Thanks for stopping by my UA-cam channel. I haven't narrowed a specific direction or topic, so my videos may seem “random”. You may see some product reviews, you may see some videos related to building my log home, you may see some motorcycle content, or maybe it’s just something cool that I’d like to share. As my channel evolves, it may take on a more narrow direction (or maybe it won’t), but for now, enjoy the random content. Thx for watching.

We Adopted a Puppy. Let’s Build a Dog Kennel.
Thanks Joe, I just got a 2025 Ridgeline RTL and glad I got it. I was planning on getting a Tacoma but the test drive, comfort, and power of the RTL sold me. At 70 I wanted comfort and the dual tailgate, and trunk were also a big selling point. Others with Fords and Chevy's laugh at it saying it's not a real truck I think only because they don't want to admit it. My nephew just got a Toyota Tundra a month before I got my truck and had to bring it in for engine trouble already. That was very disapointing news since Toyota has always been very dependable. Yesterday (Thanksgiving) we compared each others trucks side by side. Where his is a lot bigger and he put bigger tires and a 2" lift kit and is meaner looking he doesn't have as many options in it that I have and he said my leather bucket seats were far more comfortable than his and he didn't have the same dual tailgate feature, no sunrooof, and didn't have a trunk. He also wished he had a trunk also. I think he said he didn't have the phone charging pad as well. My last truck was a Chevy but rusted out fast on me. My Ridgeline is loaded with power. The V6 with dual exhaust and a 9 speed transmission puts out 280 HP and came with a tow pkg and can haul 5,000 lbs. All those Chevy, Ford, and Dodge owners can say whatever they want. I'm not out there to impress anyone. I'm 70. Yrs old and bought this Ridgeline as my last vehicle because I know it will far outlast me (and all those Chevy, Ford, and Dodge trucks, maybe even the Toyota's)
I BOUGHT A 2024 HONDA Ridgeline Black Edition and its been 8 mouths no problem.
got my 25 black edition last month and love it. filled out a "looking for car" thing on AAA and got dealers reaching out offering big discounts compared to MSRP, cut through the BS before even going to the dealer
Interesting, I'm considering buy one and really appreciate your findings, thanks much and keep the videos coming.
Thanks for watching!
Did you drive to the cemetery to take a nap?
I think a paint job to match would make all the difference. To me, it's the color that kills it. Keep and paint.
That's a nice 2000's model El Camino
Tell me you're a redneck without telling me you're a redneck..
keep it
I sold it the next day for a $500 profit. 🤣 I just didn't like the lines. Maybe I'm just not old enough to appreciate it yet. lol.
your wife likes it and you are asking us? oh, and there is the bit that your wife likes it
Don't worry. I get buyer's remorse from buying a bottle of soda and a donut at the convenience store.
🤣😆
I have the 2023. Awesome truck. Averaging 22mpg, adaptive cruise is the best, takes the work out of driving! Love the tailgate and trunk; the cabin is spacious, enjoying the bells and whistles. Thanks for your review!
I added the tour pack to my '23 Chieftain Dark Horse Black Smoke. Paid full dealer price (Yikes). It looks great on the bike with matching paint. I don't use it except when I go overnight, but when I do I'm glad to have the secure space. You got an amazing deal. It will look great painted up. Btw, my wife actually finds the sissy bar more comfortable, and likes that she has some rails to hang on to.
I like it. I'd definitely keep it and paint it. Good luck 👍
You should keep it. Contrast is the keyword here.
I'm about to buy one of these, no, nothing you mentioned is a deal breaker.... My wife has a 2019 Odyssey and the very first time we took it on a highway the collision avoidance went off for no reason at all and the van braked HARD...so hard that if someone was close behind me we would've been rear-ended. I had no control over anything, it didn't respond to my foot on the accelerator either. That was six years ago and it's been off the whole time. Regarding the Halogen running lights vs. LED's...I know the EXACT reason the don't use LED's any longer...they're blinding! My wife's Odyssey's running lights are brighter than her regular lights. I can also attest to this because I park at a railroad station in the morning and lot of people sit there with their engines on, the ones with LED's and park front end out, blind everyone in the lot facing them.
As soon as its painted to match ur color... You're gonna love how it looks
Looks fine to me.
Well, the grass is always greener on the other side, lol...at least that's what our cows tell us when they get out. Nice to meet you, Joe, my name is Jody. I really don't know why people have to be rude with comments. Glad you got things worked out. Beautiful bike and love the blacked out...
Nice to meet you as well, Jody. I enjoyed your video on Skyline Drive. 🙂
@randomstuffwithjoe thanks, Joe! 🤗
I just purchased my 4th Ridgeline. First in 2007, then 2018, 2022, and now 2025 Black Edition in the same color as yours. These have been great trucks, no issues, but then again, I don’t put on too many miles. I worked at Honda when they first opened the Marysville, Ohio plant Circa 1981-82. These are built in Alabama which I’ve been to that facility several times in my career after Honda. I’ve had other trucks for hauling boats, etc., but the Ridgeline is my go-to for an excellent drivers vehicle.
