Am I wrong these are to be planted in the fall
GENIUS! I have 3 set up like this. Now I am able to easily rotate them several times a day ! I have another one coming Tuesday, and it will be added to the hose the others are connected to.
Hie guys is there an option on the app to plant on the wall?
So... Im amazed with your design to solve this problem. I would have used the extra 1/4" hose to feed through the deck for the overflow outlet. Now maybe need to set it up on a timer for water flow. Good Job and Thank You!
I thought about that, but didn't want to drill a hole in the deck until I used it for a season. It worked great so next year I'll drill a hole.
Why drill a hole? If you can run 1/4" up to water, then why not "adapt" a 1/4" hose as a run off back down through the deck? Just me thinking...
This is definitely something to think about. I was planning on adding two more sets of clips on the Greenstock so that I could just move the hoses & reservoir/nozzle to the new position when I spin it. A set of 7 clips is only $3, so it won’t break the bank. If that doesn’t really work, I’m definitely giving your idea a try!
I tried this with mine. You really only need 2 clips to hold it on. It worked great for a little bit, but once my plants started growing big it was difficult to untangle them to move the watering tube around.
I’m saving this!! Omg you deserve to be sponsored helped the company solve one of the biggest problems with the watering ❤
Glad I could help!
I love what you do
Can i have this app on Mobile for when im in the allotment but also Windows laptop for when im at home. Nice looking App. Thankyou.
What if i am growing flowers in some of my raised beds. Are there any ivins for flowers thst you can customise... Dahlias, Zinnias, Sunnflowers, Cornflowers , Tulips. Thank you.
Can you search on historical notes you have made on keywords to find comments you may made about a raised bed a couple of years ago. Thanks.
Can you save a garden layout and all the planting as Eg "Allotment 2024" as a kind of template and just remove the plants but kept the garden layout for the following year but with different planting and call it "Allotment 2025". That way I can keep an eye on crop rotation which is a condition of our allotment plot. Thanks.
Pretty slick!
I hope you come out with the Windows desktop 🖥 soon Will the desktop/laptop version work offline for when I'm riding in a car 🚙 and will update the other items when I get home and online?
I am in Atlanta metro area Can you give suggestions when and how to plant carrots I did not have any luck last year as it rained to much
Thank goodness I don’t get many weeds in my Greenstalks! Now raised beds are another story!
How much longer do you leave it on to compensate for a slower drain, in general?

Does Planter add the date a plant was planted?
That’s not catnip, it’s cat grass??

