, Max. I am going to be trying to put out some more content. Hopefully, I will have a review coming.
Great video and super in depth. Really looking forward to seeing what happens between the MLL and PLL but whatever comes of it it will be a big step forward for the sport. PLL sounds like it has a lot to offer and I am excited to see it all work out.
Appreciate it. I am excited about the PLL and the ideas it has to grow the game. But ultimately, whether it succeeds or fails, it will be good for the sport to have a second league with new ideas about how to go about the professional league model.