I received a recall notice in January for my 2019. As of today's date, they still do not have the fuel pump to repair my truck. Now seeing news reports about engine failures and possibly 1.4 million Honda V6's being recalled. 😠😠😠👎👎👎
Having owned a ridgeline for 7 years my only disappointment was the blind spot warning is not on the rear view mirror which is the first place the driver looks for traffic. It is in a panel next to the A pillar. Very disappointing as a safety feature
I absolutely loathe my Ridgeline, it's complete trash. Stereo sucks, it's completely gutless, and none of the features work as advertised.
Ha... if you say so...
@randomstuffwithjoe I mean, have you tried the auto high beams? They're only good at blinding oncoming traffic, but they're afraid of road reflectors. Don't even get me started on LKAS and the CMBS (which you mentioned). Far and away the WORST thing about this hunk of junk is the infotainment system based on a 12 year old version of Android... It suuuuuucks. My wife's Mini Cooper convertible from 2008 has a better sounding stereo.
A bath so let me guess you flooded the exterior open air filter ? 😂
Ha.. not even.
Wife likes it is your answer. Repaint it and use it when she rides with you. Keep her comfortable on the ride.
better to keep and not need it, then need it one day and not have it. especially for that deal. adds value to the bike as well
What you worried about?. Personlly i woudnt even bother to paint it and use it as is
You can try to remove the Fuse for the automatic re-start buttom. Just make sure what else will be turned off with. On F-150 is the same fuse for toll lights.
I’ve owned Fords, Chevys and Dodge trucks and hands down my favorite truck is my current 2021 Honda Ridgeline 2021. It’s does everything I want and more and it does it with great comfort. At 67 years old, comfort becomes paramount.
I like it, repaint it.
Sold it last night for a $500 profit. 😂
Have a 2023 RTL I have driven it 70K. No issues, not a fan of push button shifter or the adaptive cruise control. Everything else is great.
Great video review. No pretentious BS. The one thing I hate about smaller vehicles is the small gas tank. The one thing I love about my F150 is the 35 gallon gas tank ard 600 mile range vs ~300. Give me a BIG tank and I'd be happier...
Without a doubt, keep it, paint it, and upgrade your speakers to be compatible. I've had several bikes in the Indian/Victory line and my wife and I put the most miles and had the most fun on the ones with tour packs. Better sound, better accommodations for luggage or helmets and infinitely more comfortable for your passenger. You'll make more/better memories with that trunk on there, I promise.
Great video I’ve got a 21f150 crew cab and I want to down size and have been considering the ridgeline. After seeing video think I’m gonna go look at them. Great looking truck
I like it. Very functional and I don't mind the looks. (I don't even mind the color, but for $200 I'd get it painted.) Sounds like you got quite a deal. Ride with it for awhile solo and see if it affects the ride much with the weight , etc. IMHO I'd keep it.
Ya it’s definitely functional. The weight is pretty substantial at over 50lbs. I can feel it even moving it around the garage - tho I’m sure I could get used to it. I’m having mixed feelings about it. Maybe you’re right and I should ride with it for a while before painting it to see if it grows on me.
I purchased a 2024 Ridgeline Trailsport via trading a 2022 Tacoma TRD off road. Best decision I have made in a long time. Best all around truck for me. I drove a friends 24 GMC Denali last week and even though it is a great looking new body style and a MT truck of the year, I still prefer my Ridgeline. The Ridgeline is quieter, more room, better mileage, no buzzy 4 cylinder and turbos which he has already had multiple recalls on a $58K truck. The longer I have owned this, the more I like it.
I have a 2025 Ridgeline, 6 weeks old. I have the exact dislikes as you . I don’t like the push button shifter as my number one. I purchased a Ridgeline instead of a Frontier based on your tutorial . I had three Frontiers in the last 25 years. Thanks
Keep it and paint it to match your bike
Nice review. Love these trucks. If I didn’t have to pull a 7,500lb boat, I would buy one. Easy solution to blacking out your chrome trim. Don’t buy replacement pieces, rather spray them with PlastiDip/DipYourCar rubberized paint. No having to remove the pieces either. I did a video on my channel doing my ATV rims. Cool stuff. Hope you have continued good luck with your Ridgeline 👍
I like the first gens better. Just my opinion
I've had my 2024 Ridgeline for about a month now. After owning Silverados, Tahoe, Suburban, and even an S-10 Blazer.....I'm older now, and don't need all the towing capacities anymore. This truck has damn near the interior room that my 2011 Crew cab Silverado had. Not quite, but pretty close. This truck is a very comfortable truck to get used to after 1/2 ton full size trucks all my life. And it has a proven V-6 as standard. I wanted another Silverado, but their base engine is a V-4. And pricey upgrades for V8's above that.
Keep it and paint it for long rides with the wife. It looks comfy and it looks like it comes off easy if you wanna just fly solo.
