LOL at them talking about Marketing and finances with chess. They need to hire me. First stop with silly dress codes of any kind. Next Allow trash talking at the table, and encourage it. Next invite hans Neeman to every tournament. Chess needs some drama, and it need to have some personality. Maybe invest in tournaments of shorter time frames, and make a 10 minute doc video for each of the biggest players so people get to know them, and get some controversy going between lpayers. In order to get big money, and big sponsores, you meed to have a story, and a narrative, and make it interesting with some drama for normal people.

Love this! The vintage look of the film itself and all the artistic additions make this super to watch. The details of the story are very enlightening; until now I'd only known some bits and pieces. A much needed and well done documentary. ❤

When IA makes a chess doc. This was really bad :(

A good documentary on the psychology of the players. As a player and lover of chess I strongly relate to the pain of losing, even at my low level. To lose affords the opportunity to learn and hopefully to avoid repeating the same mistake(s) in the the next game.

Gotta love the apt (and absurd) comparisons between chess and motorcycle racing! Chess should indeed become an Olympic event...and should be part of the USA school curriculum from k through 12. Chess is indeed a vehicle for teaching and cultivating good sportsmanship, mental agility, focus, stamina, concentration, perseverance and the capacity to make more objective fact based decisions in life. We have a long way to grow.

All my cats for the last 40+ years have been stray or rescued cats. The local shelter is a kill shelter, but I adopted the best cat I’ve ever known from them because he was to be euthanized the next day. Someone would have deprived the world of his wonderful personality and love. The only no-kill shelter is over 20 miles away and is full. My sister is having the stray cats dumped at her house spayed and neutered as she can afford it. I have also paid for a few cats to be fixed. It’s a cruel life for cats dumped by people who don’t want them anymore. Stray females have litter after litter of kittens and the kittens have poor health, and mama cat is often malnourished. I’m considering fostering kittens at the moment, but I have 2 male cats and don’t know if they would be hostile to them.

Chess is so unhealthy compared to other sports. They sit still all day. no exercise. stressed out. A table tennis player at least move his body. or other sports. I was elite level Karate competitor and glad I at least got to move around while doing what I love. I play chess now for fun yes, but its while walking on my treadmill. No intention to actually study the game.