Great idea, Thanks for sharing...
Hello, the jalapeno plant produces for how long?.
Stupid video.
@planterapp This is really a great hack! My question is how has it been working out so far? I ask because I am curious to know how well the lower levels are doing since your hack doesn’t get water to the lower levels like the design was intended. The tornado like funnel in the center that feeds water to the lower levels never happens with the slow water feed from the 1/4” tubing. So, that means to get the bottom levels, all upper levels have to be over saturated and pass the water to the next level down and so on. Curious on the update. Maybe have the tubing feed each tier all at the same time? That could be done with a few more T’s on the way up. Thanks and great idea!!
Great idea with the T’s in each one
Thank you
I always thought you needed a fast flow to get the greenstalk to get watered properly, the website says "Use a bucket or a hose with good water pressure for the best results." How to do you make sure a slower trickle will adequately water down to the rest of the planter?
Cucumbers are fruit Seeds on the inside
Will this work with the mover bases? I have 4 movers and 2 spinners and would like to try to save time on watering with something like this concept so I can still turn my towers. 6 towers in total. Thanks in advance :) @planterapp
Arent cucumbers are related to pumpkin and zucchini? So they naturally grow on the ground or did I miss something
They come from the vine, the vine roots are in the ground. The fruit comes from the flower that buds on the vine. So as long as you can support weight of the vine and the expected fruit it'll be fune. The vines can grow pretty strong when allowed
@@yippieant but like could pumpkins climb too?
@@simonw.1223 well the vine climbs... The flower bloom turns into the pumpkin/ cucumber think of it like grapes on a vine... But you would put a support for the fruits to hold it up when they started to grow and gain weight..so it doesn't break the vine... the pumpkin doesn't climb.. the vine climbs and then the pumpkin grow slowly out of the flower.. pumpkin prolly too heavy to grow vertically without a lot of support tho... Kinda like how tomatoes just hang from a seemingly flimsy stem..
You are right. A lot of vine plants are supported from the ground for our benefit. The plants intention is to propagate its species and in the wild you see tomato vines scrambling along the ground. The ripe tomatoes rot and next year new plants emerge a few feet away from the mother plant. After a few years the species may have migrated to dominate a whole area
@@timheywood4813 ahh thank you very much
Sorry bro, cucumbers are actually a fruit. Good video though
Jeez...I didn't know these plants can climb. I though they are creeping on the ground like pumpkins. Thanks for teaching something new = )
Depends on the variety. On my farm I stick with bush versions that don't require trellising. As a 1 man army I have to pick my battles and trellises take too much effort vs planting successions
Yep. For containers, we grow the bush variety. It all depends on your growing conditions.
So cool, thanks for the hack 😊
This is the best solution I’ve seen so far. You’re a genius! Thanks for sharing.
How do you keep mosquitos out of it?
It doesn’t “hold” water in the reservoir. The bottom of where he has the water filling actually has very small holes that drain to the next tier down. So, no water stays in there for more than a minute or two.
Greenstalk would NEVER do this, nor will they condone this! They are out to get your money and lie to users about the product. It's NOT a reservoir! Its a giant funnel! A reservoir by definition HOLDS water! This doesn't hold ANY water by the company's own admission. Their watering system isn't automatic either, unless you spend MORE money to buy another piece to add a true timer and feed system.
GS SHould hire you!!!!!
❤
I thought catnip is only the grass filaments thingy
I wish you came up with a similar solution to Garden Tower 2 irrigation system.
Did it…works Awesome…!!!⚓️👍⚓️
I've created beds in the app at phone. The app at laptop doesn't recognize this fact.

Love Basil! Thanks!
Great simple Idea That Works well !!!
OMG I LOVE this! You're also solving the problem of how to rotate with the watering system and supports. Now, my question is if that would support enough water (using 1/4" tubing instead of 1/2") if you hooked up a line of Greenstalks, 6 in my case. Mine are all planted out and full right now, unfortunately, so unstacking would be next to impossible, but I might just try this in the fall when everything gets cleaned out and amended. Maybe by then someone else will have tried it with multiples.
In that case, I'd recommend using a 1/2" - 1/4" - 1/2" tee for each GreenStalk, so the main line is 1/2" and it only turns into 1/4" at the last bit. That way you should have the same flow that I'm getting.
@@planterapp I’m thinking I could just use the 1/4” barbed couplings (as opposed to a T) as that’s how we go from 1/2” to 1/4” for the other irrigation system. I do like this concept a lot and it would solve a lot of problems. Too bad everything is planted up so I can’t try it out!
I love this app. But, can you add Scorpion pepper options?
This is an awesome hack! Total game changer nice job and thanks for sharing your idea!!
Found your video on the Facebook group. This seems like a good idea. I bought the Greenstalk for my wife, so I’m going to show her this video and see if she wants me to modify our two units. She’s gone for horse shows for much of the summer and this hack would make things a lot easier for everyone. Edit: Did they delete your post on the group? Can’t seem to find it anymore.
Glad you like it and good luck with your GreenStalks! It was a very simple process and has been working great the past week that it's been installed. I think the post is still live.
Marker 7:35. Why not drop it through the crack in the decking?
It's just a tad bit too large to do that. I've thought about drilling a little hole, but decided against it.
❤❤ OMG!!! Why didn’t Greenstalk think of this. They should’ve consulted with you and you would’ve saved them tons of complaints and dissatisfaction with their watering system.
