If you click on a dweller, it'll show an outfit, weapon, and an option for an animal. You can select animal and add to the dweller. Any animals in your inventory that aren't assigned to a dweller should be listed there. Or if you click on the pip boy menu on the bottom right you should see an option for storage space/inventory. There is a section there for pets.

As long as you're not playing Survival mode, you should be able to revive a dead dweller with CAPS

Fallout Shelter is available on Steam, but I'm not sure if the TV show quests are available on PC. I heard they might only be for mobile.

It all depends who plays it, In my opinion, I’ve had more fun with utter chaos and it’s pretty thrilling. I thought about streaming it sometimes but never got the feeling that I should because of this. It’s also fun to experiment to basically have a society at the palms of your hands. So many may find their own enjoyments out of their own play styles.