Its supposed to be "quick release", but its actually much more work then I expected to connect and disconnect it. It literally took me 2 hours to get it hooked up yesterday. Now that I know whats involved, it should be a little easier, but still not "easy". Its actually very heavy so its difficult to do solo.
@randomstuffwithjoe I would keep it and sleep on it for a year. Unless you need the money. Increases the overall resale of your bike as well.
I like the interior as well. I hate the vehicles that are filled with screens! People have given up their privacy 1000%.
If you are patient and just leave a vehicle alone “no mods” you will begin to appreciate it. Good stuff.
If only the same thing could be said for motorcycles. lol. I may have spent a small fortune on motorcycle mods in my 35 years of riding.
I’d keep it considering the deal you got in it but you could always resell it for some profit given how crazy pricey that thing is. Definitely keeping mine on the Victory XC Tour. All that extra cargo will spoil a rider.
My wife likes the idea of being able to lock up her helmet when we are off the bike. And the comfort is nice for her as well. But she doesn’t ride with me but for a few times each season so she’s also fine with the sissy bar and luggage rack. I just don’t like the looks.. and it’s really heavy too.
@ Gotcha. I’m solo 24/7 mostly and practicing for one of those motorcycle rodeos.
I gotta be honest, I had to suppress a gasp when you did the reveal. Wow, that is big and ugly. Oddly enough, I didn't think that on the Roadmaster and now I can't unsee. it. Is it possible that a tour pack from Advanblack would look better?
Ya. I think the Advanblack "chopped" pack will probably fit the lines of the bike better. I've seen a few photos and it looks good. I agree.. this Indian trunk is just too big.. and it really ruins the lines of the bike for me. Also, its really heavy. It literally ads about 68-70 pounds to the weight of the bike.. and I could feel it just moving it around in the garage. I think I'm gonna resell it and recoup my money - and not waste my time or more money re-painting it. The good news.. I got such a good deal on it.. that I could probably make a little money selling it if I'm patient.
I loved my 2020 Ridgeline it’s the best truck out there but I had to trade it in because I needed more towing. I ended up buying a 23 Colorado and I have to say the Colorados ride is close to the Ridgeline. The shallow bed of the Ridgeline can be a drawback sometimes because cargo if not tied down securely will blow out of the bed more easily.
I understand, Bike things are hugely personal. In the end, its about how you feel. From the age of 17 until recently. I was the owner of 2 cars and a motorcycle. (I recently had to sell my motorcycle, due to advancing health issues). I say...paint it. Look at it again, see if you feel better. (You can still sell it and be ahead $) ?
I think I’ve already decided that I don’t like it. And honestly, I can’t get quite a lot of storage on the bike when needed by using the sissy bar and luggage rack. But for the price I paid, it was worth the risk. I’m sure I can recoup my cost by reselling it.
You always wanted to buy it, why the remorse ? Tourpack is for traveling & having more space storage, also better comfort for second passenger. A little compromise for the look but more advantages at the long run. Inside city or short trips, you can always remove it.
I fell in love with this color.. otherwise I may have gone for the Pursuit. But at the price I paid for this trunk.. it was probably worth the risk of buying it. I can likely sell it with no problem. At least I know I don't like it now.. and I'm not into it for the cost of a new trunk. lol
I guess I got used to traveling with the sissy bar and luggage rack. My wife only rides with me occasionally, but did say the trunk feels more secure when she sat on it yesterday. Also, removing and replacing it is way more of a hassle then I expected it to be. Its big, heavy, and awkward to manage. I'm definitely having a little buyers remorse. lol
@@randomstuffwithjoe I say if makes the wife feel more secure and only rides occasionally it's worth the hassle of mounting it. of course she might ride with you more do to that secure feeling she has. IMO the cost of painting and upgrading speakers is worth it since it's making your wife happy
You'll love the plow, I have the quick connect 4point 60"plowup front with a polyurethane blade so I don't scuff up my driveway. The dealer tried to sell me the loader mounted plow which I could see working on your driveway , but not on my residential driveway. Nice setup you have there! BTW I recently purchased the BX 2380 in August and sold my John Deere
The bx1880 has been a perfect size tractor for my property. I haven't found myself needed or wanting more. I still haven't decided on a plow yet. I'm having a hard time spending that kind of money on something I'll only use a few times per year. The bucket seems to do a pretty decent job. I may try adding a piece of pvc pipe over the cutting edge this winter to allow for getting closer to the pavement. Or there's also a bucket attachment from Ratchet Rake.. basically a polly cutting edge that'll protect the driveway surface.. and I can continue using the bucket.
As a '23 owner I have to say that I love the adjustable armrests. I thought they looked a little weird when I bought it, but in use they are fantastic. I don't have long arms, but I can adjust the armrest to support my elbow at the same time I'm holding the steering wheel and it is super comfortable for me.
I didn't like the armrests but I really love the center console on the 2024. But we all have different tastes. 😀
